1Then Yahweh said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
1بعد خداوند به من فرمود: «اگر موسی و سموئیل هم در حضور من می ایستادند و برای این قوم شفاعت می نمودند، بر آن ها رحم نمی کردم. آن ها را از نظر من دور کن و بگذار که بروند!
2It shall happen, when they tell you, Where shall we go forth? Then you shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.
2هرگاه بپرسند که کجا بروند. بگو که خداوند چنین می فرماید: کسیکه مستوجب مرگ است بسوی مرگ، آنکه باید با شمشیر کشته شود بسوی شمشیر، هر کسیکه باید از قحطی بمیرد، بسوی قحطی و هر که سزاوار اسارت است بسوی اسارت.
3I will appoint over them four kinds, says Yahweh: the sword to kill, and the dogs to tear, and the birds of the sky, and the animals of the earth, to devour and to destroy.
3من چهار نوع بلا را بر آن ها نازل می کنم: شمشیر را برای کشتن آن ها، سگها را برای دریدن آن ها، مرغان هوا را برای خوردن گوشت آن ها و حیوانات وحشی را برای خوردن و هلاکت آن ها. خداوند چنین فرموده است.
4I will cause them to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
4من آن ها را بخاطر کارهای زشتی که منسی، پسر حزقیا، پادشاه یهودا در اورشلیم کرد چنان جزای سختی می دهم که تمام ممالک جهان از شنیدن آن به وحشت بیفتند.»
5For who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? or who will bemoan you? or who will turn aside to ask of your welfare?
5خداوند می فرماید: «ای مردم اورشلیم، چه کسی بر شما رحم می کند؟ چه کسی برای شما می گرید و چه کسی از احوال شما می پرسد؟
6You have rejected me, says Yahweh, you have gone backward: therefore have I stretched out my hand against you, and destroyed you; I am weary with repenting.
6چون شما مرا ترک کردید و از من روگردان شدید، بنابران، من هم دست خود را دراز می کنم تا شما را از بین ببرم و نمی توانم بر شما رحم کنم.
7I have winnowed them with a fan in the gates of the land; I have bereaved them of children, I have destroyed my people; they didn’t return from their ways.
7من شما را دَم دروازه های شهرهای تان غربال می کنم و همۀ تان را بی اولاد ساخته از بین می برم، زیرا از اعمال بد تان دست نکشیدید.
8Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas; I have brought on them against the mother of the young men a destroyer at noonday: I have caused anguish and terrors to fall on her suddenly.
8تعداد بیوه زنان تان مثل ریگ دریا زیاد می شود. هنگام ظهر مرگ ناگهانی را بر جوانان تان می آورم، مادران شان را داغدار می سازم و ترس و وحشت را بر آن شهر می آورم.
9She who has borne seven languishes; she has given up the spirit; her sun is gone down while it was yet day; she has been disappointed and confounded: and their residue will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, says Yahweh.
9زنی که صاحب هفت طفل است از غم و غصه بحال مرگ می افتد. آفتاب حیات او پیش از وقت، غروب می کند و خجل و رسوا می شود. بقیۀ آن ها را با شمشیر دشمن هلاک می سازم.» خداوند فرموده است.
10Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet everyone of them curses me.
10وای بحال من که چه انسان بدبختی هستم. ای کاش مادرم هرگز مرا بدنیا نمی آورد. به هر جا که می روم باید با هر کس جنگ و مجادله کنم. نه به کسی قرض داده ام و نه از کسی قرض گرفته ام، با اینهم همه نفرینم می کنند.
11Yahweh said, Most certainly I will strengthen you for good; most certainly I will cause the enemy to make supplication to you in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
11خداوند فرمود: «به یقین من زندگی ترا بهتر می سازم تا دشمنانت در هنگام سختی محتاج به کمک تو شوند.
12Can one break iron, even iron from the north, and brass?
12هیچ کسی نمی تواند یک شئی آهنی، مخصوصاً آهن کشورهای شمال را که با برنج مخلوط شده است، بشکند.
13Your substance and your treasures will I give for a spoil without price, and that for all your sins, even in all your borders.
13بخاطر گناهانی که در تمام این سرزمین مرتکب شده اید، ثروت و گنج های تان را رایگان و بعنوان غنیمت به دشمنان می دهم.
14I will make them to pass with your enemies into a land which you don’t know; for a fire is kindled in my anger, which shall burn on you.
14شما را وادار می سازم که در کشورهای بیگانه خدمت دشمنان را بکنید، زیرا آتش خشم مرا برافروخته اید و شعلۀ آن شما را می سوزاند.»
15Yahweh, you know; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; don’t take me away in your longsuffering: know that for your sake I have suffered reproach.
15من گفتم: «ای خداوند، تو همه چیز را می دانی، پس مرا بیاد آور. به من کمک کن و انتقام مرا از ستمگارانم بگیر. در مورد آن ها که می خواهند مرا بکشند صبور نباش و بدان که بخاطر تو متحمل اینهمه خواری و حقارت شده ام.
16Your words were found, and I ate them; and your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, Yahweh, God of Armies.
16کلام ترا شنیدم، هر کلمۀ آنرا بخاطر سپردم و به قلب و روح من فرحت بخشید، زیرا ای خداوند قادر مطلق، من نام ترا بر خود دارم.
17I didn’t sit in the assembly of those who make merry, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of your hand; for you have filled me with indignation.
17در مجالس مردم خوشگذران شرکت نکرده ام، بلکه به امر تو گوشۀ تنهائی را اختیار نمودم و گناهان آن ها مرا خشمناک ساخت.
18Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? Will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, as waters that fail?
18چرا دردهای من آرام نمی گیرند و چرا زخم های من علاج ناپذیر اند و التیام نمی یابند؟ آیا می خواهی مرا مثل تشنه ای که به امید آب به جوی خشک می رود، ناامید سازی؟»
19Therefore thus says Yahweh, If you return, then will I bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: they shall return to you, but you shall not return to them.
19خداوند در جواب من فرمود: «اگر بسوی من بازگردی، من هم ترا می پذیرم و می توانی مرا خدمت نمائی. اگر سخنان بیهوده را بر زبان نیاوری و سنجیده حرف بزنی، می توانی پیام مرا به مردم برسانی. آنگاه به تو رجوع می کنند و تو دنبال آن ها نخواهی رفت.
20I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you, says Yahweh.
20من ترا در برابر این مردم مانند یک دیوار محکم برنجی می سازم. آن ها با تو می جنگند، ولی تو بر آن ها غالب می شوی، زیرا من، خداوند که با تو هستم، ترا محافظت می کنم و نجات می دهم.از دست افراد شریر آزادت می کنم و از چنگ مردم ستمگر رهایت می سازم.»
21I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.
21از دست افراد شریر آزادت می کنم و از چنگ مردم ستمگر رهایت می سازم.»
