1It happened in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord Yahweh fell there on me.
1در روز پنجم ماه ششم سال ششم تبعید، در خانۀ خود با عده ای از بزرگان یهودا نشسته بودم که ناگهان خداوند متعال به من نیرو بخشید.
2Then I saw, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire; from the appearance of his waist and downward, fire; and from his waist and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal.
2نگاه کردم و شبحی به شکل انسان در برابر من ظاهر شد. بدن او از کمر پائین مثل شعله های آتش بود و از کمر بالا مانند یک شئی براقِ فلزی می درخشید.
3He put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and the sky, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looks toward the north; where there was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.
3بعد چیزی به شکل یک دست دراز شد و از موی سرم گرفت. آنگاه روح خدا در رؤیا مرا بین زمین و آسمان بالا برد و به اورشلیم به دهن دروازۀ شمالی صحن داخلی عبادتگاه آورد و در جایگاه بتی که باعث خشم خداوند شده بود قرارم داد.
4Behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the appearance that I saw in the plain.
4در آنجا حضور با شکوه خداوند طوریکه در دشت دیده بودم، تجلی داشت.
5Then he said to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and see, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
5سپس خداوند به من فرمود: «ای انسان خاکی، حالا به طرف شمال نگاه کن.» من به آن طرف نگاه کردم و آن بت را که باعث خشم خداوند شده بود، دیدم که در دهن دروازۀ شمالی قربانگاه قرار دارد.
6He said to me, Son of man, do you see what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel do commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But you shall again see yet other great abominations.
6خداوند به من فرمود: «ای انسان خاکی، می بینی که قوم اسرائیل به چه کارهائی دست می زنند؟ آن ها در آنجا به اعمال زشت و نفرت انگیز دست می زنند و باعث می شوند از خانۀ مقدسم دور شوم. اما اینها چیزی نیست، گناهان بدتر از اینها را می بینی.»
7He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.
7بعد مرا به دهن دروازۀ حویلی عبادتگاه برد. در آنجا سوراخی را در دیوار دیدم.
8Then he said to me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dug in the wall, behold, a door.
8به من گفت: «ای انسان خاکی، دیوار را بِکن.» وقتی دیوار را کندم، دروازه ای پدید شد.
9He said to me, Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.
9گفت: «حالا داخل شو و ببین که آن ها به چه کارهای زشت و قبیح دست می زنند.»
10So I went in and saw; and see, every form of creeping things, and abominable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around on the wall.
10پس من داخل شدم و دیدم تصاویر هرگونه حیوانات از قبیل خزندگان و حیوانات نجس و زشت بر دیوارها نقش شده بودند و تمام بتهای قوم اسرائیل در آنجا وجود داشتند.
11There stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel; and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, every man with his censer in his hand; and the odor of the cloud of incense went up.
11هفتاد نفر از ریش سفیدان قوم اسرائیل با یازَنیا (پسر شافان) در برابر آن ها ایستاده بودند. در دست هر کدام آن ها یک منقل آتش بود که از آن دود خوشبوئی مثل ابر بر می خاست.
12Then he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? for they say, Yahweh doesn’t see us; Yahweh has forsaken the land.
12خداوند به من فرمود: «ای انسان خاکی، آیا می بینی که مو سفیدان قوم اسرائیل در آن اطاق تاریک پُر از بتها چه می کنند؟ آن ها می گویند: خداوند ما را نمی بیند؛ او سرزمین ما را ترک کرده است.»
13He said also to me, You shall again see yet other great abominations which they do.
13خداوند اضافه کرد: «بعداً گناهان بدتری از اینها را که این مردم مرتکب می شوند، می بینی.»
14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yahweh’s house which was toward the north; and see, there sat the women weeping for Tammuz.
14سپس مرا به دهن دروازۀ شمالی عبادتگاه خداوند آورد. در آنجا زنها را دیدم که نشسته بودند و در مرگ خدای خود، تموز، گریه می کردند.
15Then he said to me, Have you seen this, son of man? You shall again see yet greater abominations than these.
15به من گفت: «ای انسان خاکی، ببین! اما بدتر از اینها را می بینی.»
16He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and see, at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple, and their faces toward the east; and they were worshipping the sun toward the east.
16از آنجا مرا به صحن داخلی عبادتگاه خداوند آورد. در دهن دروازۀ عبادتگاه خداوند، بین بَرَنده و قربانگاه، بیست و پنج مرد که پشت شان بطرف معبد و روی شان بسوی مشرق بود، ایستاده بودند و آفتاب را پرستش می کردند.
17Then he said to me, Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger: and behold, they put the branch to their nose.
17خداوند به من فرمود: «ای انسان خاکی، می بینی؟ آیا لازم است که مردم یهودا مرتکب چنین کارهای زشت و قبیح شوند؟ آیا مجبور هستند که ظلم و ستم را در سراسر کشور پخش کنند و به آتش خشم من دامن بزنند؟ ببین که به چه بی شرمی به من اهانت می کنند.بنابران با خشم و غضب با آن ها رفتار می کنم و با نگاه محبت به آن ها نمی نگرم. بر آن ها رحم نشان نمی دهم و هرقدر برای کمک فریاد و زاری کنند، نمی شنوم.»
18Therefore will I also deal in wrath; my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
18بنابران با خشم و غضب با آن ها رفتار می کنم و با نگاه محبت به آن ها نمی نگرم. بر آن ها رحم نشان نمی دهم و هرقدر برای کمک فریاد و زاری کنند، نمی شنوم.»
