Kabyle: New Testament

1 Thessalonians

5

1But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
1Ɣef wayen yeɛnan ussan akk d lweqt, fiḥel ma nura-yawen fell-asen.
2For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
2Teẓram s yiman-nwen belli ass-nni, Sidna Ɛisa a d-yuɣal am umakar deg iḍ.
3For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
3M'ara yinin yemdanen : « aql-aɣ di lehna ț-țalwit, » ass-nni ur țfiqen ara alamma yeɣli-d fell-asen nnger, am lewjaɛ m'ara ṭṭfen tameṭṭut yellan s tadist, yernu yiwen ur imenneɛ.
4But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
4Ma d kunwi ay atmaten, ur tellim ara di ṭṭlam iwakken a d-iɣli wass-nni fell-awen am umakar ;
5You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,
5axaṭer kunwi d arraw n tafat, tețțeddum deg wass ; nukni ur nelli ara d arraw n ṭṭlam iteddun deg yiḍ.
6so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
6Ihi ur ilaq ara a neɣfel am wiyaḍ, meɛna ilaq a nɛass iman-nneɣ yerna a nɛiwez.
7For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
7Wid yegganen gganen deg yiḍ, wid iṣekkren țṣekkiren deg yiḍ.
8But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
8Ma d nukni yellan d arraw n tafat, a nɛass ɣef yiman-nneɣ : a nesɛu liman d leḥmala am llebsa n wuzzal ițlusu uɛeskṛi, a nesɛu asirem n leslak, am tcacit n wuzzal ɣef wuqeṛṛuy.
9For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
9Axaṭer Sidi Ṛebbi ur aɣ-ixtaṛ ara iwakken a nețwaɛaqeb, meɛna yebɣa a nesɛu leslak s Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ
10who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
10i gemmuten fell-aɣ, iwakken ama nedder ama nemmut a nili yid-es.
11Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
11S wakka ihi, țemseǧhadet, țemṣebbaṛet wway gar-awen akken i txeddmem yakan.
12But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,
12Di leɛnaya-nwen ay atmaten, qadṛet wid iqeddcen gar-awen, axaṭer s yisem n Sidna Ɛisa Lmasiḥ i kkun nehhun, i kkun-sselmaden.
13and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
13Ɛuzzet țen tḥemmlem-ten ɣef ddemma n lxedma-nsen, ɛicet di lehna wway gar-awen.
14We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
14Di leɛnaya-nwen ay atmaten : nhut wid iteddun s yir tikli, ṣebbṛet wid iwumi ɣlin ifadden, refdet wid ifeclen, swesɛet ulawen-nwen ɣuṛ-sen meṛṛa.
15See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.
15Ḥadret iman-nwen ur țțarat ara țțaṛ, qellbet ɣef wayen yelhan ama gar-awen ama ɣer imdanen meṛṛa.
16Rejoice always.
16Ilit dayem di lfeṛḥ,
17Pray without ceasing.
17yal ass deɛɛut ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi,
18In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
18ḥemmdet-eț ɣef kullec. D ayagi i gețṛaǧu Sidi Ṛebbi deg-wen, di tikli-nwen akk-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
19Don’t quench the Spirit.
19Ur snusut ara tafat n Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen ;
20Don’t despise prophesies.
20ur ḥeqqṛet ara ayen i d-ițweḥḥi Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen i yemdanen.
21Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
21Meɛna meyzet, qeblet ayen yelhan,
22Abstain from every form of evil.
22ḥadret iman-nwen ɣef wayen n diri.
23May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
23Sidi Ṛebbi bab n talwit, ad iṣeffi ṛṛuḥ-nwen, lǧețțat nwen ț-țeṛwiḥin-nwen, iwakken aț țeqqimem d izedganen i wass i deg ara d-yuɣal Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
24He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
24Win i kkun-ixtaṛen, deg-s laman, d nețța ara kkun-iṣṣiwden ɣer wannect agi.
25Brothers, pray for us.
25Ay atmaten, deɛɛut ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi fell-aneɣ.
26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
26Sṣiwḍet sslam-iw i watmaten meṛṛa.
27I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
27Di leɛnaya-nwen, s yisem n Ssid-nneɣ, sseɣṛet tabṛaț-agi i watmaten meṛṛa.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
28Ṛṛeḥma n Ssid-nneɣ a d-ters fell-awen.
