1Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause those who are in charge of the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
1آنگاه خداوند با آواز بلند گفت: «مأمورین مجازات را احضار کن و هر کدام سلاح خود را همراه خود بیاورد.»
2Behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man in their midst clothed in linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side. They went in, and stood beside the bronze altar.
2ناگهان شش مرد از راه دروازۀ شمالی عبادتگاه آمدند و هر یک سلاح خود را در دست داشت. همراه آن ها مردی بود با لباس کتانی که قلم و دوات با خود داشت. آن ها به داخل عبادتگاه رفتند و کنار قربانگاه برنجی ایستادند.
3The glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house: and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side.
3سپس جلال حضور خدای اسرائیل که بالای موجودات بالدار قرار داشت برخاست و به آستانۀ عبادتگاه آمد و به آن مردی که لباس کتانی به تن و قلم و دوات در دست داشت،
4Yahweh said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done in its midst.
4فرمود: «به سراسر شهر اورشلیم برو و بر پیشانی کسانی که بخاطر اعمال زشتی که در این شهر صورت می گیرد، گریه و ناله می کنند، یک نشانی بگذار.»
5To the others he said in my hearing, Go through the city after him, and strike: don’t let your eye spare, neither have pity;
5سپس شنیدم که به دیگران چنین فرمود: «به دنبال او به شهر بروید و کسانی را که بر پیشانی خود نشانی ندارند، بکشید و احدی را زنده نگذارید و به کسی رحم نکنید.
6kill utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin, and little children and women; but don’t come near any man on whom is the mark: and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the old men that were before the house.
6مردان پیر و جوان، دختران جوان، کودکان و زنان را بکشید، اما به کسانی که بر پیشانی خود علامت دارند، ضرر نرسانید. اول از عبادتگاه من شروع کنید.» پس آن ها از مو سفیدانی که در پیشروی عبادتگاه خدا بودند شروع به کشتار کردند.
7He said to them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go forth! They went forth, and struck in the city.
7بعد به آن ها فرمود: «بروید این عبادتگاه را نجس سازید و حویلی آن را با اجساد کشته شدگان پُر کنید.» پس آن ها رفتند و مردم را در شهر کشتند.
8It happened, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell on my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord Yahweh! will you destroy all the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your wrath on Jerusalem?
8وقتی آن ها برای کشتن مردم رفتند و من تنها ماندم، رو بخاک افتادم و با زاری گفتم: «ای خداوند متعال، آیا تو بر اورشلیم آنقدر قهر هستی که می خواهی هر کسی را که در اسرائیل باقی مانده باشد، هلاک کنی؟»
9Then he said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion: for they say, Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh doesn’t see.
9خداوند فرمود: «گناه مردم اسرائیل و یهودا بی نهایت است. سرزمین شان از خونریزی و جنایت پُر است و در اورشلیم ظلم و ستم حکمفرماست. مردم می گویند: «خداوند این سرزمین را ترک کرده است و کارهای ما را نمی بیند.»
10As for me also, my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.
10بنابران من به آن ها با نظر محبت نمی نگرم و بر آن ها رحم نمی کنم، بلکه همه را به سزای اعمال شان می رسانم.»آنگاه مردی که لباس کتانی پوشیده بود و قلم و دوات با خود داشت، آمد و گفت: «امر تو بجا آورده شد.»
11Behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as you have commanded me.
