¹Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

¹بعد از آن بطرف باشان حرکت کردیم. پادشاه باشان با تمام لشکر خود برای مقابلۀ ما به اَدرَعی آمد.

²Yahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

²خداوند به من فرمود: «از او نترس، زیرا من او را همراه با تمام مردم و سرزمینش به تو سپرده ام. با او همان معامله را بکن که با سیحون، پادشاهِ اموریان در حِشبون کردی.»

³So Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we struck him until none was left to him remaining.

³به این ترتیب، خداوند، خدای ما عوج، پادشاه باشان را هم با تمام مردم او به دست ما تسلیم کرد و ما همه را کشتیم و حتی یک نفر را هم زنده نگذاشتیم.

⁴We took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

⁴هر شصت شهر او را، یعنی تمام نواحی اَرجُوب، سرزمین باشان و تمام قلعه های نظامی آن ها را تصرف کردیم.

⁵All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many.

⁵همه شهرهای شان را که دارای دیوارهای بلند و دروازه های پشت بند دار بودند با دهات و قصبات آن ها به دست آوردیم.

⁶We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

⁶همه را مثل سرزمین باشان بکلی نابود ساختیم و تمام مرد و زن و کودک را هلاک کردیم.

⁷But all the livestock, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

⁷اما گله ها و غنایمی را که به دست آوردیم، برای خود نگهداشتیم.

⁸We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon.

⁸به این ترتیب، ما تمام سرزمین دو پادشاه اموری را که در شرق دریای اُردن بود، یعنی از ناحیۀ وادی اَرنُون تا کوه حِرمون متصرف شدیم.

⁹(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.)

⁹(مردم صیدون کوه حِرمون را سِریون و اموریان آن را سنیر می گفتند.)

¹⁰We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

¹⁰ما تمام شهرهائی را که در آن جلگه واقع بودند همراه با سرزمین جِلعاد و باشان تا سَلخه و اَدرَعی به دست آوردیم.

¹¹(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; isn’t it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.)

¹¹(عوج، پادشاه باشان آخرین بازماندۀ رفائی بود. تختخواب آهنی او که در شهر رَبَت، یکی از شهرهای عمونیان قرار دارد، دارای چهار و نیم متر طول و دو متر عرض می باشد.)

¹²This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites:

¹²بعد از آنکه این سرزمین را تصاحب کردیم، آن را از عروعیر که در کنار وادی اَرنُون است با نصف کوهستان جلعاد و شهرهای آن به قبایل رؤبین و جاد دادم.

¹³and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim.

¹³بقیۀ جلعاد و تمام سرزمین باشان را که عوج در آن سلطنت می کرد به نصف قبیلۀ مَنَسّی توزیع کردم. (ناحیۀ اَرجُوب در باشان را سرزمین رفائیان هم می نامند.)

¹⁴Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)

¹⁴خانوادۀ یایر از قبیلۀ مَنَسّی سراسر ناحیۀ اَرجُوب را تا حدود جشوریان و معکیان به دست آوردند و آنجا را بنام خود، یعنی حووت یایر نامیدند که تا به امروز به همین نام یاد می شود.

¹⁵I gave Gilead to Machir.

¹⁵به خانوادۀ ماخیر جلعاد را دادم.

¹⁶To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

¹⁶قبایل رؤبین و جاد منطقه ای را که از دریای یبوق در جلعاد (سرحد عمونیان) شروع می شد و تا وسط وادی اَرنُون وسعت داشت، اشغال کردند.

¹⁷the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

¹⁷از طرف غرب، ساحۀ ملکیت آن ها تا دریای اُردن و از جهیل جلیل تا بحیرۀ مُرده و کوه فِسجه ادامه داشت.

¹⁸I commanded you at that time, saying, “Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor.

¹⁸من به شما گفتم که خداوند، خدای شما این سرزمین را به شما داده است. پس تمام مردان مسلح شما باید پیشاپیش قوم بروند و آن ها را به آن طرف دریای اُردن برسانند.

¹⁹But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,

¹⁹اما زنان، کودکان و گله های تان که می دانم تعداد آن ها بسیار زیاد است باید در همین شهرهائی که خدا به شما داده است، باقی بمانند.

²⁰until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan: then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.”

²⁰شما هم به برادران اسرائیلی تان کمک کنید تا خداوند آن ها را نیز موفق گرداند. بعد از آنکه آن ها آن سرزمین را که خداوند، خدای تان در آن طرف دریای اُردن به آن ها داده است تصرف کردند، شما می توانید به مُلک و جای خود برگردید.

²¹I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings: so shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over.

²¹بعد به یوشع هدایت داده گفتم: «تو با چشمان خود دیدی که خداوند، خدایت با آن دو پادشاه چه کرد. او با تمام کشورهای آن طرف دریای اُردن همین کار را می کند.

²²You shall not fear them; for Yahweh your God, he it is who fights for you.”

²²از مردم آنجا نترسید، زیرا خداوند، خدای تان برای شما می جنگد.»

²³I begged Yahweh at that time, saying,

²³آنگاه من بحضور خداوند التماس کردم و گفتم: «ای خداوند، تو عظمت و قدرت دست خود را به این بنده ات نشان دادی. هیچ خدائی در آسمان و زمین نمی تواند آنچه را که تو در حق ما کردی، بکند.

²⁴ “Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand: for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your mighty acts?

²⁴حالا از تو تمنا می کنم که به من اجازه بدهی تا به آنسوی دریای اُردن بروم و آن سرزمین خوب و کوهستانهای مرغوب و لبنان را ببینم.»

²⁵Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.”

²⁵اما خداوند بخاطر شما بر من غضبناک بود و به تقاضای من گوش نداد و به من فرمود: «همین برای تو کافی است. دیگر در این باره حرفی نزن.

²⁶But Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t listen to me; and Yahweh said to me, “Let it suffice you; speak no more to me of this matter.

²⁶به بالای کوه فِسجه برو و از آنجا به سمت مغرب، شمال، جنوب و مشرق نظر بینداز. آن سرزمین را از دور می ببینی، اما از دریای اُردن هرگز عبور نمی کنی.

²⁷Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes: for you shall not go over this Jordan.

²⁷ولی یوشع را به جانشینی خود بگمار و او را تقویت و تشویق کن، زیرا او قوم اسرائیل را به آن طرف دریای اُردن هدایت کرده آن سرزمین را که تو از بالای کوه مشاهده می کنی فتح می کند.»بنابران، ما در درۀ مقابل بیت فغور باقی ماندیم.

²⁸But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”

²⁸بنابران، ما در درۀ مقابل بیت فغور باقی ماندیم.

²⁹So we stayed in the valley over against Beth Peor.
