¹He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.

¹عیسی از آنجا براه افتاد و به سرزمین یهودیه و به جانب شرقی دریای اُردن رفت. باز هم جمعیتی به دور او جمع شد و او به عادت همیشگی خود به تعلیم آنها شروع کرد.

²Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

²عده ای از پیروان فرقۀ فریسی پیش او آمدند و برای امتحان از او پرسیدند: «آیا مرد اجازه دارد که زن خود را طلاق بدهد؟»

³He answered, “What did Moses command you?”

³عیسی در جواب آن ها پرسید: «موسی در این باره چه امر کرده است؟»

⁴They said, “Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”

⁴آن ها جواب دادند: «موسی اجازه داده است که مرد با دادن طلاق نامه به زن خود از او جدا شود.»

⁵But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.

⁵عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «بخاطر سنگدلی شما بود که موسی این اجازه را به شما داد.

⁶ But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. Genesis 1:27

⁶وگرنه خدا از اول خلقت، انسان را به صورت مرد و زن آفرید.

⁷ For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,

⁷به این دلیل مرد، پدر و مادر خود را ترک می کند و به زن خود می پیوندد

⁸ and the two will become one flesh, Genesis 2:24 so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.

⁸و این دو یک تن واحد می شوند. یعنی دیگر آن ها دو نفر نیستند، بلکه یک تن می باشند.

⁹ What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

⁹آنچه را خدا به هم پیوسته است، انسان نباید جدا سازد.»

¹⁰In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.

¹⁰در منزل، شاگردان بازهم دربارۀ این موضوع از عیسی سؤال کردند.

¹¹He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.

¹¹او به ایشان فرمود: «هر که زن خود را طلاق دهد و با زنی دیگر ازدواج کند، نسبت به زن خود مرتکب زنا شده است.

¹² If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery.”

¹²همینطور اگر زنی از شوهر خود جدا شود و با مرد دیگری ازدواج کند مرتکب زنا شده است.»

¹³They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.

¹³کودکان را پیش عیسی می آوردند تا بر آن ها دست بگذارد ولی شاگردان، آن ها را سرزنش می کردند

¹⁴But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

¹⁴وقتی عیسی این را دید ناراحت شده به ایشان فرمود: «بگذارید کودکان پیش من بیایند، مانع آن ها نشوید چون پادشاهی خدا به چنین کسانی تعلق دارد.

¹⁵ Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”

¹⁵بیقین بدانید که اگر کسی پادشاهی خدا را مانند کودک نپذیرد، هیچ وقت وارد آن نخواهد شد.»

¹⁶He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

¹⁶سپس عیسی کودکان را در آغوش گرفت و دست بر آنها گذاشته برای شان دعای خیر کرد.

¹⁷As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

¹⁷وقتی عیسی عازم سفر شد، شخصی دوان دوان آمده در برابر او زانو زد و عرض کرد: «ای استاد نیکو، من برای به دست آوردن زندگی ابدی چه باید بکنم؟»

¹⁸Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.

¹⁸عیسی به او فرمود: «چرا مرا نیکو می گویی؟ هیچ کس جز خدا نیکو نیست.

¹⁹ You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’” Exodus 20:12-16; Deuteronomy 5:16-20

¹⁹احکام را می دانی ـ قتل نکن، زنا نکن، دزدی نکن، شهادت نادرست نده، تقلب نکن، پدر و مادر خود را احترام کن.»

²⁰He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”

²⁰آن شخص در جواب گفت: «ای استاد، من از جوانی همۀ اینها را رعایت کرده ام.»

²¹Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”

²¹عیسی با محبت به او نگاه کرده فرمود: «یک چیز کم داری، برو آنچه داری بفروش و به فقرا بده که در عالم بالا گنجی خواهی داشت و بعد بیا و از من پیروی کن.»

²²But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.

²²آن شخص چون صاحب ثروت فراوان بود، با چهره ای محزون و با ناراحتی از آنجا رفت.

²³Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!”

²³عیسی به چهار طرف دید و به شاگردان فرمود: «چه مشکل است ورود توانگران به پادشاهی خدا!»

²⁴The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, “Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!

²⁴شاگردان از سخنان او تعجب کردند، اما عیسی باز هم به آنها فرمود: «ای فرزندان، داخل شدن به پادشاهی خدا چقدر مشکل است!

²⁵ It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

²⁵گذشتن شتر از سوراخ سوزن آسانتر است از داخل شدن شخص توانگر به پادشاهی خدا.»

²⁶They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”

²⁶آنها بی اندازه تعجب کرده و به یکدیگر می گفتند: «پس چه کسی می تواند نجات یابد؟»

²⁷Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”

²⁷عیسی به آنها دید و فرمود: «برای انسان غیرممکن است، اما نه برای خدا، زیرا برای خدا همه چیز امکان دارد.»

²⁸Peter began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all, and have followed you.”

²⁸پِترُس در جواب عیسی شروع به صحبت کرده گفت: «ببین، ما از همه چیز خود دست کشیده و پیرو تو شده ایم.»

²⁹Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,

²⁹عیسی فرمود: «بیقین بدانید که هرکس بخاطر من و انجیل، خانه و یا برادران یا خواهران یا مادر یا پدر یا فرزندان و املاک خود را ترک نماید،

³⁰ but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life.

³⁰در این دنیا صد برابر خانه و برادر و خواهر، مادر و فرزندان و املاک ـ و همچنین رنج ها ـ و در آخرت زندگی ابدی نصیب او خواهد شد.

³¹ But many who are first will be last; and the last first.”

³¹اما بسیاری از آنها که اکنون اولین هستند آخرین خواهند شد و بسیاری هم که آخرین هستند اولین خواهند شد.»

³²They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.

³²عیسی و شاگردان در راه اورشلیم بودند و عیسی پیشاپیش شاگردان حرکت می کرد. شاگردان حیران بودند و کسانی که از عقب آن ها می آمدند بسیار می ترسیدند. عیسی دوازده شاگرد خود را به کناری برد و دربارۀ آنچه که می باید برایش واقع شود با آن ها شروع به صحبت کرد

³³ “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.

³³و به آن ها فرمود: «ما اکنون به اورشلیم می رویم و پسر انسان به دست سران کاهنان و علمای دین سپرده خواهد شد. آن ها او را محکوم به مرگ خواهند کرد و به دست بیگانگان خواهند سپرد.

³⁴ They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”

³⁴آن ها او را مسخره خواهند نمود و به رویش آب دهان خواهند انداخت، او را تازیانه خواهند زد و خواهند کشت، اما پس از سه روز دوباره زنده خواهد شد.»

³⁵James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”

³⁵یعقوب و یوحنا ـ پسران زَبدی ـ پیش عیسی آمده گفتند: «ای استاد، ما می خواهیم که آنچه که از تو درخواست می کنیم برای ما انجام دهی.»

³⁶He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

³⁶به ایشان گفت: «چه می خواهید برای تان بکنم؟»

³⁷They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory.”

³⁷آن ها جواب دادند: «به ما اجازه بده تا در جلال تو یکی در دست راست و دیگری در دست چپ تو بنشینیم.»

³⁸But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

³⁸عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «شما نمی فهمید چه می خواهید. آیا می توانید از پیاله ای که من می نوشم، بنوشید و یا تعمیدی را که من می گیرم، بگیرید؟»

³⁹They said to him, “We are able.” Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;

³⁹آن ها جواب دادند: «می توانیم.» عیسی فرمود: «از پیاله ای که من می نوشم، خواهید نوشید و تعمیدی را که من می گیرم، خواهید گرفت،

⁴⁰ but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”

⁴⁰اما نشستن در دست راست و یا چپ من با من نیست. این به کسانی تعلق دارد که از پیش برای شان تعیین شده است.»

⁴¹When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John.

⁴¹وقتی ده شاگرد دیگر این را شنیدند از یعقوب و یوحنا دلگیر شدند.

⁴²Jesus summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

⁴²عیسی ایشان را پیش خود خواست و فرمود: «می دانید که در بین مردم کسانی که فرمانروا محسوب می شوند، بر زیر دستان خود فرمانروایی می کنند و بزرگان شان نیز بر آن ها ریاست می نمایند.

⁴³ But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.

⁴³ولی در بین شما نباید چنین باشد؛ بلکه هرکه می خواهد در میان شما بزرگ شود، باید خادم شما باشد

⁴⁴ Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all.

⁴⁴و هرکه می خواهد اول شود، باید غلام همه باشد.

⁴⁵ For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

⁴⁵چون پسر انسان نیامده است تا خدمت شود، بلکه تا به دیگران خدمت کند و جان خود را در راه بسیاری فدا سازد.»

⁴⁶They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

⁴⁶آن ها به شهر اریحا رسیدند و وقتی عیسی همرای شاگردان خود و جمعیت بزرگی از شهر بیرون می رفت، یک گدای نابینا به نام بارتیماؤس ـ پسر تیماؤس ـ در کنار راه نشسته بود.

⁴⁷When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”

⁴⁷وقتی شنید که عیسی ناصری است، شروع به فریاد کرد و گفت: «ای عیسی، پسر داود، بر من رحم کن.»

⁴⁸Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”

⁴⁸عدۀ زیادی او را سرزنش کردند و از او خواستند تا خاموش شود. ولی او هرچه بلندتر فریاد می کرد: «ای پسر داود، بر من رحم کن.»

⁴⁹Jesus stood still, and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”

⁴⁹عیسی ایستاد و فرمود: «به او بگویید اینجا بیاید.» آن ها آن کور را صدا کردند و به او گفتند: «خوشحال باش، برخیز، تو را می خواهد.»

⁵⁰He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.

⁵⁰بارتیماؤس فوراً ردای خود را به کناری انداخت و از جای خود بلند شد و پیش عیسی آمد.

⁵¹Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for “great teacher.” that I may see again.”

⁵¹عیسی به او فرمود: «چه می خواهی برایت بکنم؟» آن کور عرض کرد: «ای استاد، می خواهم بار دیگر بینا شوم.»عیسی به او فرمود: «برو، ایمانت تو را شفا داده است.» او فوراً بینایی خود را بازیافت و به دنبال عیسی براه افتاد.

⁵²Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

⁵²عیسی به او فرمود: «برو، ایمانت تو را شفا داده است.» او فوراً بینایی خود را بازیافت و به دنبال عیسی براه افتاد.
