¹When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage TR & NU read “Bethphage” instead of “Bethsphage” and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

¹وقتی به بیت فاجی و بیت عنیا در کوه زیتون که نزدیک اورشلیم است رسیدند، عیسی دو نفر از شاگردان خود را فرستاد

²and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him, and bring him.

²و به آن ها چنین امر کرد: «به دهکدۀ روبرو بروید. همین که وارد آن شدید کره الاغی را در آنجا بسته خواهید دید، که هنوز کسی بر آن سوار نشده است. آن را باز کنید و به اینجا بیاورید.

³ If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”

³اگر کسی پرسید: چرا آن را باز می کنید؟ بگویید: خداوند آن را به کار دارد و او بدون تأخیر آن را به اینجا خواهد فرستاد.»

⁴They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

⁴آن دو نفر رفتند و در کوچه ای کره الاغی را دیدند که پیش دری بسته شده بود، آن را باز کردند.

⁵Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”

⁵بعضی از کسانی که در آنجا ایستاده بودند، به آن ها گفتند: «چرا این کره الاغ را باز می کنید؟»

⁶They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.

⁶آن ها همانطور که عیسی به ایشان فرموده بود، جواب دادند و کسی مانع ایشان نشد.

⁷They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.

⁷کره الاغ را پیش عیسی آوردند و لباس های خود را روی آن انداختند و او سوار شد.

⁸Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road.

⁸عدۀ زیادی از مردم لباس های خود را دم راه عیسی انداختند و عده ای هم از مزارع اطراف شاخ و برگ درختان را بریده دَم راه او می گسترانیدند.

⁹Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out, “Hosanna “Hosanna” means “save us” or “help us, we pray.” ! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Psalm 118:25-26

⁹کسانی که از پیشا پیش او می رفتند و هم آنانی که از دنبال آن ها می آمدند با فریاد می گفتند: «مبارک باد آن کسی که به نام خداوند می آید.

¹⁰Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

¹⁰فرخنده باد پادشاهی پدر ما داود که در حال آمدن است، هوشیعانا از عرش برین.»

¹¹Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

¹¹عیسی وارد اورشلیم شد و به عبادتگاه رفت. در آنجا همه چیز را از نظر گذرانید. اما چون ناوقت بود با آن دوازده حواری به بیت عنیا رفت.

¹²The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry.

¹²روز بعد وقتی آن ها از بیت عنیا بیرون آمدند در بین راه عیسی گرسنه شد.

¹³Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

¹³از دور درخت انجیر پُر برگی دید و رفت تا ببیند آیا می تواند چیزی در آن پیدا کند. وقتی به آن رسید جز برگ چیزی ندید، چون هنوز فصل انجیر نبود.

¹⁴Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.

¹⁴پس به درخت فرمود: «دیگر کسی از میوۀ تو نخواهد خورد.» و شاگردانش این را شنیدند.

¹⁵They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves.

¹⁵آن ها به اورشلیم آمدند و عیسی داخل عبادتگاه شد و به بیرون راندن فروشندگان و خریداران از عبادتگاه پرداخت. میزهای صرافان و چوکی های کبوتر فروشان را بهم ریخت

¹⁶He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.

¹⁶و به کسی اجازه نمی داد که برای بردن اموال از صحن عبادتگاه عبور کند.

¹⁷He taught, saying to them, “Isn’t it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?’ Isaiah 56:7 But you have made it a den of robbers!” Jeremiah 7:11

¹⁷او به مردم تعلیم می داد و می گفت: «آیا نوشته نشده است: خانۀ من جای عبادت برای جمیع ملتها خواهد بود؟ اما شما آن را کمینگاه دزدان ساخته اید.»

¹⁸The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

¹⁸سران کاهنان و علمای دین که این را شنیدند، خواستند راهی برای از بین بردن او پیدا کنند. آن ها از او می ترسیدند، چون همۀ مردم از تعالیم او حیران بودند.

¹⁹When evening came, he went out of the city.

¹⁹در غروب آن روز عیسی و شاگردان از شهر بیرون رفتند.

²⁰As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.

²⁰صبح روز بعد در بین راه آن ها دیدند که آن درخت انجیر از ریشه خشک شده است.

²¹Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”

²¹پِترُس موضوع را بیاد آورد و گفت: «ای استاد، ببین، درخت انجیری را که نفرین کردی خشک شده است.»

²²Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.

²²عیسی در جواب آن ها گفت: «به خدا ایمان داشته باشید

²³ For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says.

²³و بیقین بدانید اگر کسی به این کوه بگوید: حرکت کن و به بحر پرتاب شو و شک و شبهه ای به دل راه ندهد، بلکه ایمان داشته باشد که هر چه بگوید می شود، برای او چنان خواهد شد.

²⁴ Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.

²⁴بنابراین به شما می گویم: بیقین بدانید که آنچه را که در دعا طلب می کنید خواهید یافت و به شما داده خواهد شد.

²⁵ Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.

²⁵وقتی برای دعا می ایستید اگر از کسی شکایتی دارید، او را ببخشید تا پدر آسمانی شما هم خطایای شما را ببخشد. [

²⁶ But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions.”

²⁶اما اگر شما دیگران را نبخشید، پدر آسمانی شما هم خطایای شما را نخواهد بخشید.]»

²⁷They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him,

²⁷آن ها بار دیگر به اورشلیم آمدند. وقتی عیسی در عبادتگاه قدم می زد، سران کاهنان و علمای دین و بزرگان قوم پیش او آمدند

²⁸and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

²⁸و از او پرسیدند: «به چه اختیاری این کارها را می کنی؟ چه کسی به تو اختیار انجام چنین کارهایی را داده است؟»

²⁹Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁹عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «من هم از شما سؤالی دارم اگر جواب دادید، به شما خواهم گفت که به چه اختیاری این کارها را می کنم.

³⁰ The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”

³⁰آیا تعمید یحیی از جانب خدا بود، یا از جانب بشر؟ به من جواب بدهید.»

³¹They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

³¹آن ها بین خود بحث کرده گفتند، اگر بگوییم از جانب خدا بود، او خواهد گفت، پس چرا به او ایمان نیاوردید؟

³²If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.

³²اما اگر بگوییم از جانب بشر بود ... (آن ها از مردم می ترسیدند، چون همه یحیی را پیغمبر می دانستند.)از این رو در جواب عیسی گفتند: «ما نمی دانیم.» عیسی به ایشان گفت: «پس من هم نمی گویم به چه اختیاری این کارها را می کنم.»

³³They answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

³³از این رو در جواب عیسی گفتند: «ما نمی دانیم.» عیسی به ایشان گفت: «پس من هم نمی گویم به چه اختیاری این کارها را می کنم.»
