¹این است نامهای کاهنان و لاویانی که همراه زِرُبابل (پسر شِئَلتیئیل) و یشوع به اورشلیم آمدند:

²Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,

²از کاهنان: سَرایا، ارمیا، عِزرا، اَمَریا، مَلوک، حطوش، شِکَنیا، رِحوم، مریموت، عِدو، جِنتون، اَبِیا، مِیامین، مَعَدیا، بِلجَه، شِمَعیه، یُویاریب، یَدَعیا، سَلو، عاموق، حِلقیا و یَدَعیا. این اشخاص در زمان یشوع از رهبران کاهنان بودند.

³Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,

³از لاویان: این لاویان دستۀ اول سرایندگان را رهبری می کردند: یشوع، بِنوی، قَدمی ئیل، شرَبیا، یهودا و مَتَنیا.

⁴Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,

⁴بَقبُقیا، عُنی و همراهان شان در مقابل آن دسته برای عبادت می ایستادند و می سرائیدند.

⁵Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

⁵یشوع پدر یُویاقیم، یُویاقیم پدر اَلِیاشیب، اَلِیاشیب پدر یُویاداع، یُویاداع پدر یُوناتان و یُوناتان پدر یدوع بود.

⁶Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah.

⁶اینها سران خاندانهای کاهنان بودند که در زمان یُویاقیم، کاهن اعظم خدمت می کردند: کاهن مرایا از خاندان سَرایا؛ حَنَنیا از ارمیا؛ مَشُلام از عَزرا؛ یَهُوحانان از اَمَریا؛ یُوناتان از مَلوک؛ یوسف از شَبَنیا؛ عَدنا از حاریم؛ حِلقای از مِرایوت؛ زِکَریا از عِدو؛ مَشُلام از جِنتون؛ زِکری از اَبِیا؛ فِلطای از مِنیامین و مُوعَدیا؛ شَموع از بِلجای؛ یَهُوناتان از شِمَعیه؛ مَتِنای از یُویاریب؛ عزی از یَدَعیا؛ قَلای از سَلای؛ عِبِر از عاموق؛ حَشَبیا از حِلقیا؛ نتنئیل از یَدَعیا.

⁷Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brothers in the days of Jeshua.

⁷هنگامی که الیاشیب، یهویاداع، یوحانان و یدوع، کاهن اعظم بودند، نامهای رؤسای خانواده ‌های کاهنان و ‏لاویان ثبت شده بود. این ثبت نام در زمان سلطنت داریوش شاهنشاه پارس، به اتمام رسید.‏

⁸Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brothers.

⁸البته نامهای سران لاویان تا زمان یُوحانان پسر اَلِیاشیب در دفاتر رسمی ثبت شدند.

⁹Also Bakbukiah and Unno, their brothers, were over against them according to their offices.

⁹لاویان به سرپرستی حَشَبیا، شرَبیا و یشوع (پسر قَدمی ئیل) و همراهان شان به چند دسته تقسیم می شدند و مطابق فرمان داود، مرد خدا، هر بار دو دسته در مقابل هم می ایستادند و سرودهای شکرانگی را در جواب یکدیگر می خواندند.

¹⁰Jeshua became the father of Joiakim, and Joiakim became the father of Eliashib, and Eliashib became the father of Joiada,

¹⁰نگهبانان عبادتگاه که از خزانه های عبادتگاه محافظت می کردند، عبارت بودند از: مَتَنیا، بَقبُقیا، عوبَدیا، مَشُلام، طَلمون و عَقوب.

¹¹and Joiada became the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan became the father of Jaddua.

¹¹اینها کسانی بودند که در زمان یُویاقیم (پسر یشوع، نواسۀ یُوصاداق)، نِحِمیای حاکم و عِزرای معلم و کاهن انجام وظیفه می دادند.

¹²In the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers’ households: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;

¹²هنگام تبرک دیوار اورشلیم، تمام لاویان از سراسر یهودا به اورشلیم آمدند تا با سرودهای شکرانگی همراه با نوای دایره و چنگ و رباب، جشن بگیرند و دیوار شهر را تبرک نمایند.

¹³of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;

¹³دستۀ سرایندگان لاوی از آبادی های اطراف اورشلیم که در آنجا برای خود دهکده هائی ساخته بودند، یعنی از دهات نِطوفا، بیت جِلجال، جِبَع و عَزموت به اورشلیم آمدند.

¹⁴of Malluchi, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;

¹⁴کاهنان و لاویان اول خود شان طهارت کردند، بعد قوم و در آخر دروازه ها و دیوار شهر را تطهیر نمودند.

¹⁵of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;

¹⁵من بزرگان یهودا را بر سر دیوار بردم و آن ها را به دو دسته تقسیم کردم، تا از جهت مخالف یکدیگر، شهر را دور بزنند و در حین دور زدن در سپاس خدا بسرایند. گروه اول از طرف راست بالای دیوار راه رفتند و بطرف «دروازۀ خاکروبه» براه افتادند.

¹⁶of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

¹⁶هوشَعیا در پشت سر سرایندگان حرکت می کرد و پشت سر او نیز نصف بزرگان یهودا قرار داشتند.

¹⁷of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;

¹⁷همراهان دیگر این گروه عبارت بودند از: عَزَریا، عَزرا، مَشُلام،

¹⁸of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;

¹⁸یَهُودا، بنیامین، شِمَعیه، ارمیا،

¹⁹and of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;

¹⁹و همچنین کاهنانی که شیپور می نواختند، زِکَریا (زِکَریا پسر یُوناتان، یُوناتان پسر شِمَعیه، شِمَعیه پسر مَتَنیا، مَتَنیا پسر میکایا، میکایا پسر زَکور و زَکور پسر آساف بود)،

²⁰of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;

²⁰و خویشاوندان او شِمَعیه، عَزرئیل، مِلَلای، جِلَلای، ماعای، نتنئیل، یهودا و حَنانی آلات موسیقی ای را با خود داشتند که داود، مرد خدا، تعیین کرده بود. عِزرای کاهن رهبری این گروه را بعهده داشت.

²¹of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

²¹وقتی آن ها به «دروازۀ چشمه» رسیدند، از زینه ای که به شهر قدیمی داود منتهی می شد بالا رفتند و از قصر داود گذشته به دیوار «دروازۀ آب» که در سمت شرقی شهر بود، بازگشتند.

²²As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, there were recorded the heads of fathers’ households; also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian.

²²گروه دوم نیز سرود خوانان از طرف دیگر براه افتادند. من هم همراه آن ها بودم. ما از «برج تنور» گذشتیم و به «دیوار عریض» رسیدیم.

²³The sons of Levi, heads of fathers’ households, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

²³سپس از بالای «دروازۀ افرایم»، «دروازۀ کهنه»، «دروازۀ ماهی»، «برج حَنَن ئیل» و «برج صد» گذشتیم تا به «دروازۀ گوسفند» رسیدیم. سرانجام در کنار دروازه ای که به عبادتگاه باز می شد، ایستادیم.

²⁴The chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch next to watch.

²⁴به این ترتیب، این دو گروه در حالیکه سرود می خواندند، وارد عبادتگاه شدند. کاهنانِ همراهِ من که شیپور می نواختند عبارت بودند از: اِلیاقِیم، مَعَسیا، مِنیامین، میکایا، اَلیُوعِینای، زَکَریا و حَنَنیا.

²⁵Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the watch at the storehouses of the gates.

²⁵دستۀ سرایندگان هم اینها بودند: مَعَسیا، شِمَعیه، اِلعازار، عزی، یُوحانان، مَلکیا، عیلام و عازَر. اینها به سرپرستی یِزرحیا با صدای بلند سرود می خواندند.

²⁶These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe.

²⁶در آن روز، قربانی های زیادی تقدیم کردند و مردم با زنان و فرزندان خود شادمان بودند، زیرا خدا قلب آن ها را سرشار از خوشی کرده بود. صدای خوشی و هلهلۀ اهالی اورشلیم از فاصلۀ دور شنیده می شد!

²⁷At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with giving thanks, and with singing, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and with harps.

²⁷در آن روز، عده ای تعیین شدند تا مسئول جمع آوری هدایا، ده فیصدی ها و میوۀ نو محصولات باشند. آن ها می بایست هدایا و محصولاتی را که طبق امر تورات، سهم کاهنان و لاویان بودند، از مزارع جمع آوری کنند. اهالی یهودا از خدمت کاهنان و لاویان خوشحال بودند،

²⁸The sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain around Jerusalem, and from the villages of the Netophathites;

²⁸زیرا آن ها مراسم تطهیر و سایر وظایفی را که خدا تعیین کرده بود، بجا می آوردند و دستۀ سرایندگان و محافظین نیز مطابق هدایتی که داود و پسرش، سلیمان داده بود، با آن ها کمک می کردند.

²⁹also from Beth Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had built them villages around Jerusalem.

²⁹(از زمان قدیم، یعنی از زمان داود و آساف برای دستۀ سرایندگان، سردسته تعیین شده بود تا آن ها را در خواندن سرودهای شکرگزاری و ستایش رهبری کنند.)پس در زمان زِرُبابل و نِحِمیا، مردم اسرائیل برای دستۀ سرایندگان، محافظین و لاویان هر روز بصورت مرتب خوراک می آوردند. لاویان هم از آنچه که می گرفتند سهم کاهنان را به آن ها می دادند.

³⁰The priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

³⁰پس در زمان زِرُبابل و نِحِمیا، مردم اسرائیل برای دستۀ سرایندگان، محافظین و لاویان هر روز بصورت مرتب خوراک می آوردند. لاویان هم از آنچه که می گرفتند سهم کاهنان را به آن ها می دادند.

³¹Then I brought up the princes of Judah on the wall, and appointed two great companies who gave thanks and went in procession. One went on the right hand on the wall toward the dung gate;

³²and after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,

³³and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,

³⁴Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,

³⁵and certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph;

³⁶and his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them.

³⁷By the spring gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even to the water gate eastward.

³⁸The other company of those who gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people, on the wall, above the tower of the furnaces, even to the broad wall,

³⁹and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even to the sheep gate: and they stood still in the gate of the guard.

⁴⁰So stood the two companies of those who gave thanks in God’s house, and I, and the half of the rulers with me;

⁴¹and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

⁴²and Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. The singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.

⁴³They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.

⁴⁴On that day were men appointed over the rooms for the treasures, for the wave offerings, for the first fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites who waited.

⁴⁵They performed the duty of their God, and the duty of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.

⁴⁶For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

⁴⁷All Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required: and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.
