¹Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

¹ این است نام مردانی که نزد داوود در صقلغ آمدند، هنگامی‌که داوود به‌خاطر شائول پادشاه پسر قیس نمی‌توانست با آزادی حرکت کند، ایشان از گروه دلاورانی بودند که در نبرد، داوود را یاری کردند.

²They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow: they were of Saul’s brothers of Benjamin.

² ایشان از طایفهٔ بنیامین و از نزدیکان شائول بودند، ایشان می‌توانستند با دست راست و چپ با کمان تیراندازی و با فلاخن سنگ پرتاب کنند.

³The chief was Ahiezer; then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth, and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite,

³ رهبر ایشان اخیعزر بود. سپس یوآش، هر دو پسران شماعه جبعاتی و یحزیئیل و فالط، پسران عزموت و براکه و ییهوی عناتوتی؛

⁴and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite,

⁴ شمعیای جبعونی مردی نیرومند در میان آن سی نفر و رهبر ایشان بود، ارمیا و یحزیئیل، یوحانان، یوزاباد جدیراتی،

⁵Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,

⁵ العوزای، یریموت، بعلیا، شمریا، شفطیای حروفی،

⁶Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites,

⁶ القانه، یشیا، عزرئیل، یوعزر، و یشبعاماز از خانوادهٔ قورحیان،

⁷and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

⁷ یوعیله و زبدیا، پسران یروحام جدوری.

⁸Of the Gadites there separated themselves to David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes on the mountains;

⁸ هنگامی‌که داوود در قلعهٔ بیابانی بود رزمندگانی نیرومند و با تجربه، از طایفهٔ جاد که متخصص در سپر و نیزه، شیرچهره و مانند آهو در کوه تیزپا بودند، به او پیوستند.

⁹Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

⁹ عازر فرمانده، دومین عوبدیا، سومین الیاب،

¹⁰Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

¹⁰ چهارمین مشمنه، پنجمین ارمیا،

¹¹Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

¹¹ ششمین عتای، هفتمین الیئیل،

¹²Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

¹² هشتمین یوحانان، نهمین الزاباد،

¹³Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.

¹³ دهمین ارمیا و یازدهمین مکبنای.

¹⁴These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army: he who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand.

¹⁴ این جادیان همه افسران ارتش بودند کوچکترین آنها برابر با صد نفر و بزرگترین ایشان برابر با هزار نفر بود.

¹⁵These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

¹⁵ آنها در ماه اول سال هنگامی‌که رود اردن طغیان می‌کند، از آن گذشتند و مردمی را که در دشتهای شرقی و غربی رود اردن می‌زیستند پراکنده ساختند.

¹⁶There came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold to David.

¹⁶ گروهی از مردان طایفه‌های بنیامین و یهودا به قلعه‌ای که داوود در آن بود رفتند.

¹⁷David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.”

¹⁷ داوود به ملاقات ایشان رفت و گفت: «اگر شما برای دوستی و کمک به من آمده‌اید، به اینجا خوش آمدید، به ما بپیوندید؛ امّا اگر قصد شما خیانت کردن به من در برابر دشمنان است با وجودی که من سعی نکرده‌ام به شما آسیبی برسانم، خدای اجدادمان خواهد دانست و شما را مجازات خواهد کرد.»

¹⁸Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse: peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

¹⁸ آنگاه روح خدا بر عماسای که بعداً فرمانده سی نفر شد فرود آمد و او چنین گفت: «ای داوود پسر یَسی، ما از آن تو هستیم، پیروزی بر تو و کسانی‌که یاران تو هستند، خداوند پشتیبان توست.» داوود به ایشان خوش‌آمد گفت و ایشان را سرداران سپاه خود کرد.

¹⁹Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle; but they didn’t help them; for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”

¹⁹ هنگامی‌که داوود با فلسطینیان برای جنگ با شائول پادشاه می‌رفت گروهی از مردان طایفهٔ منسی به او پیوستند. امّا داوود به فلسطینیان کمک نکرد، زیرا پادشاهان ایشان ترسیدند که داوود به او خیانت کند و به سرور سابق خود بازگردد، در نتیجه داوود را به صقلغ باز فرستادند،

²⁰As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh.

²⁰ اینها نامهای مردان منسی هستند که با داوود به صقلغ رفتند: عدناح، یوزاباد، یدیعئیل، میکائیل، یوزاباد، الیهو و صلتای. اشخاص نامبرده سرداران گروهانهای هزار نفری منسی بودند.

²¹They helped David against the band of rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the army.

²¹ ایشان در نیروهای داوود افسر وظیفه بودند، زیرا همهٔ ایشان جنگجویان بارزی بودند.

²²For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like the army of God.

²² تقریباً هر روز مردان جدیدی به نیروهای داوود می‌پیوستند. بنابراین او بزودی دارای ارتش بزرگی شد.

²³These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of Yahweh.

²³ این است تعداد افرادی از نیروهای مسلّح که در حبرون به داوود پیوستند تا مطابق کلام خداوند پادشاهی را از شائول به داوود واگذار کنند.

²⁴The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.

²⁴ از طایفهٔ یهودا: مسلّح با سپر و نیزه، شش هزار و هشتصد نفر.

²⁵Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

²⁵ از طایفهٔ شمعون، مردان شجاع و آماده برای جنگ، هفت هزار و صد نفر.

²⁶Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.

²⁶ از طایفهٔ لاوی: چهار هزار و ششصد نفر.

²⁷Jehoiada was the leader of the household of Aaron; and with him were three thousand and seven hundred,

²⁷ یهویاداع، رئیس خانوادهٔ هارون همراه با سه هزار و هفتصد نفر.

²⁸and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father’s house twenty-two captains.

²⁸ صادوق، جوان شجاع، با بیست و دو نفر از رؤسای خانوادهٔ پدرش.

²⁹Of the children of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.

²⁹ از طایفهٔ بنیامین: سه هزار نفر خویشاوندان شائول، بسیاری از آنها تا آن زمان به شائول وفادار ماندند.

³⁰Of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers’ houses.

³⁰ از طایفهٔ افرایم: بیست هزار و هشتصد نفر، همگی جنگجویان شجاع معروف خانوادهٔ خود بودند.

³¹Of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.

³¹ از نیم طایفهٔ منسی: هجده هزار نفر که به نمایندگی از طایفهٔ خود برای مراسم تاجگذاری داوود آمده بودند.

³²Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their heads were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their commandment.

³² از طایفهٔ یساکار: دویست نفر از رهبران و افراد تحت فرمان ایشان. این رهبران کسانی بودند که موقعیّت زمانی را درک می‌کردند و می‌دانستند که قوم اسرائیل باید چه کند

³³Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, with all kinds of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and who could command and were not of double heart.

³³ از طایفهٔ زبولون: پنجاه‌هزار نفر سرباز کارآموزده، مسلّح به تمام وسایل جنگی، آماده نبرد، با هدفی مشترک که به داوود کمک کنند.

³⁴Of Naphtali one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand.

³⁴ از طایفهٔ نفتالی: هزار فرمانده و سی و هفت هزار نفر مسلّح به سپر و نیزه.

³⁵Of the Danites who could set the battle in array, twenty-eight thousand six hundred.

³⁵ از طایفهٔ دان: بیست و هشت هزار و ششصد نفر مردان آماده برای جنگ.

³⁶Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, forty thousand.

³⁶ از طایفهٔ اشیر: چهل هزار نفر مردان با تجربه و آماده برای جنگ

³⁷On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle, one hundred twenty thousand.

³⁷ از طایفه‌های رئوبین، جاد و نصف طایفهٔ منسی از شرق رود اردن صد و بیست هزار سرباز مسلّح به تمام سلاحهای جنگی.

³⁸All these being men of war, who could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

³⁸ تمام این رزمندگان، آماده نبرد با ارادهٔ راسخ به حبرون رفتند تا داوود را پادشاه تمام اسرائیل سازند. بقیّهٔ مردم اسرائیل در این هدف متّحد بودند.

³⁹They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had made preparation for them.

³⁹ ایشان مدّت سه روز با داوود از غذاها و نوشابه‌هایی که هموطنانشان تهیّه کرده بودند خوردند و نوشیدند. همچنین همسایگان ایشان، از سرزمین یساکار، زبولون و نفتالی آمدند و به پشت الاغها شترها، قاطرها و گاوها خوراک آوردند. خوراک فراوان، آرد، نان انجیری، زنبیلهای انجیر و کشمش، شراب، روغن زیتون گاو و گوسفند آورده شد، زیرا در اسرائیل شادمانی بود.

⁴⁰Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, food of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and cattle, and sheep in abundance: for there was joy in Israel.

⁴⁰ همچنین همسایگان ایشان، از سرزمین یساکار، زبولون و نفتالی آمدند و به پشت الاغها شترها، قاطرها و گاوها خوراک آوردند. خوراک فراوان، آرد، نان انجیری، زنبیلهای انجیر و کشمش، شراب، روغن زیتون گاو و گوسفند آورده شد، زیرا در اسرائیل شادمانی بود.
