19

1He entered and was passing through Jericho.
1Atvykęs Jėzus ėjo per Jerichą.
2There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
2Ir štai žmogus, vardu Zachiejus, muitininkų viršininkas ir turtuolis,
3He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
3troško pamatyti Jėzų, kas Jis esąs, bet negalėjo per minią, nes buvo žemo ūgio.
4He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way.
4Zachiejus užbėgo priekin ir įlipo į šilkmedį, kad galėtų Jį pamatyti, nes Jis turėjo ten praeiti.
5When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
5Kai Jėzus atėjo į tą vietą, pažvelgė aukštyn ir, pamatęs jį, tarė: “Zachiejau, greit lipk žemyn, nes šiandien turiu apsistoti tavo namuose”.
6He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
6Šis skubiai nulipo ir su džiaugsmu priėmė Jį.
7When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
7Tai matydami, visi murmėjo: “Pas nusidėjėlį užėjo į svečius!”
8Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
8O Zachiejus atsistojęs prabilo į Viešpatį: “Štai, Viešpatie, pusę savo turto atiduodu vargšams ir, jei ką nors nuskriaudžiau, grąžinsiu keturgubai”.
9Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
9Jėzus tarė: “Šiandien į šiuos namus atėjo išgelbėjimas, nes ir jis yra Abraomo sūnus.
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
10Juk Žmogaus Sūnus atėjo ieškoti ir gelbėti, kas buvo pražuvę”.
11As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately.
11Jiems klausantis, Jis tęsė ir pasakė palyginimą. Mat Jis buvo netoli Jeruzalės, ir žmonės manė, jog tuojau pat turi pasirodyti Dievo karalystė.
12He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
12Tad Jis kalbėjo: “Vienas aukštos kilmės žmogus iškeliavo į tolimą šalį, kad gautų karalystę ir sugrįžtų.
13 He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
13Pasišaukęs dešimt savo tarnų, padalijo jiems dešimt minų ir tarė: ‘Verskitės, kol sugrįšiu’.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
14Piliečiai nekentė jo ir nusiuntė iš paskos pasiuntinius pareikšti: ‘Mes nenorime, kad šitas mums viešpatautų’.
15 “It happened when he had come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
15Gavęs karalystę, jis sugrįžo ir liepė pašaukti tarnus, kuriems buvo davęs pinigų, norėdamas sužinoti, kiek kuris uždirbo.
16 The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
16Atėjo pirmasis ir tarė: ‘Valdove, tavo mina pelnė dešimt minų’.
17 “He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
17Jis atsakė: ‘Gerai, stropusis tarne! Kadangi pasirodei ištikimas mažuose dalykuose, tu gauni valdyti dešimtį miestų’.
18 “The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
18Atėjo antrasis ir pareiškė: ‘Valdove, tavo mina pelnė penkias minas’.
19 “So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
19Ir šitam jis pasakė: ‘Tu valdyk penkis miestus’.
20 Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
20Atėjo dar vienas ir tarė: ‘Valdove, štai tavo mina, kurią laikiau suvyniotą į skepetą.
21 for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
21Aš bijojau tavęs, nes esi griežtas žmogus: imi tai, ko nepadėjai, ir pjauni tai, ko nepasėjai’.
22 “He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
22Jis atsiliepė: ‘Tavo paties žodžiais teisiu tave, netikęs tarne. Tu žinojai, kad aš griežtas žmogus: imu, ko nepadėjau, ir pjaunu, ko nesėjau.
23 Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
23Tai kodėl neleidai mano pinigų apyvarton, kad sugrįžęs išreikalaučiau su palūkanomis?’
24 He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
24Šalia stovėjusiems jis tarė: ‘Atimkite iš jo miną ir atiduokite tam, kuris turi dešimt minų’.
25 “They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
25Tie atsakė: ‘Valdove, bet anas jau turi dešimt minų!’
26 ‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
26Jis tarė: ‘Aš sakau jums: kiekvienam, kas turi, bus duota, o iš neturinčio bus atimta net ir tai, ką turi.
27 But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
27O tuos mano priešus, nenorėjusius, kad jiems viešpataučiau, atveskite čia ir nužudykite mano akyse!’ ”
28Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
28Tai pasakęs, Jėzus visų priešakyje nukreipė žingsnius į Jeruzalę.
29It happened, when he drew near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
29Prisiartinęs prie Betfagės ir Betanijos, prie vadinamojo Alyvų kalno, Jis pasiuntė du mokinius,
30saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat. Untie it, and bring it.
30sakydamas jiems: “Eikite į priešais esantį kaimą ir įėję rasite pririštą asilaitį, kuriuo dar joks žmogus nėra jojęs. Atriškite jį ir atveskite.
31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
31O jeigu kas klaustų: ‘Kodėl jį atrišate?’, atsakykite: ‘Jo reikia Viešpačiui’ ”.
32Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them.
32Pasiųstieji nuėjo ir rado, kaip jiems buvo pasakyta.
33As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
33Atrišant asilaitį, savininkai klausė: “Kodėl atrišate asilaitį?”
34They said, “The Lord needs it.”
34Tie atsakė: “Jo reikia Viešpačiui”.
35They brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt, and set Jesus on them.
35Jie atvedė asilaitį pas Jėzų, apdengė savo apsiaustais ir užsodino Jėzų ant viršaus.
36As he went, they spread their cloaks in the way.
36Jam jojant, žmonės tiesė ant kelio savo drabužius.
37As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
37Besiartinant prie Alyvų kalno šlaito, visas mokinių būrys pradėjo džiaugsmingai ir garsiai šlovinti Dievą už visus stebuklus, kuriuos jie buvo regėję.
38saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
38Jie šaukė: “ ‘Palaimintas karalius, kuris ateina Viešpaties vardu!’ Ramybė danguje, šlovė aukštybėse!”
39Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
39Kai kurie fariziejai iš minios Jam sakė: “Mokytojau, sudrausk savo mokinius!”
40He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
40Jis jiems atsakė: “Sakau jums, jei šie tylės­akmenys šauks!”
41When he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it,
41Prisiartinęs prie Jeruzalės ir išvydęs miestą, Jėzus verkė dėl jo ir sakė:
42saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
42“O kad tu nors šiandien suprastum, kas tau atneša ramybę! Deja, tai paslėpta nuo tavo akių.
43 For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
43Tu sulauksi dienų, kai tavo priešai apjuos tave pylimu, apguls iš visų pusių ir suspaus tave;
44 and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”
44jie parblokš ant žemės tave ir tavo vaikus ir nepaliks tavyje akmens ant akmens, nes tu nepažinai savo aplankymo meto”.
45He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
45Įėjęs į šventyklą, Jis pradėjo varyti laukan parduodančius ir perkančius.
46saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
46Jis sakė jiems: “Parašyta: ‘Mano namai yra maldos namai’, o jūs pavertėte juos ‘plėšikų lindyne’ ”.
47He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
47Ir Jis kasdien mokė šventykloje. O aukštieji kunigai ir Rašto žinovai bei tautos vyresnieji troško Jį pražudyti,
48They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
48tačiau neišmanė, ką galėtų padaryti, nes visi žmonės apgulę Jį klausėsi.
