¹Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.

¹به این سبب ما باید هرچه بیشتر به آنچه شنیده ایم توجه کنیم، مبادا گمراه شویم.

²For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;

²صحت کلامی که به وسیلۀ فرشتگان بیان شد چنان به ثبوت رسید که هر خطا و نافرمانی نسبت به آن با مجازات لازم روبرو می شد.

³how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;

³پس اگر ما نجاتی به این بزرگی را نادیده بگیریم چگونه می توانیم از جزای آن بگریزیم؟ زیرا در ابتدا خود خداوند این نجات را اعلام نمود و آنانی که سخن او را شنیده بودند، حقیقتش را برای ما تصدیق و تأیید کردند.

⁴God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

⁴در عین حال، خدا با آیات و عجایب و انواع معجزات و عطایای روح القدس مطابق ارادۀ خود گواهی آنها را تصدیق فرمود.

⁵For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.

⁵خدا فرشتگان را فرمانروایان دنیای آینده ـ دنیایی که موضوع سخن ماست ـ قرار نداد،

⁶But one has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?

⁶بلکه در جایی گفته شده است:«انسان چیست که او را به یاد آوری؟ یا بنی آدم که به او توجه نمائی؟

⁷You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor. TR adds “and set him over the works of your hands”

⁷اندک زمانی او را پائین تر از فرشتگان ساختی، و تاج جلال و افتخار را بر سر او گذاشتی،

⁸You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” Psalm 8:4-6 For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t see all things subjected to him, yet.

⁸و همه چیز را تحت فرمان او درآوردی.» پس اگر خدا همه چیز را تحت فرمان او درآورده، معلوم است که دیگر چیزی باقی نمانده که در اختیار او نباشد، اما در حال حاضر ما هنوز نمی بینیم که همه چیز در اختیار او باشد.

⁹But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.

⁹اما عیسی را می بینیم که اندک زمانی پائین تر از فرشتگان قرار گرفت، ولی اکنون تاج جلال و افتخار بر سر دارد، زیرا او متحمل مرگ شد تا به وسیلۀ فیض خدا، به خاطر تمام آدمیان طعم مرگ را بچشد.

¹⁰For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

¹⁰شایسته بود که خدا ـ آفریدگار و نگهدار همه چیز ـ برای اینکه فرزندان بسیاری را به جلال برساند عیسی را نیز که پدید آورندۀ نجات آنها است از راه درد و رنج به کمال رساند.

¹¹For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” ,

¹¹آن کس که مردم را از گناهان شان پاک می گرداند و آنانی که پاک می شوند همگی یک پدر دارند و به این جهت عیسی عار ندارد که آدمیان را برادران خود بخواند،

¹²saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” Psalm 22:22

¹²چنانکه می فرماید:«نام تو را به برادرانم اعلام خواهم کرد، و در میان جماعت تو را حمد خواهم خواند.»

¹³Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Isaiah 8:17 Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.” Isaiah 8:18

¹³و نیز گفته است: «به او توکل خواهم نمود.» باز هم می فرماید: «اینک من، و فرزندانی که خدا به من داده است.»

¹⁴Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

¹⁵و آن کسانی را که به سبب ترس از مرگ تمام عمر در بردگی به سر برده اند، آزاد سازد.

¹⁶For most certainly, he doesn’t give help to angels, but he gives help to the seed of Abraham.

¹⁶البته او برای یاری فرشتگان نیامد، بلکه به خاطر نسل ابراهیم آمده است.

¹⁷Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

¹⁷پس کاملاً لازم بود که او از هر لحاظ مانند برادران خود بشود تا به عنوان کاهن اعظم آنها در امور خدا، رحیم و وفادار باشد تا گناهان مردم را کفاره نماید.چون خود او وسوسه و رنج دیده است، قادر است آنانی را که با وسوسه ها روبرو هستند، یاری فرماید.

¹⁸For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
