¹It happened in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹در روز اول ماه سوم سال یازدهم تبعید ما، کلام خداوند بر من نازل شد:

²Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom are you like in your greatness?

²«ای انسان خاکی، به فرعون، پادشاه مصر و تمام مردم او بگو: در بزرگی چه کسی به پایۀ تو می رسد؟

³Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.

³تو هم مثل آشور هستی؛ او مانند درخت سرو لبنان دارای شاخه های قشنگ و سایه دار و سر بفلک کشیده بود.

⁴The waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: its rivers ran all around its plantation; and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.

⁴آب های چشمه ها و جویهای روان آن را سیراب می کرد و باعث نشو و نمای آن می گردید و از برکت آن درختان اطرافش هم آبیاری می شدند. همچنین آب فراوانش به جنگل هم جاری می شد و درختان آنجا را تازه می ساخت.

⁵Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it shot them forth.

⁵بخاطر همین آب فراوان بلندتر از همه درختان دیگر شد و دارای شاخه های زیاد و برگهای غلو گردید.

⁶All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches all the animals of the field brought forth their young; and all great nations lived under its shadow.

⁶پرندگان بر شاخه های آن آشیانه می ساختند و حیوانات صحرا در زیر شاخه های آن چوچه های خود را بدنیا می آوردند. تمام اقوام بزرگ جهان در زیر سایۀ حمایت او می زیستند.

⁷Thus was it beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.

⁷آن درخت عظمت و زیبائی خاصی داشت و شاخه هایش دراز و بلند بودند، زیرا در آب فراوان ریشه دوانده بود.

⁸The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty.

⁸درختان سرو باغ خدا هم نمی توانستند با آن همسری کنند و شاخه های هیچ درخت صنوبر مثل شاخه های آن نبودند و زیباتر از همه درختان باغ خدا بود.

⁹I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.

⁹با شاخه های زیاد و غلو آن را زیبا ساختم که تمام درختان باغ عدن به آن حسادت می ورزیدند.

¹⁰Therefore thus said the Lord Yahweh: Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

¹⁰خداوند متعال می فرماید: چون آن درخت دید که از همه درختان دیگر بلندتر است و سر بفلک کشیده، مغرور و متکبر شده است،

¹¹I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.

¹¹بنابران من او را از خود رانده به دست قویترین پادشاهان جهان تسلیم می کنم تا او را به سزای اعمال زشتش برساند.

¹²Strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

¹²ظالمترین قوم دنیا آن را ریشه کن می سازد و ترکش می کند. شاخه های شکسته اش بر کوه ها و در دره ها پراگنده می شوند. اقوامی که در زیر سایه اش بودند، او را بحالش گذاشته براه خود می روند.

¹³On his ruin all the birds of the sky shall dwell, and all the animals of the field shall be on his branches;

¹³پرندگان بر تنۀ آن لانه می کنند و حیوانات وحشی میان شاخه هایش پناه می برند.

¹⁴to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all who drink water: for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with those who go down to the pit.

¹⁴پس، از این ببعد، هیچ درختی هر قدر سیراب باشد، نمی تواند سر بلند کند و بر ابر ها بساید و مغرور شود، زیرا همه محکوم به فنا هستند و با انسانهای خاکی یکجا به دنیای مردگان می روند.»

¹⁵Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when he went down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

¹⁵خداوند متعال می فرماید: «در آن روزی که آن درخت به عالم اموات می رود، آن را به علامت سوگواری و بخاطر مرگش با آب می پوشانم. دریاها و جویها را از جریان بازمی دارم. لبنان را ماتمدار می سازم و تمام درختان را خشک می کنم.

¹⁶I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. with those who descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth.

¹⁶وقتی آن را در دنیای مردگان بیفگنم، اقوام جهان از صدای سقوطش تکان می خورند. همۀ درختان زیبای باغ عدن و درختان سرسبز لبنان خشک می شوند.

¹⁷They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, that lived under his shadow in the midst of the nations.

¹⁷تمام هم پیمانان او نیز که در زیر سایه اش بودند، با وی یکجا به عالم اموات می روند.هیچیک از درختان باغ عدن در شکوه و بزرگی با تو همسری کرده نمی توانست، اما حالا با درختان باغ عدن و آن کسانی که با ضرب شمشیر کشته شده اند، یکجا در دنیای مردگان سقوط می کنی. ای فرعون، من، خداوند متعال می گویم که این درخت تو هستی.»

¹⁸To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁸هیچیک از درختان باغ عدن در شکوه و بزرگی با تو همسری کرده نمی توانست، اما حالا با درختان باغ عدن و آن کسانی که با ضرب شمشیر کشته شده اند، یکجا در دنیای مردگان سقوط می کنی. ای فرعون، من، خداوند متعال می گویم که این درخت تو هستی.»
