¹It happened, when men began to multiply on the surface of the ground, and daughters were born to them,

¹Setelah manusia bertambah banyak dan tersebar di seluruh dunia, dan anak-anak perempuan dilahirkan,

²that God’s sons saw that men’s daughters were beautiful, and they took for themselves wives of all that they chose.

²makhluk-makhluk ilahi melihat bahwa gadis-gadis itu cantik-cantik. Lalu mereka mengawini gadis-gadis yang mereka sukai.

³Yahweh said, “My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; yet will his days be one hundred twenty years.”

³Maka berkatalah TUHAN, "Aku tidak memperkenankan manusia hidup selama-lamanya; mereka makhluk fana, yang harus mati. Mulai sekarang umur mereka tidak akan melebihi 120 tahun."

⁴The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when God’s sons came in to men’s daughters. They bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

⁴Pada zaman itu, dan juga sesudahnya, ada orang-orang raksasa di bumi. Mereka keturunan gadis-gadis manusia yang kawin dengan makhluk-makhluk ilahi. Orang-orang raksasa itu adalah pahlawan-pahlawan besar dan orang-orang termasyhur di zaman purbakala.

⁵Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

⁵TUHAN melihat betapa jahatnya orang-orang di bumi; semua pikiran mereka selalu jahat.

⁶Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

⁶Ia pun menyesal telah menjadikan mereka dan menempatkan mereka di bumi. Ia begitu kecewa,

⁷Yahweh said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.”

⁷sehingga berkata, "Akan Kubinasakan manusia yang telah Kuciptakan itu, dan juga segala burung dan binatang lainnya, sebab Aku menyesal telah menciptakan mereka."

⁸But Noah found favor in Yahweh’s eyes.

⁸Tetapi Nuh menyenangkan hati TUHAN.

⁹This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.

⁹Inilah riwayat Nuh. Ia mempunyai tiga anak laki-laki, yaitu Sem, Yafet dan Ham. Nuh tidak berbuat salah, dan dia satu-satunya orang yang baik pada zamannya. Ia hidup akrab dengan Allah.

¹⁰Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

¹⁰(6:9)

¹¹The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

¹¹Tetapi semua orang lainnya jahat dalam pandangan Allah, dan kekejaman terdapat di mana-mana.

¹²God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

¹²Allah memandang dunia itu dan hanya melihat kejahatan saja, sebab semua manusia jahat hidupnya.

¹³God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

¹³Lalu berkatalah Allah kepada Nuh, "Aku telah memutuskan untuk mengakhiri hidup segala makhluk. Aku akan memusnahkan mereka beserta bumi, karena bumi telah penuh dengan kekejaman mereka.

¹⁴Make a ship of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the ship, and shall seal it inside and outside with pitch.

¹⁴Buatlah sebuah kapal untukmu dari kayu yang kuat; buatlah bilik-bilik di dalamnya, dan lapisilah dengan ter dari dalam dan dari luar.

¹⁵This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship will be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.

¹⁵Kapal itu harus 133 meter panjangnya, 22 meter lebarnya, dan 13 meter tingginya.

¹⁶You shall make a roof in the ship, and you shall finish it to a cubit upward. You shall set the door of the ship in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third levels.

¹⁶Buatlah atap pada kapal itu, dan berilah jarak sebesar 44 sentimeter di antara atap dan dinding-dindingnya. Buatlah kapal itu bertingkat tiga, dan pasanglah sebuah pintu di sisinya.

¹⁷I, even I, do bring the flood of waters on this earth, to destroy all flesh having the breath of life from under the sky. Everything that is in the earth will die.

¹⁷Aku akan mendatangkan banjir untuk membinasakan setiap makhluk yang hidup di bumi. Segala sesuatu di bumi akan mati,

¹⁸But I will establish my covenant with you. You shall come into the ship, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.

¹⁸tetapi dengan engkau Aku hendak membuat perjanjian. Masuklah ke dalam kapal itu bersama-sama dengan istrimu, dan anak-anakmu serta istri-istri mereka.

¹⁹Of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ship, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.

¹⁹Bawalah ke dalam kapal itu seekor jantan dan seekor betina dari setiap jenis burung dan binatang lainnya, supaya mereka tidak turut binasa.

²⁰Of the birds after their kind, of the livestock after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.

²⁰(6:19)

²¹Take with you of all food that is eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it will be for food for you, and for them.”

²¹Bawalah juga segala macam makanan untukmu dan untuk binatang-binatang itu."

²²Thus Noah did. According to all that God commanded him, so he did.

²²Nuh melakukan segala sesuatu yang diperintahkan Allah kepadanya.
