¹Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first, that he was going through the grain fields. His disciples plucked the heads of grain, and ate, rubbing them in their hands.

¹یک روز سَبَت عیسی از میان کشتزارهای گندم می گذشت. شاگردان او خوشه های گندم را می چیدند و در کف دستهای خود پاک می کردند و می خوردند.

²But some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day?”

²بعضی از پیروان فرقۀ فریسی گفتند: «چرا شما کاری را که در روز سَبَت جایز نیست انجام می دهید؟»

³Jesus, answering them, said, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, he, and those who were with him;

³عیسی جواب داد: «مگر نخوانده اید داود در وقتی که خود و یارانش گرسنه بودند چه کرد؟

⁴ how he entered into God’s house, and took and ate the show bread, and gave also to those who were with him, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests alone?”

⁴او به خانۀ خدا وارد شد و نان تقدیس شده را برداشت و خورد و به یاران خود نیز داد، در صورتیکه خوردن آن نانها برای هیچکس جز کاهنان جایز نیست.»

⁵He said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

⁵همچنین به ایشان فرمود: «پسر انسان صاحب اختیار روز سَبَت است.»

⁶It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.

⁶عیسی در روز سَبَت دیگر، به کنیسه رفت و مشغول تعلیم شد. و مردی در آنجا بود که دست راستش خشک شده بود.

⁷The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.

⁷علمای دین و فریسی ها متوجه بودند که ببینند آیا عیسی او را در روز سَبَت شفا خواهد داد تا مدرکی برضد او به دست آورند.

⁸But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up, and stand in the middle.” He arose and stood.

⁸اما عیسی به افکار آنها پی برد و به مردی که دستش خشک شده بود فرمود: «برخیز و در میان بایست.» او برخاست و آنجا ایستاد.

⁹Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?”

⁹عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «سؤالی از شما دارم: آیا در روز سَبَت نیکی کردن رواست یا بدی کردن؟ جان انسان را نجات دادن یا نابود کردن؟»

¹⁰He looked around at them all, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other.

¹⁰دور تا دور به همۀ آن ها دید و به آن مرد فرمود: «دستت را دراز کن.» او دست خود را دراز کرد و دستش خوب شد.

¹¹But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.

¹¹اما آنها بسیار خشمگین شده در میان خود به گفتگو پرداختند که با عیسی چه می توانند بکنند.

¹²It happened in these days, that he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.

¹²در آن روزها عیسی برای دعا به کوهستان رفت و شب را با دعا به درگاه خدا به صبح رسانید.

¹³When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:

¹³وقتی سپیدۀ صبح دمید شاگردان خود را خواست و از میان آنها دوازده نفر را انتخاب کرد و آن ها را رسولان نامید:

¹⁴Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;

¹⁴شَمعون که به او لقب پِترُس داد و اندریاس برادر او، یعقوب و یوحَنا، فیلیپُس و بارتولما،

¹⁵Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Simon, who was called the Zealot;

¹⁵مَتی و توما، یعقوب پسر حَلفی و شَمعون معروف به فدایی، یهودا پسر یعقوب

¹⁶Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.

¹⁶و یهودای اسخریوطی که به وی خیانت کرد.

¹⁷He came down with them, and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases;

¹⁷عیسی با آنها از کوه پایین آمد و در زمین همواری ایستاد. اجتماع بزرگی از شاگردان او و گروه کثیری از تمام نقاط یهودیه و اورشلیم و اطراف صور و صیدون حضور داشتند.

¹⁸as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits, and they were being healed.

¹⁸آن ها آمده بودند تا سخنان او را بشنوند و از امراض خود شفا یابند. آن کسانی که گرفتار ارواح ناپاک بودند، شفا یافتند

¹⁹All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.

¹⁹و هر کسی در میان جمعیت کوشش می کرد دست خود را به عیسی بزند چون قدرتی که از او صادر می شد، همه را شفا می داد.

²⁰He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.

²⁰بعد به شاگردان خود چشم دوخت و گفت: «خوشا بحال شما که فقیر هستید، پادشاهی خدا از آن شماست.

²¹ Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.

²¹خوشا بحال شما که اکنون گرسنه اید، شما سیر خواهید شد. خوشا بحال شما که اکنون اشک می ریزید، شما خندان خواهید شد.

²² Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.

²²خوشا بحال شما هرگاه بخاطر پسر انسان مردم از شما روی گردانند و شما را از بین خود بیرون کنند و شما را خوار سازند و یا به شما بد گویند.

²³ Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.

²³در آن روز شاد باشید و از خوشی پایکوبی کنید چون بدون شک اجر بزرگ در عالم بالا خواهید داشت، زیرا پدران ایشان نیز درست به همینطور با پیامبران رفتار می کردند.

²⁴ “But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.

²⁴اما وای بحال شما ای ثروتمندان، شما ایام کامرانی خود را پشت سر گذاشته اید.

²⁵ Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

²⁵وای بحال شما که اکنون سیر هستید، گرسنگی خواهید کشید. وای بحال شما که اکنون می خندید، شما ماتم خواهید گرفت و اشک خواهید ریخت.

²⁶ Woe, TR adds “to you” when TR adds “all” men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.

²⁶وای بحال شما وقتی همه از شما تعریف می کنند. پدران ایشان درست همین کار را با پیامبران دروغین کردند.

²⁷ “But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

²⁷اما به شما که سخن مرا می شنوید می گویم: به دشمنان خود محبت نمایید، به آنانی که از شما نفرت دارند نیکی کنید.

²⁸ bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.

²⁸برای آنانی که به شما دشنام می دهند دعای خیر کنید. برای آنانی که با شما بدرفتاری می کنند دعا کنید.

²⁹ To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.

²⁹وقتی کسی به صورت تو می زند طرف دیگر صورت خود را هم پیش او ببر. وقتی کسی چپن تو را می برد، بگذار پیراهنت را هم ببرد.

³⁰ Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.

³⁰به هر که چیزی از تو بخواهد ببخش و وقتی کسی آنچه را که مال توست می برد، آن را باز مخواه.

³¹ “As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.

³¹با دیگران آنچنان رفتار کنید که می خواهید آن ها با شما رفتار کنند.

³² If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

³²اگر فقط کسانی را دوست بدارید که شما را دوست دارند برای شما چه افتخاری دارد؟ حتی خطاکاران هم دوستان خود را دوست دارند.

³³ If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

³³و اگر فقط به کسانی که به شما نیکی می کنند نیکی کنید برای شما چه افتخاری دارد؟ چون خطاکاران هم چنین می کنند.

³⁴ If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.

³⁴و اگر فقط به کسی قرض بدهید که توقع پس گرفتن دارید دیگر چه افتخاری برای شما دارد؟ حتی خطاکاران هم، اگر بدانند تمام آن را پس خواهند گرفت، به یکدیگر قرض خواهند داد.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

³⁵اما شما به دشمنان خود محبت نمایید و نیکی کنید و بدون توقع عوض، قرض بدهید که اجر بزرگ خواهید داشت و فرزندان خدای متعال خواهید بود، زیرا او نسبت به ناسپاسان و خطاکاران مهربان است.

³⁶ Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.

³⁶پس همانطور که پدر شما رحیم است، رحیم باشید.

³⁷ Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.

³⁷دیگران را بد نگویید تا شما را بد نگویند. ملامت نکنید تا ملامت نشوید. دیگران را ببخشید تا بخشیده شوید.

³⁸ “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. literally, into your bosom. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.”

³⁸بدهید که به شما داده خواهد شد، پیمانۀ درست و فشرده و تکان داده شده و لبریز در دامن شما ریخته خواهد شد، زیرا با هر پیمانه ای که به دیگران بدهید با همان پیمانه، عوض خواهید گرفت.»

³⁹He spoke a parable to them. “Can the blind guide the blind? Won’t they both fall into a pit?

³⁹همچنین مَثَلی برای ایشان آورد: «آیا یک کور می تواند عصا کش کور دیگری باشد؟ مگر هر دو در چاه نخواهند افتاد؟

⁴⁰ A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.

⁴⁰شاگرد، بالا تر از استاد خود نیست اما وقتی تحصیلات خود را به پایان برساند به پایۀ استاد خود خواهد رسید.

⁴¹ Why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?

⁴¹چرا به پَرِ کاهی که در چشم برادرت هست نگاه می کنی و هیچ در فکر چوبی که در چشم خود داری نیستی؟

⁴² Or how can you tell your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye.

⁴²چطور می توانی به برادرت بگویی: «ای برادر، اجازه بده آن پَرِ کاه را از چشمت بیرون بیاورم»، در صورتی که چوب داخل چشم خود را نمی بینی؟ ای ریاکار، اول چوب را از چشم خود بیرون بیاور، آن وقت درست خواهی دید که پَرِ کاه را از چشم برادرت بیرون بیاوری.

⁴³ For there is no good tree that brings forth rotten fruit; nor again a rotten tree that brings forth good fruit.

⁴³هرگز درخت خوب میوه بد و یا درخت بد میوه خوب ببار نیاورده است،

⁴⁴ For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don’t gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.

⁴⁴هر درختی از میوه اش شناخته می شود. از بوته های خار، انجیر جمع نمی کنند و از خاربن انگور نمی چینند.

⁴⁵ The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.

⁴⁵مرد نیکو از خزانۀ نیک درون خود نیکی ببار می آورد و مرد بد از خزانۀ بد درون خود بدی ببار می آورد، چون زبان از آنچه دل را پُر ساخته است سخن می گوید.

⁴⁶ “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?

⁴⁶چرا پیوسته به من خداوندا خداوندا می گوئید ولی آنچه را که به شما می گویم انجام نمی دهید؟

⁴⁷ Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like.

⁴⁷هرکه پیش من بیاید و آنچه را که می گویم بشنود و به آن ها عمل کند به شما نشان می دهم مانند چه کسی است.

⁴⁸ He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.

⁴⁸او مانند آن مردی است که برای ساختن خانۀ خود زمین را عمیق کند و تهداب آن را روی سنگ قرار داد. وقتی سیل آمد، دریا طغیان کرد و به آن خانه زد اما نتوانست آن را از جا بکند چون محکم ساخته شده بود.اما هرکه سخنان مرا بشنود و به آن عمل نکند مانند مردی است که خانۀ خود را روی خاک بدون تهداب ساخت. وقتی که سیل به آن خانه زد، خانه غلتید و به کلی ویران شد!»

⁴⁹ But he who hears, and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”

⁴⁹اما هرکه سخنان مرا بشنود و به آن عمل نکند مانند مردی است که خانۀ خود را روی خاک بدون تهداب ساخت. وقتی که سیل به آن خانه زد، خانه غلتید و به کلی ویران شد!»
