¹Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that behold, the place was a place for livestock;

²the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,

²Atėję pas Mozę, kunigą Eleazarą ir izraelitų kunigaikščius, jie tarė:

³“Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Beon,

³“Ataroto, Dibono, Jazero, Nimros, Hešbono, Elealės, Sebamo, Nebojo ir Beono žemės,

⁴the land which Yahweh struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock; and your servants have livestock.”

⁴kurios, Viešpačiui padedant, buvo užimtos izraelitų, labai tinka gyvuliams auginti, o mes, tavo tarnai, turime gyvulių.

⁵They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; don’t bring us over the Jordan.”

⁵Taigi jei radome malonę tavo akyse, prašome, kad mums, tavo tarnams, atiduotum ją nuosavybėn ir nevestum mūsų per Jordaną”.

⁶Moses said to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, “Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?

⁶Mozė jiems atsakė: “Argi, kai jūsų broliai kariaus, jūs čia sėdėsite?

⁷Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Yahweh has given them?

⁷Kodėl atkalbinėjate izraelitus, kad jie neitų į žemę, kurią Viešpats jiems atidavė?

⁸Your fathers did so when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to see the land.

⁸Taip elgėsi jūsų tėvai, kai siunčiau iš Kadeš Barnėjos apžiūrėti kraštą.

⁹For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which Yahweh had given them.

⁹Jie, nuėję iki Eškolo slėnio ir apžiūrėję visą kraštą, įbaugino izraelitus, kad neitų į šalį, kurią Viešpats jiems pažadėjo.

¹⁰Yahweh’s anger was kindled in that day, and he swore, saying,

¹⁰Tada Viešpats užsirūstinęs prisiekė:

¹¹‘Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

¹¹‘Šitie žmonės, kurie išėjo iš Egipto, dvidešimties metų ir vyresni, neišvys žemės, kurią pažadėjau Abraomui, Izaokui ir Jokūbui, nes jie nesekė manimi iki galo,

¹²except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun; because they have followed Yahweh completely.’

¹²išskyrus kenazą Jefunės sūnų Kalebą ir Nūno sūnų Jozuę, kurie iki galo sekė Viešpačiu’.

¹³Yahweh’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, who had done evil in the sight of Yahweh, was consumed.

¹³Viešpats, užsirūstinęs ant izraelitų, leido jiems klaidžioti dykumoje, kol išmirė visa karta, kuri buvo nusikaltusi Viešpačiui.

¹⁴“Behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Yahweh toward Israel.

¹⁴Dabar jūs stojate savo tėvų vieton, kad dar labiau padidintumėte Viešpaties įtūžimą prieš Izraelį.

¹⁵For if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all this people.”

¹⁵Jei nenorite Jo klausyti, Jis vėl paliks tautą dykumoje, ir jūs pražudysite visą šią tautą”.

¹⁶They came near to him, and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones:

¹⁶Jie, prisiartinę prie Mozės, tarė: “Pastatysime tvartus galvijams, taip pat mūsų vaikams miestus;

¹⁷but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

¹⁷mes gi patys apsiginklavę eisime į kovą izraelitų priekyje, kol įvesime juos į jų žemes. Tuo tarpu mūsų vaikai gyvens apmūrytuose miestuose dėl šio krašto gyventojų.

¹⁸We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.

¹⁸Negrįšime į savo namus, kol visi izraelitai gaus savo dalį,

¹⁹For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan, and forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.”

¹⁹nieko nereikalausime anoje pusėje Jordano, nes mūsų dalis yra šiapus Jordano”.

²⁰Moses said to them, “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Yahweh to the war,

²⁰Mozė jiems atsakė: “Jei taip darysite ir stosite į kovą Viešpaties akivaizdoje,

²¹and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before Yahweh, until he has driven out his enemies from before him,

²¹ir visi karui tinkami vyrai apsiginklavę pereis Jordaną, iki priešas bus nugalėtas

²²and the land is subdued before Yahweh; then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards Yahweh, and towards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before Yahweh.

²²ir visa žemė bus paimta, tuomet nenusikalsite nei Viešpačiui, nei Izraeliui ir ši žemė bus jūsų Viešpaties akivaizdoje.

²³“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against Yahweh; and be sure your sin will find you out.

²³Jei nedarysite, ką sakote, tai nusidėsite Viešpačiui ir žinokite, kad būsite nubausti.

²⁴Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.”

²⁴Taigi statykite miestus savo vaikams, tvartus avims bei galvijams ir įvykdykite, ką pažadėjote”.

²⁵The children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, “Your servants will do as my lord commands.

²⁵Gaditai ir rubenai atsakė Mozei: “Mes, tavo tarnai, darysime, ką mūsų valdovas liepia.

²⁶Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;

²⁶Savo vaikus ir moteris, avis ir galvijus paliksime Gileado miestuose,

²⁷but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Yahweh to battle, as my lord says.”

²⁷mes gi, tavo tarnai, visi apsiginklavę trauksime į karą, kaip tu, valdove, sakai”.

²⁸So Moses commanded concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the children of Israel.

²⁸Mozė įsakė kunigui Eleazarui, Nūno sūnui Jozuei ir izraelitų giminių vadams:

²⁹Moses said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man who is armed to battle, before Yahweh, and the land shall be subdued before you; then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:

²⁹“Jei gaditai ir rubenai kartu su jumis pereis Jordaną su ginklais ir žemė bus paimta, duokite jiems paveldėti Gileadą.

³⁰but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.”

³⁰Jei nenorės eiti kartu su jumis apsiginklavę į Kanaano žemę, tegul pasilieka tarp jūsų”.

³¹The children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, “As Yahweh has said to your servants, so will we do.

³¹Gaditai ir rubenai atsakė: “Kaip Viešpats įsakė savo tarnams, taip mes darysime.

³²We will pass over armed before Yahweh into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan.”

³²Mes eisime apsiginklavę Viešpaties akivaizdoje įs Kanaano žemę, kad gautume dalį šiapus Jordano”.

³³Moses gave to them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities and borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.

³³Mozė davė gaditams ir rubenams bei pusei Juozapo sūnaus Manaso giminės amoritų karaliaus Sihono ir Bašano karaliaus Ogo karalysčių žemes su jų miestais.

³⁴The children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,

³⁴Gaditai atstatė sutvirtintus Dibono, Ataroto, Aroero,

³⁵and Atrothshophan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah,

³⁵Atroto, Šofano, Jazero, Jogbohos,

³⁶and Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran: fortified cities, and folds for sheep.

³⁶Bet Nimros, Bet Harano miestus ir pastatė savo galvijams tvartus.

³⁷The children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,

³⁷Rubenai atstatė Hešboną, Elealę, Kirjataimą,

³⁸and Nebo, and Baal Meon, (their names being changed), and Sibmah: and they gave other names to the cities which they built.

³⁸Neboją, Baal Meoną ir Sibmą, pakeisdami jų vardus.

³⁹The children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were therein.

³⁹Manaso sūnaus Machyro sūnūs patraukė į Gileadą ir jį užėmė, išvydami jo gyventojus amoritus.

⁴⁰Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh; and he lived therein.

⁴⁰Mozė davė Gileado žemes Manaso sūnui Machyrui, kuris ten apsigyveno.

⁴¹Jair the son of Manasseh went and took its towns, and called them Havvoth Jair.

⁴¹O Manaso sūnus Jayras nuėjęs užėmė krašto miestelius ir juos pavadino Havot Jayru.

⁴²Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.

⁴²Taip pat Nobachas nuėjęs užėmė Kenatą su jo kaimais ir jį pavadino savo vardu­Nobachas.
