¹It happened soon afterwards, that he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the Kingdom of God. With him were the twelve,

¹بعد از آن عیسی شهر به شهر و ده به ده می گشت و مژدۀ پادشاهی خدا را اعلام می کرد.

²and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out;

²دوازده حواری و عده ای از زنانی که از ارواح پلید و ناخوشیها رهائی یافته بودند با او همراه بودند. مریمِ معروف به مریم مجدلیه که از او هفت روح ناپاک بیرون آمده بود،

³and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others; who served them TR reads “him” instead of “them” from their possessions.

³یونا همسر خوزا ـ ناظر هیرودیس ـ و سوسن و بسیاری کسان دیگر. این زنان از اموال خود به عیسی و شاگردانش کمک می کردند.

⁴When a great multitude came together, and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable.

⁴وقتی مردم از شهرهای اطراف به دیدن عیسی آمدند و جمعیت زیادی در اطراف او جمع شد، مَثَلی آورده گفت:

⁵ “The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.

⁵«دهقانی برای پاشیدن تخم بیرون رفت. وقتی تخم پاشید، مقداری از آن در راه افتاد و پایمال شد و پرندگان آن ها را خوردند.

⁶ Other seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

⁶مقداری هم در زمین سنگلاخ افتاد و پس از آنکه رشد کرد به سبب کمبود رطوبت و آب خشک شد.

⁷ Other fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it, and choked it.

⁷بعضی از دانه ها داخل خارها افتاد و خارها با آن ها رشد کرده آن ها را خفه نمود.

⁸ Other fell into the good ground, and grew, and brought forth fruit one hundred times.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

⁸بعضی از دانه ها در خاک خوب افتادند و رشد کردند و صد برابر ثمر آوردند.» این را فرمود و با صدای بلند گفت: «اگر گوش شنوا دارید، بشنوید.»

⁹Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”

⁹شاگردان عیسی معنی این مَثَل را از او پرسیدند.

¹⁰He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables; that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ Isaiah 6:9

¹⁰فرمود: «درک اسرار پادشاهی خدا به شما عطا شده است، اما این مطالب برای دیگران در قالب مَثَل بیان می شود: «تا نگاه کنند اما چیزی نبینند، بشنوند اما چیزی نفهمند.»

¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

¹¹معنی و مفهوم این مَثَل از این قرار است: دانه، کلام خدا است.

¹² Those along the road are those who hear, then the devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.

¹²دانه هائی که در راه افتادند کسانی هستند که آن را می شنوند و سپس شیطان می آید و کلام را از دلهای شان می رباید مبادا ایمان بیاورند و نجات یابند.

¹³ Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, who believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.

¹³دانه های کاشته شده در سنگلاخ به کسانی می ماند که وقتی کلام را می شنوند با خوشی می پذیرند اما کلام در آنها ریشه نمی دواند. مدتی ایمان دارند اما در وقت آزمایش های سخت از میدان بدر می روند.

¹⁴ That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

¹⁴دانه هائی که در میان خارها افتادند بر کسانی دلالت می کند که کلام خدا را می شنوند اما با گذشت زمان، تشویش دنیا و مال و ثروت و خوشیهای زندگی، کلام را در آن ها خفه می کند و هیچگونه ثمری نمی آورند.

¹⁵ That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience.

¹⁵اما دانه هائی که در خاک خوب افتادند بر کسانی دلالت دارد که کلام خدا را با قلبی صاف و پاک می شوند و آن را نگه می دارند و با زحمتکشی، ثمرات فراوان ببار می آورند.

¹⁶ “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.

¹⁶هیچ کس چراغ را روشن نمی کند تا آن را با تشت بپوشاند یا زیر تخت بگذارد. برعکس، آن را روی چراغ دان می گذارد تا هرکه وارد شود نور آن را ببیند،

¹⁷ For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be known and come to light.

¹⁷زیرا هر چه پنهان باشد آشکار می شود و هرچه زیر سرپوش باشد نمایان می گردد و پرده از رویش برداشته می شود.

¹⁸ Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”

¹⁸پس متوجه باشید که چطور می شنوید زیرا به کسی که دارد بیشتر داده خواهد شد، اما آن کس که ندارد حتی آنچه را که به گمان خود دارد از دست خواهد داد.»

¹⁹His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.

¹⁹مادر و برادران عیسی برای دیدن او آمدند، اما به سبب زیادی جمعیت نتوانستند به او برسند.

²⁰It was told him by some saying, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”

²⁰به او گفتند: «مادر و برادرانت بیرون ایستاده اند و می خواهند تو را ببینند.»

²¹But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it.”

²¹عیسی جواب داد: «مادر من و برادران من آنانی هستند که کلام خدا را می شنوند و آن را بجا می آورند.»

²²Now it happened on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.

²²در یکی از آن روزها عیسی با شاگردان خود سوار کشتی شد و به آنها فرمود: «به طرف دیگر بحیره برویم.» آن ها به راه افتادند

²³But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.

²³و وقتی کشتی در حرکت بود عیسی به خواب رفت. در این وقت طوفان سختی در بحیره پدید آمد. آب، کشتی را پُر می ساخت و آنها در خطر بزرگی افتاده بودند.

²⁴They came to him, and awoke him, saying, “Master, master, we are dying!” He awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm. See Psalm 107:29

²⁴پیش او رفتند و بیدارش کرده گفتند: «ای استاد، ای استاد، چیزی نمانده که ما از بین برویم.» او از خواب برخاست و با تندی به باد و آب های طوفانی فرمان سکوت داد. طوفان فرو نشست و همه جا آرام شد.

²⁵He said to them, “Where is your faith?” Being afraid they marveled, saying one to another, “Who is this, then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”

²⁵از آنها پرسید: «ایمان تان کجاست؟» آنها با حالت ترس و تعجب به یکدیگر می گفتند: «این مرد کیست که به باد و آب فرمان می دهد و آن ها از او اطاعت می کنند؟»

²⁶They arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.

²⁶به این ترتیب در سرزمین جَدَریان که مقابل ولایت جلیل است به خشکی رسیدند.

²⁷When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and didn’t live in a house, but in the tombs.

²⁷همینکه عیسی قدم به ساحل گذاشت با مردی از اهالی آن شهر روبرو شد که گرفتار ارواح ناپاک بود. مدتی زیاد نه لباسی پوشیده بود و نه در خانه زندگی کرده بود بلکه در میان مقبره ها بسر می برد.

²⁸When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”

²⁸به محض این که عیسی را دید فریاد کرد و به پاهای او افتاد و با صدای بلند گفت: «ای عیسی، پسر خدای متعال، از من چه می خواهی؟ پیش تو زاری می کنم، مرا عذاب نده.»

²⁹For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.

²⁹زیرا عیسی به روح ناپاک فرمان داده بود که از آن مرد بیرون بیاید. آن روح ناپاک بارها بر او حمله ور شده بود و مردم او را گرفته با زنجیرها و کنده ها محکم نگاه می داشتند، اما هر بار زنجیرها را پاره می کرد و آن روح ناپاک او را به بیابانها می کشانید.

³⁰Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.

³⁰عیسی از او پرسید: «اسم تو چیست؟» جواب داد: «لِژیون (لشکر).» و این به آن سبب بود که ارواح ناپاک بسیاری او را گرفته بودند.

³¹They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.

³¹ارواح ناپاک از عیسی تقاضا کردند که آن ها را به دوزخ نفرستد.

³²Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them.

³²تصادفاً در آن نزدیکی، گلۀ بزرگ خوکی بود که در بالای تپه می چریدند و ارواح ناپاک از او در خواست کردند که اجازه دهد به داخل خوکها بروند. عیسی به آن ها اجازه داد.

³³The demons came out from the man, and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned.

³³ارواح ناپاک از آن مرد بیرون آمدند و به داخل خوکها رفتند و آن گله از سراشیبی تپه به بحیره جست و غرق شد.

³⁴When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country.

³⁴خوک بانان آنچه را که واقع شد دیدند و پا به فرار گذاشتند و این خبر را به شهر و اطراف آن رسانیدند.

³⁵People went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

³⁵مردم برای تماشا از شهر بیرون آمدند. وقتی پیش عیسی رسیدند مردی را که ارواح ناپاک از او بیرون رفته بودند، لباس پوشیده و سر عقل آمده پیش پای عیسی نشسته دیدند و ترسیدند.

³⁶Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.

³⁶شاهدان واقعه برای آنها شرح دادند که آن مرد چگونه شفا یافت.

³⁷All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. He entered into the boat, and returned.

³⁷بعد تمام مردم ناحیۀ جَدَریان از عیسی خواهش کردند که از آنجا برود زیرا بسیار ترسیدند. بنابراین عیسی سوار کشتی شد و به طرف دیگر بحیره بازگشت.

³⁸But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

³⁸مردی که ارواح ناپاک از او بیرون آمده بودند اجازه خواست که با او برود اما عیسی به او اجازه نداد و گفت:

³⁹ “Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you.” He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

³⁹«به خانه ات برگرد و آنچه را که خدا برای تو انجام داده است بیان کن.» آن مرد به شهر رفت و آنچه را که عیسی برای او انجام داده بود همه جا پخش کرد.

⁴⁰It happened, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.

⁴⁰هنگامی که عیسی به طرف دیگر بحیره بازگشت مردم با گرمی از او استقبال کردند زیرا همه در انتظار او بودند.

⁴¹Behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet, and begged him to come into his house,

⁴¹در این وقت مردی که اسمش یایروس بود و سرپرستی کنیسه را به عهده داشت نزد عیسی آمد. خود را پیش پاهای عیسی انداخت و از او تقاضا کرد که به خانه اش برود،

⁴²for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.

⁴²زیرا دختر یگانه اش که تقریباً دوازده ساله بود در آستانۀ مرگ قرار داشت. وقتی عیسی در راه بود مردم از هر طرف به او فشار می آوردند.

⁴³A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians, and could not be healed by any,

⁴³در میان مردم زنی دیده می شد که مدت دوازده سال مبتلا به خونریزی بود و با اینکه تمام دارائی خود را به طبیبان داده بود هیچکس نتوانسته بود او را درمان نماید.

⁴⁴came behind him, and touched the fringe or, tassel of his cloak, and immediately the flow of her blood stopped.

⁴⁴این زن از پشت سر آمد و لباس عیسی را لمس کرد و فوراً خونریزی او بند آمد.

⁴⁵Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

⁴⁵عیسی پرسید: «کی به من دست زد؟» همگی انکار کردند و پِترُس گفت: «ای استاد، مردم دور تو را گرفته اند و به تو فشار می آورند.»

⁴⁶But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”

⁴⁶اما عیسی فرمود: «کسی به من دست زد، چون احساس کردم نیرویی از من صادر شد.»

⁴⁷When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

⁴⁷آن زن که فهمید شناخته شده است با ترس و لرز آمد و پیش پاهای او افتاد و در برابر همۀ مردم شرح داد که چرا او را لمس کرده و چگونه فوراً شفا یافته است.

⁴⁸He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

⁴⁸عیسی به او فرمود: «دخترم، ایمانت تو را شفا داده است، بسلامت برو»

⁴⁹While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.”

⁴⁹هنوز گرم صحبت بودند که مردی با این پیغام از خانۀ سرپرست کنیسه آمد: «دخترت مُرد. بیش از این استاد را زحمت نده.»

⁵⁰But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”

⁵⁰وقتی عیسی این را شنید، به یایروس فرمود: «نترس، فقط ایمان داشته باش، او خوب خواهد شد.»

⁵¹When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.

⁵¹هنگام ورود به خانه اجازه نداد کسی جز پِترُس و یوحنا و یعقوب و پدر و مادر آن دختر با او وارد شود.

⁵²All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”

⁵²همه برای آن دختر گریه و ماتم می کردند. عیسی فرمود: «دیگر گریه نکنید، او نمرده، خواب است.»

⁵³They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.

⁵³آنها فقط به او ریشخند می کردند، چون خوب می دانستند که او مُرده است.

⁵⁴But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!”

⁵⁴اما عیسی دست دختر را گرفت و او را صدا زد و گفت: «ای دخترک، برخیز.»

⁵⁵Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.

⁵⁵روح او بازگشت و فوراً برخاست. عیسی به ایشان فرمود که به او خوراک بدهند.والدین او بسیار تعجب کردند، اما عیسی با تأکید از آنها خواست که ماجرا را به کسی نگویند.

⁵⁶Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.

⁵⁶والدین او بسیار تعجب کردند، اما عیسی با تأکید از آنها خواست که ماجرا را به کسی نگویند.
