1It happened, when Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,
1وقتی خبر فتوحات یوشع به گوش یابین، پادشاه حاصور رسید، یک پیام فوری به این پادشاهان فرستاد: یوباب پادشاه مادون، پادشاهان شِمرون و اَخشاف،
2and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,
2پادشاهان کوهستان شمالی، پادشاهان عربه در جنوب کِنروت و هامون، پادشاهان نافوت دُر در غرب،
3to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
3پادشاهان کنعان در سمت شرق و غرب، پادشاهان اموریان، پادشاهان حِتیان، پادشاهان فِرزِیان، پادشاهان یبوسیان در کوهستان، پادشاهان حویان در دامنۀ کوه حِرمون در سرزمین مِصفه.
4They went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.
4آن ها همگی قوای خود را جمع کرده یک سپاه متحد تشکیل دادند که مثل ریگ دریا بیشمار بود و همراه با اسپان و عراده های جنگی در کنار چشمه های میرُوم اردو زده برای جنگ با اسرائیل آماده شدند.
5All these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
5خداوند به یوشع فرمود: «نترس، زیرا فردا در همین وقت همۀ شان را کُشته به دست مردم اسرائیل می دهم. رگ پای اسپان شان را قطع کنید و عراده های شان را آتش بزنید.»
6Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
6پس یوشع با سپاه خود به می روم رفت و با یک حملۀ ناگهانی آن ها را شکست داد.
7So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell on them.
7و خداوند آن ها را به دست مردم اسرائیل تسلیم کرد. و عساکر اسرائیل دشمنان را تا به صیدون بزرگ و مِسرِفوت مایم در شمال و وادی مِصفه در شرق تعقیب کرده همه را کشتند و یکی آن ها را هم زنده نگذاشت.
8Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward. They struck them until they left them none remaining.
8و یوشع همان طوریکه خداوند امر فرموده بود با آن ها معامله کرد، رگ پای اسپان شان را قطع کرد و همه عراده جات شان را آتش زد.
9Joshua did to them as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung their horses and burnt their chariots with fire.
9یوشع در راه بازگشت حاصور را تصرف کرد و پادشاه آنرا کشت، زیرا حاصور در آن زمان نیرومندترین سلطنت ها بود.
10Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword: for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.
10همه باشندگان آنجا را با شمشیر کشت. هیچ زنده جانی را زنده نگذاشت و خود حاصور را به آتش کشید.
11They struck all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. He burnt Hazor with fire.
11بعد به شهرهای دیگر هم حمله کرد. همه را از بین برد و پادشاهان شان را به قتل رساند. همانطوریکه موسی، خدمتگار خداوند هدایت داده بود.
12Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded.
12اما یوشع از تمام شهرهائی که بر تپه ها بنا شده بودند، تنها شهر حاصور را به آتش کشید.
13But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only. Joshua burned that.
13تمام غنیمت و گله و رمه را که بنی اسرائیل به دست آوردند، برای خود نگهداشتند، اما همۀ مردم را با دم شمشیر کشتند. و هیچ کسی و هیچ زنده جانی را زنده نگذاشتند.
14The children of Israel took all the spoil of these cities, with the livestock, as spoils for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They didn’t leave any who breathed.
14و یوشع طبق امر خداوند به خدمتگار خود موسی و هدایت موسی رفتار کرد و همه اوامر خداوند را موبمو اجراء کرد.
15As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
15به این ترتیب، یوشع تمام آن سرزمین را که عبارت بود از همه کوهستانها، منطقۀ جنوبی، منطقۀ جوشَن، دشتها، وادی اُردن، کوهستان های اسرائیل و وادیهای آنرا تصرف کرد.
16So Joshua captured all that land, the hill country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel, and the lowland of the same;
16و قلمرو اسرائیل از کوه حالَق، در نزدیکی سعیر تا بعل جاد در وادی لبنان، در دامنۀ کوه حِرمون وسعت یافت. و یوشع پادشاهان شان را دستگیر کرد و به قتل رساند.
17from Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon. He took all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.
17این جنگ ها سالهای زیادی را در بر گرفت.
18Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
18تنها کسانی که با مردم اسرائیل صلح کردند، حویان، باشندگان جِبعون بودند. ولی همه شهرهای دیگر را تصرف کردند و از بین بردند.
19There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took all in battle.
19چون خواست خدا بود که دلهای شان سخت باشند و با مردم اسرائیل جنگ کنند. و به این ترتیب، بر آن ها رحم نشود و بکلی از بین بروند. چنانکه خداوند به موسی فرموده بود.
20For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
20در عین حال، یوشع، عناقیانی را که در منطقۀ کوهستانی حِبرون، دَبیر، عَناب و کوههای یهودا و اسرائیل زندگی می کردند، کشت و آن ها را با شهرهای شان بکلی نابود کرد.
21Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel: Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
21و از عناقیان یک نفر هم در سرزمین اسرائیل زنده نماند، اما بعضی از آن ها در غزه، جَت و اَشدُود باقی ماندند.به این ترتیب، یوشع، قراریکه خداوند به موسی امر فرموده بود، تمام آن سرزمین را به دست آورد و آنرا بعنوان ملکیت به قوم اسرائیل داد و بعد آنرا به تمام قبایل تقسیم کرد. بالاخره در آن کشور آرامی برقرار شد.
22There were none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
22به این ترتیب، یوشع، قراریکه خداوند به موسی امر فرموده بود، تمام آن سرزمین را به دست آورد و آنرا بعنوان ملکیت به قوم اسرائیل داد و بعد آنرا به تمام قبایل تقسیم کرد. بالاخره در آن کشور آرامی برقرار شد.
23So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh spoke to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. The land had rest from war.
