¹Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

¹عیسی پُر از روح القدس از دریای اُردن بازگشت و روح خدا او را به بیابانها برد

²for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.

²و در آنجا شیطان او را مدت چهل روز با وسوسه ها آزمایش می کرد. او در آن روزها چیزی نخورد و آخر گرسنه شد.

³The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

³شیطان به او گفت: «اگر تو پسر خدا هستی به این سنگ بگو تا نان شود.»

⁴Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” Deuteronomy 8:3

⁴عیسی جواب داد: «نوشته شده است که انسان فقط با نان زندگی نمی کند.»

⁵The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁵بعد شیطان او را به بالای کوهی برد و در یک چشم بهم زدن تمام ممالک دنیا را به او نشان داد

⁶The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.

⁶و گفت: «تمامی اختیارات این قلمرو و همۀ شکوه و جلال آن را به تو خواهم بخشید، زیرا در اختیار من است و من می توانم آن را به هر که بخواهم ببخشم.

⁷If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”

⁷اگر تو مرا سجده کنی صاحب همۀ آن خواهی شد.»

⁸Jesus answered him, “Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’” Deuteronomy 6:13

⁸عیسی به او جواب داد: «نوشته شده است: خداوند، خدای خود را پرستش کن و فقط او را خدمت نما.»

⁹He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,

⁹سپس شیطان او را به اورشلیم برد و بر بام عبادتگاه قرار داد و به او: «اگر تو پسر خدا هستی خود را از اینجا به پایین بینداز،

¹⁰for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’

¹⁰زیرا نوشته شده است: او به فرشتگان خود فرمان خواهد داد تا تو را محافظت کنند.

¹¹and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’” Psalm 91:11-12

¹¹و نیز نوشته شده است: تو را در دستهای خود نگاه خواهند داشت، مبادا پایت به سنگی بخورد.»

¹²Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Deuteronomy 6:16

¹²عیسی به او جواب داد: «نوشته شده است که نباید خداوند، خدای خود را بیازمایی.»

¹³When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.

¹³شیطان پس از آنکه تمام وسوسه های خود را به پایان رسانید مدتی او را تنها گذاشت.

¹⁴Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.

¹⁴عیسی با قدرت روح القدس به ولایت جلیل برگشت و شهرت او سرتاسر آن ناحیه را پُر ساخت.

¹⁵He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

¹⁵در کنیسه های آنها تعلیم می داد و همۀ مردم او را تعریف می کردند.

¹⁶He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

¹⁶به این ترتیب به شهر ناصره، جایی که در آن کلان شده بود، آمد و در روز سَبَت مثل همیشه به کنیسه رفت و برای قرائت کلام خدا برخاست.

¹⁷The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,

¹⁷کتاب اشعیای نبی را به او دادند. کتاب را باز کرد و آن قسمتی را یافت که می فرماید:

¹⁸ “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, NU omits “to heal the brokenhearted” to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

¹⁸«روح خداوند بر من است، او مرا مسح کرده است تا به بینوایان مژده دهم. مرا فرستاده است تا آزادی اسیران و بینایی کوران و رهایی ستمدیدگان را اعلام کنم

¹⁹ and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Isaiah 61:1-2

¹⁹و سال فرخندۀ خداوند را اعلام نمایم.»

²⁰He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.

²⁰کتاب را بسته کرد و به سرپرست کنیسه داد و نشست. در کنیسه تمام چشمها به او دوخته شده بود.

²¹He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

²¹او شروع به صحبت کرد و به ایشان گفت: «امروز در حالی که گوش می دادید، این نوشته تمام شده است.»

²²All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

²²همۀ حاضران او را آفرین می گفتند و از کلمات فیض بخشی که می گفت تعجب می نمودند. آن ها می گفتند: «مگر این مرد پسر یوسف نیست؟»

²³He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this parable, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”

²³عیسی گفت: «بدون شک در مورد من این ضرب المثل را خواهید گفت که ای طبیب خود را شفا بده. شما همچنین خواهید گفت که ما شرح همۀ کارهایی را که تو در کَپَرناحوم کرده ای شنیده ایم، همان کارها را در شهر خود انجام بده.»

²⁴He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

²⁴عیسی ادامه داد و گفت: «در واقع هیچ پیامبری در شهر خود قبول نمی شود.

²⁵ But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.

²⁵بیقین بدانید، در زمان الیاس که مدت سه سال و شش ماه آسمان بسته شد و قحطی سختی در تمام زمین بوجود آمد، بیوه زنان بسیاری در اسرائیل بودند.

²⁶ Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.

²⁶با وجود این الیاس پیش هیچ یک از آنها فرستاده نشد، مگر پیش بیوه زنی در شهر زَرِفت صیدون.

²⁷ There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.”

²⁷همینطور در زمان الیشع نبی، جذامیان بسیاری در اسرائیل بودند ولی هیچکدام از آنها جز نعمان سُریانی شفا نیافت.»

²⁸They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.

²⁸از شنیدن این سخن همۀ حاضران در کنیسه غضبناک شدند.

²⁹They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.

²⁹آن ها برخاستند و او را از شهر بیرون کردند و به لب تپه ای که شهر بر روی آن ساخته شده بود بردند تا او را به پایین بیندازند.

³⁰But he, passing through their midst, went his way.

³⁰اما او از میان آنها گذشت و رفت.

³¹He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,

³¹عیسی به کَپَرناحوم که یکی از شهرهای جلیل است آمد و مردم را در روز سَبَت تعلیم داد.

³²and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.

³²مردم از تعالیم او تعجب کردند، زیرا کلام او با قدرت ادا می شد.

³³In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

³³در کنیسه مردی حضور داشت که دارای روح ناپاک بود. او با صدای بلند فریاد زد:

³⁴saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”

³⁴«ای عیسی ناصری، با ما چکار داری؟ آیا آمده ای ما را نابود کنی؟ تو را خوب می شناسم، ای قدوس خدا.»

³⁵Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

³⁵عیسی او را ملامت کرد و فرمود: «خاموش شو و از او بیرون بیا.» روح ناپاک پس از آنکه آن مرد را در برابر مردم به زمین کوبید، بدون آنکه به او ضرری برساند او را ترک کرد.

³⁶Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

³⁶همه متحیر شدند و به یکدیگر می گفتند: «این چه نوع فرمانی است؟ به ارواح ناپاک با اختیار و قدرت فرمان می دهد و آن ها بیرون می روند.»

³⁷News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.

³⁷به این ترتیب شهرت او در تمام آن ناحیه پیچید.

³⁸He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her.

³⁸عیسی از کنیسه بیرون آمد و به خانۀ شَمعون رفت. خشوی شَمعون به تب شدیدی مبتلا بود. از عیسی خواستند که به او کمک نماید.

³⁹He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

³⁹عیسی بر بالین او ایستاد و با تندی به تب فرمان داد و تب او قطع شد و آن زن فوراً برخاست و به پذیرائی آنها مشغول شد.

⁴⁰When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

⁴⁰هنگام غروب همۀ کسانی که بیمارانی مبتلا به امراض گوناگون داشتند آنها را پیش عیسی آوردند و او دست خود را بر یک یک آنها گذاشت و آنها را شفا داد.

⁴¹Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

⁴¹ارواح ناپاک هم از عدۀ زیادی بیرون آمدند و فریاد می کردند: «تو پسر خدا هستی»، اما او آن ها را سرزنش می کرد و اجازه نمی داد حرف بزنند زیرا آن ها می دانستند که او مسیح وعده شده است.

⁴²When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn’t go away from them.

⁴²وقتی سپیدۀ صبح دمید، عیسی از شهر خارج شد و به جای خلوتی رفت. اما مردم به سراغ او رفتند و وقتی به جایی که او بود رسیدند، کوشش می کردند از رفتن او جلوگیری نمایند.

⁴³But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”

⁴³اما او گفت: «من باید مژدۀ پادشاهی خدا را به شهرهای دیگر هم برسانم چون برای انجام همین کار فرستاده شده ام.»به این ترتیب او پیام خود را در کنیسه های یهودیه اعلام می کرد.

⁴⁴He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
