13

1Thus says Yahweh to me, Go, and buy yourself a linen belt, and put it on your waist, and don’t put it in water.
1TOUPAN ka kiangah hichiin a chi a: Puanmalngat kawnggak lei inla, kawtsak louin tengin.
2So I bought a belt according to the word of Yahweh, and put it on my waist.
2Huchiin TOUPA thu bangbang in kawnggak ka leia, ka tengta hi,
3The word of Yahweh came to me the second time, saying,
3Huan, TOUPA thu ka kiangah a hongtung nawna,
4Take the belt that you have bought, which is on your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.
5So I went, and hid it by the Euphrates, as Yahweh commanded me.
5Huchiin TOUPAN thu a honpiak banginka kuana, Euphrates lui chin ah ka selta a.
6It happened after many days, that Yahweh said to me, Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the belt from there, which I commanded you to hide there.
6Huan, ni tampi nungin TOUPAN ka kiangah, Thou inla, Euphrates lui juan inla, kawnggak ka honselsak lakhia in, a chi a.
7Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the belt from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the belt was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
7Huchiin Euphrates lui lamah ka hohtaa, ka thaia, ka selna akipan kawnggak ka pholhkhiaa. Ngai dih, kawnggak a na ngotkhin veka; bang ding mahin leng a phatuamta kei hi.
8Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
8Huan, TOUPA thu ka kiangah a hongtunga:
9Thus says Yahweh, In this way I will mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
9TOUPAN hichiin a chi: hichi mahbangin Juda kisathei pipi leh Jerusalem kiotsakna mahmahte ka hihse sin ahi.
10This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and are gone after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing.
10Hiai nam gilou, ka thute ngaikhe nuam loua, amau lungsim paupeng juia pathian dangte nasem leh be dinga delh zomite kawnggak bangmah dinga phatuam lou bang ahi ding uh.
11For as the belt clings to the waist of a man, so have I caused to cling to me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, says Yahweh; that they may be to me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
11Kawnggak mi kawnga a belh gige bangin Israel inko pumpi leh Juda inko pumpi ka mite leh ka minthanna leh ka kilawmna leh ka thupina a honghih theihna ding ua ka kianga belh gige dinga ka bawl lah ahi ngal ua; himahleh a limsak kei uh.
12Therefore you shall speak to them this word: Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall tell you, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
12Huan, hiai thu a kiang ua na gen ding ahi: TOUPA Israel Pathianin hichiin a chi: Hiang chiteng uain-in a dim ding, chiin. Huan, amau na kiangah, Hiang chiteng uain-in a dim ding chih ka theih louh uh ahi maw? a chi ding uh.
13Then you shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit on David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
13Huan, a kiang uah, TOUPAN hichiin a chi: Ngaiun, hiai gama teng tengteng, David tutphaha tu kumpipate, siampute, jawlneite leh Jerusalema teng tengtengte zukhamnain ka dimsak ding.
14I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, says Yahweh: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have compassion, that I should not destroy them.
14Amau ka kiphusak dinga, pate a tate utoh, chih TOUPA thu pawt ahi: amau ka hihman louhna khop dingin amau ka hehpihin ka hoihin ka lainat kei ding.
15Hear, and give ear; don’t be proud; for Yahweh has spoken.
15Ngaikhia unla, bil doh un; kisathei kei unla, TOUPAN thu a khahta hi.
16Give glory to Yahweh your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.
16TOUPA na Pathian uh pahtawi unla, mialna a tunsak maa khomui tang tungate na khe uh a kipal main, vak na lamet lai tak un mial a suaksaka, mial bikbek dingin a bawl sin hi.
17But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for your pride; and my eye shall weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because Yahweh’s flock is taken captive.
17Ahihhangin na ngaihkhiak kei uleh na kisaktheihna uh jiakin mundaiah ka kap nilouh ding; ka khitui leng nakpi takin a luang gige ding, TOUPA belam hon sala kaih a hih jiak un.
18Say to the king and to the queen mother, Humble yourselves, sit down; for your headdresses have come down, even the crown of your glory.
18Kumpipa leh a nu kiangah, Niam tut un, na lukhute ulah a keta ngala, na manglukhu thupi uh, chiin.
19The cities of the South are shut up, and there is none to open them: Judah is carried away captive, all of it; it is wholly carried away captive.
19Sim khopite a bing khina, kuamah hon vual louhin; Juda tengteng sal dingin a tang ua, a vek khojang un a tang khin uhi.
20Lift up your eyes, and see those who come from the north: where is the flock that was given you, your beautiful flock?
21What will you say, when he shall set over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? shall not sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail?
21Nangmahin lawm dia na bawlte na tunga a koih hun chiang un bangchin na chi dia? numei nauvei bang maiin na nasa ngial kei ding maw?
22If you say in your heart, Why are these things come on me? for the greatness of your iniquity are your skirts uncovered, and your heels suffer violence.
22Bangjiakin ahia hiaite ka tunga a hongtun? chi sim na hih leh, na thulimlouhna jiakin ahi na nik lem a hiha na vuaktanna a kimuh.
23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.
23Ethiopia mi vomin a vun a hihlamdangin gialbemin a jia a sel thei ahia? Huchi ahihleh nou thil gilou hihhat sek ten leng thil hoih hih thei na ve uteh!
24Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that passes away, by the wind of the wilderness.
24Gamdai huihin buhsi a mutleng bang maiin amau ka dalhsak ding.
25This is your lot, the portion measured to you from me, says Yahweh; because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
26Therefore will I also uncover your skirts on your face, and your shame shall appear.
27I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries, and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You will not be made clean; how long shall it yet be?
