¹God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,

¹خدا در ایام قدیم، در اوقات بسیار و به راه های مختلف به وسیلۀ انبیاء با پدران ما تکلم فرمود،

²has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.

²ولی در این روزهای آخر به وسیلۀ پسر خود با ما سخن گفته است. خدا این پسر را وارث کل کائنات گردانیده و به وسیلۀ او همۀ عالم هستی را آفریده است.

³His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

³آن پسر، فروغ جلال خدا و مظهر کامل وجود اوست و کائنات را با کلام پُر قدرت خود نگه می دارد و پس از آنکه آدمیان را از گناهان شان پاک گردانید، در عالم بالا در دست راست حضرت اعلی نشست.

⁴having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have.

⁴همان طور که مقام او از مقام فرشتگان بالا تر بود، نامی که به او داده شد از نام آن ها برتر می باشد،

⁵For to which of the angels did he say at any time, “You are my Son. Today have I become your father?” Psalm 2:7 and again, “I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?” 2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13

⁵زیرا خدا هرگز به هیچ یک از فرشتگان نگفته است که:«تو پسر من هستی، امروز پدر تو شده ام.» و یا:«من برای او پدر خواهم بود و او پسر من خواهد بود.»

⁶Again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him.”

⁶و باز وقتی نخست زاده را به دنیا می فرستد می فرماید:«همۀ فرشتگان خدا او را بپرستند.»

⁷Of the angels he says, “Who makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire.” Psalm 104:4

⁷اما دربارۀ فرشتگان می فرماید:«خدا فرشتگانش را به صورت باد و خادمانش را مثل شعله های آتش می گرداند.»

⁸But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom.

⁸اما دربارۀ پسر فرمود:«ای خدا، تخت سلطنت تو ابدی است و با عدالت حکومت می کنی.

⁹You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.” Psalm 45:6-7

⁹تو راستی را دوست داشته و از ناراستی نفرت داری. از این جهت خدا، یعنی خدای تو، تو را با روغن شادمانی بیشتر از رفقایت مسح کرده است.»

¹⁰And, “You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the works of your hands.

¹⁰و نیز:«تو ای خداوند، در ابتدا زمین را آفریدی و آسمان ها کار دست های توست.

¹¹They will perish, but you continue. They all will grow old like a garment does.

¹¹آن ها از میان خواهند رفت، اما تو باقی خواهی ماند. همۀ آن ها مثل لباس کهنه خواهند شد.

¹²As a mantle, you will roll them up, and they will be changed; but you are the same. Your years will not fail.” Psalm 102:25-27

¹²تو آن ها را مانند ردای به هم خواهی پیچید. بلی، چون آن ها مثل هر لباسی تغییر خواهند کرد. اما تو همان هستی و سال های تو پایانی نخواهد داشت.»

¹³But which of the angels has he told at any time, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?” Psalm 110:1

¹³خدا به کدام یک از فرشتگان خود هرگز گفته است:«به دست راست من بنشین، تا دشمنانت را پای انداز تو گردانم؟»پس فرشتگان چه هستند؟ همۀ آن ها ارواحی هستند که خدا را خدمت می کنند و فرستاده می شوند تا وارثان نجات را یاری نمایند.

¹⁴Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
