1Then Job answered,
1Huan Jobin a dawnga, hichiin a chi a:
2“I have heard many such things. You are all miserable comforters!
2Huchibang thil tampi ka zata hi: lungmuanmi chimtakhuai ngen na hi uhi.
3Shall vain words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?
3Thu bangmahlouten tawp a nei ding uam? ahihkeileh dawng dinga nang honhihheh bang ahia?
4I also could speak as you do. If your soul were in my soul’s place, I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you,
4Nou bangin kei leng ka pai thei sam hi; na kha uh ka kha muna om hileh, noute dema thute kaikhawma, ka lu hon sinkhum thei ding hi vengin.
5but I would strengthen you with my mouth. The solace of my lips would relieve you.
5Himahleh ka kamin nou kon hatsak dinga, ka muka muannain na lungkhamna uh kon nem ding.
6“Though I speak, my grief is not subsided. Though I forbear, what am I eased?
6Thu gen mahleng, ka dahna nepin a om keia: huan doh mahleng, hihnopin ka oma hia?
7But now, God, you have surely worn me out. You have made desolate all my company.
7Himahleh a honchimtak saktaa: ka lawmte tengteng na hihgamta hi.
8You have shriveled me up. This is a witness against me. My leanness rises up against me. It testifies to my face.
8Huan kip takin na honlena, huai tuh kei demna theihpihna ahi: huchiin ka gawnna kei demin a thoua, ka mai tangah a theisak hi.
9He has torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me. He has gnashed on me with his teeth. My adversary sharpens his eyes on me.
9A hehnain kei a honbot keka, a honsawi hi; a ha a hon gawi khuma: ka tungah ka galin a mit a tathiam hi.
10They have gaped on me with their mouth. They have struck me on the cheek reproachfully. They gather themselves together against me.
10A kam uh lianpiin a honkat khum ua; simmoh takin biang ah a honbeng uh: kei dou dingin a kikai khawm ua.
11God delivers me to the ungodly, and casts me into the hands of the wicked.
11Pathianin pathianlimsakloute kiangah a honpe khiaa, migiloute khut ah a honpai khia hi.
12I was at ease, and he broke me apart. Yes, he has taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces. He has also set me up for his target.
12Om nuamin ka om, huan a honkitam jaksaka; ahi, ka ngawngin a honmana, a honpai nen hi: a muitum dingin a hontung tou lai hi.
13His archers surround me. He splits my kidneys apart, and does not spare. He pours out my gall on the ground.
13A thalkapmiten ka kim ka velah a hon um ua, ka sisanguite a bottata, a hawi kei; leiah ka sinkha a sung khia hi.
14He breaks me with breach on breach. He runs on me like a giant.
14Siatna tungah siatnain a honsesaka; galhat bangin ka tungah a tai.
15I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, and have thrust my horn in the dust.
15Ka vun tungah saiip ka khuia, leivui ah ka kingata hi.
16My face is red with weeping. Deep darkness is on my eyelids.
16Kahnain ka mai a hoihta keia, ka mitvunte ah sihna limliap a om hi;
17Although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.
17Ka khut ah hiamgamna omkei mahleh, huan ka thumna siangthou mahleh.
18“Earth, don’t cover my blood. Let my cry have no place to rest.
18Aw lei, ka sisan khuh ken, huan ka kahnain khawlmun neikei hen.
19Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven. He who vouches for me is on high.
19Tu mahmahin, Ngaiin, a hontheihpih van ah a oma, kei hontheihpihpa tungsangah a om hi.
20My friends scoff at me. My eyes pour out tears to God,
20Ka lawmten honnuihsan ua, himahleh ka mitin Pathian lamah khituite a sungkhia hi;
21that he would maintain the right of a man with God, of a son of man with his neighbor!
21Huchia Pathian laka mihing dikna a letkip theiha, a inveng laka mihing tapa dikna, a letkip theihna dingin:Kum tawm a hongtun chiangin lah ka kik nawn louhna ding lampi ah ka pai ta ding ahi ngala.
22For when a few years have come, I shall go the way of no return.
22Kum tawm a hongtun chiangin lah ka kik nawn louhna ding lampi ah ka pai ta ding ahi ngala.
