¹Then the Pharisees, and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.

¹پیروان فرقۀ فریسی و بعضی از علمای دین که از اورشلیم آمده بودند، دور عیسی جمع شدند.

²Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, they found fault.

²آن ها دیدند که بعضی از شاگردان او با دست های نا شسته و به اصطلاح «ناپاک» غذا می خورند.

³(For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.

³یهودیان و مخصوصاً فریسی ها تا مطابق سنت های گذشته، دست های خود را بطرز مخصوصی نمی شستند، غذا نمی خوردند.

⁴They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace, unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)

⁴و وقتی از بازار می آمدند تا خود را نمی شستند، چیزی نمی خوردند و بسیاری از رسوم دیگر مانند شستن پیاله ها و دیگ ها و کاسه های مسی را رعایت می کردند.

⁵The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”

⁵پس فریسی ها و علمای دین از او پرسیدند: «چرا شاگردان تو سنت های گذشته را رعایت نمی کنند، بلکه با دست های ناپاک غذا می خورند؟»

⁶He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

⁶عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «اشعیا دربارۀ شما منافقان چقدر درست پیشگویی نمود وقتی گفت: «این مردم مرا با زبان عبادت می کنند، اما دل های شان از من دور است.

⁷ But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ Isaiah 29:13

⁷عبادت آن ها بی، فایده است، چون راه و رسوم انسانی را بجای فرایض خدا تعلیم می دهند.»

⁸ “For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”

⁸شما احکام خدا را گذاشته و به سنت های بشری چسپیده اید.»

⁹He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

⁹عیسی همچنین به ایشان فرمود: «شما احکام خدا را با چالاکی یکطرف می گذارید تا رسوم خود را بجا آورید.

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9

¹⁰مثلاً موسی فرمود: پدر و مادر خود را احترام کن و هر که به پدر و یا مادر خود نا سزا بگوید سزاوار مرگ است.

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban Corban is a Hebrew word for an offering devoted to God. , that is to say, given to God”;’

¹¹اما شما می گویید: اگر کسی به پدر و یا مادر خود بگوید، که هرچه باید برای کمک به شما بدهم وقف کار خدا کرده ام،

¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

¹²دیگر اجازه نمی دهید که برای پدر و یا مادر خود کاری کند.

¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

¹³به این ترتیب با انجام رسوم و سنت هایی که به شما رسیده است، کلام خدا را بی اثر می نمایید. شما از این قبیل کارها زیاد می کنید.»

¹⁴He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.

¹⁴عیسی بار دیگر مردم را پیش خود خواست و به آن ها فرمود: «همه به من گوش بدهید و این را بفهمید:

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

¹⁵چیزی نیست که از خارج داخل وجود انسان شود و او را نجس سازد. آنچه آدمی را نجس می سازد چیزهایی است که از وجود او صادر می شود. [

¹⁶ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”

¹⁶هرکس گوش شنوا دارد بشنود.]»

¹⁷When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.

¹⁷وقتی عیسی از پیش مردم به خانه رفت شاگردان دربارۀ این مَثَل از او سؤال کردند.

¹⁸He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,

¹⁸به ایشان فرمود: «آیا شما هم مثل دیگران نادان هستید؟ آیا نمی دانید هر چیزی که از خارج داخل وجود انسان شود نمی تواند او را نجس سازد؟

¹⁹ because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, thus purifying all foods or, making all foods clean ?”

¹⁹چون به قلب او داخل نمی شود، بلکه داخل معده اش می شود و از آنجا به مبرز می ریزد.» به این ترتیب عیسی تمام غذا ها را پاک اعلام کرد.

²⁰He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.

²⁰عیسی به سخن خود ادامه داده گفت: «آنچه که آدمی را نجس می سازد چیزی است که از وجود او صادر می شود.

²¹ For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,

²¹زیرا اینهاست آنچه از درون و دل انسان بیرون می آید: افکار پلید، فساد جنسی، دزدی، آدمکشی،

²² covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.

²²زنا، طمع، خباثت، فریب، هرزگی، حسادت، تهمت، تکبر و حماقت.

²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

²³این بدی ها همه از درون سرچشمه می گیرد و انسان را نجس می سازد.»

²⁴From there he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house, and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.

²⁴بعد از آن عیسی از آنجا براه افتاد و به سرزمین صور رفته به خانه ای وارد شد و نمی خواست کسی بفهمد که او در آنجا است، اما نتوانست پنهان بماند.

²⁵For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.

²⁵فوراً زنی که دخترش گرفتار روح ناپاک بود از بودن او در آنجا اطلاع یافت و آمده پیش پای عیسی سجده کرد.

²⁶Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.

²⁶او که زنی یونانی و از اهالی فینیقیه سوریه بود، از عیسی خواهش کرد که روح ناپاک را از دخترش بیرون کند.

²⁷But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁷عیسی به او فرمود: «بگذار اول فرزندان سیر شوند، درست نیست نان فرزندان را گرفته و پیش سگ ها بیندازیم.»

²⁸But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

²⁸زن جواب داد: «ای آقا درست است، اما سگ های خانه نیز از پس مانده های خوراک فرزندان می خورند.»

²⁹He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

²⁹عیسی به او فرمود: «برو، بخاطر این جواب روح ناپاک از دخترت بیرون رفته است.»

³⁰She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

³⁰وقتی زن به خانه برگشت، دید که دخترش روی تخت خوابیده و روح ناپاک او را رها کرده است.

³¹Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.

³¹عیسی از سرزمین صور برگشت و از راه صیدون و دیکاپولس به بحیرۀ جلیل آمد.

³²They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.

³²در آنجا مردی را پیش او آوردند که کر بود و زبانش لکنت داشت. از او درخواست کردند که دست خود را روی آن مرد بگذارد.

³³He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue.

³³عیسی آن مرد را دور از جمعیت، به کناری برد و انگشت های خود را در گوش های او گذاشت و آب دهان انداخته زبانش را لمس نمود،

³⁴Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”

³⁴بعد به آسمان نگاه کرده آهی کشید و گفت: «اِفَتَح» یعنی «باز شو.»

³⁵Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.

³⁵فوراً گوش های آن مرد باز شد و لکنت زبانش از بین رفت و خوب حرف می زد.

³⁶He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

³⁶عیسی به آنها امر کرد که به کسی چیزی نگویند، اما هرچه او بیشتر ایشان را از این کار باز می داشت آن ها بیشتر آن را پخش می کردند.مردم که بی اندازه حیران شده بودند، می گفتند: «او همه کارها را بخوبی انجام داده است ـ کر ها را شنوا و گنگ ها را گویا می کند.»

³⁷They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”

³⁷مردم که بی اندازه حیران شده بودند، می گفتند: «او همه کارها را بخوبی انجام داده است ـ کر ها را شنوا و گنگ ها را گویا می کند.»
