¹Now it happened, while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.

¹یک روز عیسی در کنار بحیرۀ جنیسارت ایستاده بود و مردم به طرف او هجوم آورده بودند تا کلام خدا را از زبان او بشنوند.

²He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

²عیسی ملاحظه کرد که دو کشتی در آنجا لنگر انداخته اند و ماهیگیران پیاده شده بودند تا تورهای خود را بشویند.

³He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.

³عیسی به یکی از کشتی های که متعلق به شَمعون بود سوار شد و از او تقاضا کرد که کمی از ساحل دور شود و در حالی که در کشتی نشسته بود به تعلیم مردم پرداخت.

⁴When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.”

⁴در پایان صحبت به شَمعون گفت: «به قسمتهای عمیق آب بران و تورهای تان را برای صید به آب بیندازید.»

⁵Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.”

⁵شَمعون جواب داد: «ای استاد، ما تمام شب زحمت کشیدیم و اصلاً چیزی نگرفتیم، اما حالا که تو می فرمایی، من تورها را می اندازم.»

⁶When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking.

⁶آن ها چنین کردند و آنقدر ماهی صید کردند که نزدیک بود تورهای شان پاره شود.

⁷They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came, and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.

⁷پس به همکاران خود که در کشتی دیگر بودند اشاره کردند که به کمک آنها بیایند. ایشان آمدند و هر دو کشتی را از ماهی پُر کردند به طوریکه نزدیک بود غرق شوند.

⁸But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”

⁸وقتی شَمعون پِترُس متوجه شد که چه واقع شده است پیش عیسی زانو زد و عرض کرد: «ای خداوند، از پیش من برو چون من خطاکارم.»

⁹For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught;

⁹او و همۀ همکارانش از صیدی که شده بود متحیر بودند.

¹⁰and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.”

¹⁰همکاران او یعقوب و یوحنا، پسران زَبدی نیز همان حال را داشتند. عیسی به شَمعون فرمود: «نترس، از این پس مردم را صید خواهی کرد.»

¹¹When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.

¹¹به محض اینکه کشتیها را به خشکی آوردند، همه چیز را رها کردند و به دنبال او رفتند.

¹²It happened, while he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

¹²روزی عیسی در شهری بود، تصادفا مردی جذامی در آنجا حضور داشت. وقتی آن جذامی عیسی را دید به پای او افتاد و از او کمک خواسته گفت: «ای آقا، اگر بخواهی می توانی مرا پاک کنی.»

¹³He stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.

¹³عیسی دست خود را دراز کرد، او را لمس نمود و فرمود: «می خواهم، پاک شو.» فوراً جذام او برطرف شد.

¹⁴He commanded him to tell no one, “But go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

¹⁴عیسی به او امر فرمود که این موضوع را به کسی نگوید و افزود: «اما برو خود را به کاهن نشان بده و به خاطر پاک شدنت قربانی ای را که موسی تعیین نموده است تقدیم کن تا برای همه مدرکی باشد.»

¹⁵But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

¹⁵اما عیسی بیش از پیش در تمام آن ناحیه شهرت یافت وعدۀ زیادی گرد آمدند تا سخنان او را بشنوند و از ناخوشی های خود شفا یابند،

¹⁶But he withdrew himself into the desert, and prayed.

¹⁶اما او به خارج از شهر می رفت تا در تنهایی دعا کند.

¹⁷It happened on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them.

¹⁷روزی عیسی مشغول تعلیم بود و پیروان فرقۀ فریسی و معلمین شریعت که از تمام دهات جلیل و از یهودیه و اورشلیم آمده بودند، در دور او نشسته بودند و او با قدرت خداوند بیماران را شفا می داد.

¹⁸Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus.

¹⁸در این هنگام چند مردی دیده شدند که شلی را روی تختی می آوردند. آن ها کوشش می کردند او را به داخل بیاورند و در برابر عیسی به زمین بگذارند.

¹⁹Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the midst before Jesus.

¹⁹اما به علت زیادی جمعیت نتوانستند راهی پیدا کنند که او را به داخل آورند. بنابراین به بام رفتند و او را با تشک از راه چت پایین گذاشتند و در میان جمعیت در برابر عیسی قرار دادند.

²⁰Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

²⁰عیسی وقتی ایمان آن ها را دید فرمود: «ای دوست، گناهان تو بخشیده شد.»

²¹The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”

²¹علمای یهود و پیروان فرقۀ فریسی به یکدیگر می گفتند: «این کیست که حرفهای کفرآمیز می زند؟ چه کسی جز خدا می تواند گناهان را ببخشد؟»

²²But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered them, “Why are you reasoning so in your hearts?

²²اما عیسی افکار آنها را درک کرد و در جواب فرمود: «چرا چنین افکاری در ذهن خود می پرورانید؟

²³ Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you;’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk?’

²³آیا گفتن اینکه گناهان تو بخشیده شد، آسانتر است یا گفتن اینکه بلند شو و راه برو؟

²⁴ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” (he said to the paralyzed man), “I tell you, arise, and take up your cot, and go to your house.”

²⁴اما برای اینکه بدانید پسر انسان در روی زمین قدرت و اختیار آمرزیدن گناهان را دارد»، به آن مرد شل گفت: «به تو می گویم بلند شو، تشک خود را بردار و به خانه برو.»

²⁵Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God.

²⁵او فوراً پیش چشم آنها روی پایهای خود برخاست، تشکی را که روی آن خوابیده بود برداشت و خدا را حمدگویان به خانه رفت.

²⁶Amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today.”

²⁶همه غرق در حیرت شدند و خدا را حمد کردند و با ترس می گفتند: «امروز چیزهای عجیبی دیدیم.»

²⁷After these things he went out, and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow me!”

²⁷بعد از آنکه عیسی بیرون رفت متوجه جزیه گیری به نام لاوی شد که در محل وصول مالیات نشسته بود. به او فرمود: «بدنبال من بیا.»

²⁸He left everything, and rose up and followed him.

²⁸او برخاست، همه چیز را واگذاشت و بدنبال او رفت.

²⁹Levi made a great feast for him in his house. There was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining with them.

²⁹لاوی برای عیسی در خانۀ خود مهمانی کلانی ترتیب داد. عدۀ زیادی از جزیه گیران و اشخاص دیگر با عیسی و شاگردانش سر دسترخوان نشسته بودند.

³⁰Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

³⁰فریسی ها و علمای آن ها از شاگردان عیسی ایراد گرفتند و گفتند: «چرا شما با جزیه گیران و خطاکاران می خورید و می نوشید؟»

³¹Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.

³¹عیسی به آنها جواب داد: «تندرستان احتیاج به طبیب ندارند بلکه بیماران محتاجند.

³² I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

³²من نیامده ام تا پرهیزکاران را به توبه دعوت کنم، بلکه آمده ام تا خطا کاران را دعوت نمایم.»

³³They said to him, “Why do John’s disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?”

³³آنها به او گفتند: «شاگردان یحیی بسیاری اوقات روزه می گیرند و دعا می کنند، شاگردان فریسی ها هم، چنین می کنند، اما شاگردان تو می خورند و می نوشند.»

³⁴He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

³⁴عیسی به ایشان جواب داد: «آیا شما می توانید رفقای داماد را در حالی که داماد با ایشان است به روزه گرفتن مجبور کنید؟

³⁵ But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast in those days.”

³⁵اما ایامی خواهد آمد که داماد از ایشان گرفته خواهد شد، در آن روزها ایشان نیز روزه خواهند گرفت.»

³⁶He also told a parable to them. “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.

³⁶همچنین برای آنها این مَثَل را نقل فرمود: «هیچکس از یک لباس نو تکه ای پاره نمی کند تا با آن، لباس کهنه ای را پینه کند. اگر چنین کند، هم آن لباس نو پاره می شود و هم پینۀ نو مناسب لباس کهنه نیست.

³⁷ No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.

³⁷همچنین هیچکس شراب تازه را در مشکهای کهنه نمی ریزد. اگر بریزد، شراب تازه مشکها را می ترکاند، شراب به هدر می رود و مشکها نیز از بین خواهند رفت.

³⁸ But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.

³⁸بلی، باید شراب تازه را در مشکهای نو ریخت.هیچکس پس از نوشیدن شراب کهنه، شراب تازه نمی خواهد چون می گوید که شراب کهنه بهتر است.»

³⁹ No man having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

³⁹هیچکس پس از نوشیدن شراب کهنه، شراب تازه نمی خواهد چون می گوید که شراب کهنه بهتر است.»
