1“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
1طوفان دل مرا به لرزه می آورد و بشدت تکان می دهد.
2Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
2غرش صدای خدا را بشنوید و به زمزمه ای که از دهان او خارج می شود، گوش بدهید.
3He sends it forth under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
3او برق را به سراسر آسمان می فرستد و هر گوشۀ زمین را روشن می کند.
4After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
4بعد غرش صدای او همچون آواز با هیبت رعد به گوش می رسد و با صدای او تیرهای برق پیهم رها می شوند.
5God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
5به فرمان خدا کارهای عجیبی رخ می دهند که عقل ما از درک آن ها عاجز است.
6For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth;’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
6به برف امر می کند که بر زمین ببارد و وقتیکه بارش باران بر زمین شروع می شود،
7He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
7مردم دست از کار می کشند و متوجه قدرت او می شوند.
8Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
8حیوانات وحشی به بیشۀ خود می شتابند و در آنجا پناه می برند.
9Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
9طوفان از جنوب می آید و بادِ سرد از شمال.
10By the breath of God, ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen.
10خدا بر آب بحرهای وسیع می دمد و آن را منجمد می سازد.
11Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
11ابر ها را از رطوبت پُر می کند و برق خود را بوسیلۀ آن ها به هر سو می فرستد.
12It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
12به فرمان او به همه جا حرکت می کنند و آنچه را که خدا اراده می فرماید، بجا می آورند.
13Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
13او باران را برای مجازات مردم یا بعنوان رحمت برای انسان و آبیاری زمین می فرستد.
14“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
14ای ایوب، بشنو و لحظه ای در بارۀ کارهای عجیب خدا تأمل کن.
15Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
15آیا می دانی که خدا چگونه ارادۀ خود را عملی می سازد و برق را چسان در بین ابر ها تولید می کند؟
16Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
16آیا می دانی که چطور ابر ها در هوا معلق می مانند؟ اینها همه کارهای شگفت آور خدائی می باشند که در دانش و حکمت کامل است.
17You whose clothing is warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
17وقتی زمین در اثر باد جنوب داغ می شود و لباسهایت از گرمی به تنت می چسپند،
18Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
18آیا تو می توانی مثل او، شکل آسمان را که همچون آئینه سخت است، تغییر بدهی؟
19Teach us what we shall tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.
19به ما یاد بده که به او چه بگوئیم، زیرا فکر ما نارسا است و نمی دانیم که چگونه با او صحبت کنیم.
20Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
20من جرأت آن را ندارم که با خدا حرف بزنم، زیرا می ترسم که کشته شوم.
21Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
21همانطوریکه نمی توانیم در وقتی که آسمان صاف و بی ابر باشد به نور درخشان آفتاب نگاه کنیم،
22Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
22به همان قسم نیز نمی توانیم به جلال با هیبت خدا که با شکوه تمام بر ما می درخشد، خیره شویم.
23We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
23خدای قادر مطلق آنقدر با عظمت است که ما حتی تصور کرده نمی توانیم. او در قدرت و عدالت بزرگ است و نسبت به همه از روی انصاف رفتار می کند و بر کسی ظلم روا نمی دارد.بنابران، همۀ انسانها از او می ترسند و او به کسانی که ادعای حکمت می کنند، توجه ندارد.»
24Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
