1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and Christ Jesus our hope;
1Nekk Bulus amceggeɛ n Ɛisa Lmasiḥ, s lebɣi n Sidi Ṛebbi amsellek-nneɣ akk-d lebɣi n Ɛisa Lmasiḥ i deg yella usirem-nneɣ,
2to Timothy, my true child in faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
2i gma-tneɣ Timuti f+ i d-ṛebbaɣ di liman am mmi n tideț, lbaṛaka, ṛṛeḥma ț-țalwit a k-d-țțunefkent s ɣuṛ Sidi Ṛebbi Baba-tneɣ akk-d Ɛisa Lmasiḥ Ssid-nneɣ.
3As I urged you when I was going into Macedonia, stay at Ephesus that you might command certain men not to teach a different doctrine,
3Akken i k-nhiɣ uqbel ad ṛuḥeɣ ɣer tmurt n Masidunya qqim di temdint n Ifasus f+ iwakken ur tețțaǧǧaḍ ara kra n yemdanen ad slemden ayen i gxulfen tikli di liman,
4neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes, rather than God’s stewardship, which is in faith—
4ini-asen ad xḍun i tmucuha f+ d umeslay n zzux ɣef yizuṛan n tjaddit ur nețfaka, ayagi yețțawi-d lehduṛ ur nesɛi lfayda i ɣ-issebɛaden ɣef liman d lebɣi n Sidi Ṛebbi.
5but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and sincere faith;
5A sen-tiniḍ annect-agi iwakken a d-tessakiḍ deg wulawen-nsen leḥmala yeṣfan, ad ithedden lxaṭer-nsen yerna ad sɛun liman n tideț ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
6from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to vain talking;
6Llan kra n yemdanen ffɣen i webrid, țmeslayen kan ɣef wayen ur nesɛi lmeɛna.
7desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor about what they strongly affirm.
7Bɣan ad slemden i wiyaḍ ccariɛa n Sidi Ṛebbi, nutni s yiman-nsen ur fhimen d acu i d qqaṛen ur fhimen ayen i sselmaden.
8But we know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully,
8Neẓra belli ccariɛa n Sidi Ṛebbi d ayen yelhan ma yella netbeɛ-iț akken ilaq,
9as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
9meɛna ilaq daɣen a nẓer belli ccariɛa n Sidi Ṛebbi ur d-tețțunefk ara ɣef ddemma n iḥeqqiyen meɛna tețțunefk-ed ɣef ddemma n yemcumen, i wid iɛuṣan Ṛebbi, i imejhal, i imednuben akk-d wid ur nețțak ara lqima i wayen iqedsen, wid ur nețqadaṛ ara Ṛebbi, wid ineqqen imawlan-nsen akk-d iqettalen,
10for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
10i wid yeffɣen i webrid, i wat lɛaṛ, i wid itjaṛen deg waklan akk-d i ikeddaben, i wid ur nețțaṭṭaf ara deg wawal-nsen neɣ wid yețxalafen aselmed n tideț i wen-d yețțunefken.
11according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
11Akka i gella di lexbaṛ n lxiṛ i yi-d-ițțunefken, i d-isbegginen tamanegt n Sidi Ṛebbi ameɣlal.
12And I thank him who enabled me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he counted me faithful, appointing me to service;
12Ad ḥemdeɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ Ssid-nneɣ i yi-isǧehden, i yi-fkan laman iwakken ad iliɣ d aqeddac-is, yextaṛ-iyi-d ad iliɣ d aqeddac-is
13although I was before a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. However, I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
13ɣas akken zik regmeɣ-t yerna qehṛeɣ wid yumnen yis. Meɛna iɛfa-yi axaṭer imiren ur ẓriɣ ara d acu xeddmeɣ imi mazal ur sɛiɣ ara liman deg ul-iw.
14The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14Tura ṛṛeḥma-s tameqqrant ters-ed fell-i s liman d leḥmala yellan deg-s.
15The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
15Awal-agi d awal n tideț yuklalen ad ițwaqbel s lekmal-is : « Ɛisa Lmasiḥ yusa-d ɣer ddunit iwakken ad isellek imednuben ».
16However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience, for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.
16Iḥunn-ed fell-i nekk yellan d amednub ameqqran iwakken a d-isbeggen ṛṛeḥma-s yerna ad iliɣ d lemtel sya ɣer zdat i wid ara yamnen yis ad sɛun tudert n dayem.
17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
17I ugellid n dayem, ameɣlal ur țwalint wallen, win yellan d yiwen, i nețța tamanegt d lɛezz si lǧil ɣer lǧil ! Amin !
18This instruction I commit to you, my child Timothy, according to the prophecies which led the way to you, that by them you may wage the good warfare;
18A Timuti a mmi, a k-weṣṣiɣ ɣef wayen i d-caren fell-ak s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi si zik. Eṭṭef deg imeslayen-nni, sseǧhed iman-ik di liman s wul yeṣfan tedduḍ akken ilaq,
19holding faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust away made a shipwreck concerning the faith;
19axaṭer kra n yemdanen nniḍen wexxṛen i tikli yeṣfan armi i sṛuḥen liman-nsen.
20of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I delivered to Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.
20Llan gar-asen ?imni d Alixandru f+ sellmeɣ-ten i Cciṭan iwakken ad ẓren amek i tdeṛṛu d wid ireggmen Sidi Ṛebbi.
