¹He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

¹آنکه زیر پوشش خدای متعال قرار دارد، زیر سایۀ قادر مطلق ساکن خواهد بود.

²I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”

²به خداوند می گویم که او پناهگاه و قلعۀ من است و خدای من که به او توکل دارم.

³For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.

³حقیقتاً او ترا از دام صیاد و از مرض کشنده می رهاند.

⁴He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

⁴با شهپرهای خود ترا می پوشاند و در زیر بالهای او پناه خواهی گرفت. راستیِ او پناه و سپر تو می باشد.

⁵You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;

⁵از خوفی در شب نخواهی ترسید و نه از تیری که در روز می پرد.

⁶nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.

⁶از مرض کشندۀ که در تاریکی پیشرفت می کند نخواهی ترسید و نه از آفتی که در روز باعث تباهی می گردد.

⁷A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

⁷هزار نفر در پهلویت و ده هزار نفر در اطرافت خواهند افتاد، اما به تو صدمه ای نخواهد رسید.

⁸You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked.

⁸فقط با چشمان خود خواهی نگریست و مجازات شریران را خواهی دید.

⁹Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

⁹زیرا گفتی تو ای خداوند پناهگاه من هستی و خدای متعال را قلعۀ خود خواندی،

¹⁰no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

¹⁰پس هیچ بدی بر تو واقع نخواهد گردید و بلایی به جای سکونت تو نزدیک نخواهد شد،

¹¹For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

¹¹زیرا که او به فرشتگان خود امر خواهد فرمود تا در تمامیِ راههایت ترا حفظ نمایند.

¹²They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

¹²آن ها تو را بر دستهای خود خواهند برداشت، مبادا پایت به سنگی بخورد.

¹³You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.

¹³بر شیر و مار پای خواهی نهاد، شیر بچه و اژدها را پایمال خواهی کرد.

¹⁴“Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

¹⁴خداوند می فرماید: «چونکه به من محبت دارد، او را خواهم رهانید و چونکه اسم مرا می شناسد، او را سرافراز خواهم ساخت.

¹⁵He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

¹⁵وقتی بحضور من دعا کند او را اجابت خواهم کرد. من در زمان سختی با او خواهم بود و او را نجات داده، با عزت خواهم ساخت.او را با عمر طولانی سیر ساخته و نجات خویش را به او نشان خواهم داد.»

¹⁶I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.”
