¹Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

¹ و امّا دربارهٔ عطایای روح‌القدس: ای دوستان من، من نمی‌خواهم در این خصوص بی‌اطّلاع باشید.

²You know that when you were heathen or Gentiles , you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

² شما می‌دانید زمانی‌که هنوز خداناشناس بودید، به سوی بُتهای بی‌زبان كشیده می‌شدید و گمراه می‌گشتید.

³Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.

³ پس باید بفهمید كه اگر كسی تحت تأثیر روح خدا باشد، نمی‌تواند عیسی را لعن كند و كسی هم نمی‌تواند عیسی را خداوند بداند، مگر به وسیلهٔ روح‌القدس.

⁴Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

⁴ عطایای روحانی گوناگون است امّا همهٔ آنها را یک روح می‌بخشد.

⁵There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.

⁵ خدمات ما گوناگون است امّا تمام این خدمات برای یک خداوند است.

⁶There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.

⁶ فعالیّتهای ما نیز مختلف است امّا یک خداست كه در همه عمل می‌کند.

⁷But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

⁷ در هر فرد، روح خدا به نوعی خاص برای خیریّت تمام مردم تجلّی می‌کند.

⁸For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

⁸ مثلاً روح‌القدس به یكی بیان حكمت عطا می‌کند و به دیگری بیان معرفت.

⁹to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;

⁹ به یكی ایمان می‌بخشد و به دیگری قدرت شفا دادن.

¹⁰and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.

¹⁰ به یكی قدرت معجزه و به دیگری قدرت نبوّت و به سومی عطیهٔ تشخیص ارواح عطا می‌کند. به یكی قدرت تكلّم به زبانها و به دیگری قدرت ترجمهٔ زبانها را می‌بخشد.

¹¹But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

¹¹ امّا كلّیهٔ این عطایا كار یک روح واحد است و او آنها را بر طبق ارادهٔ خود به هرکس عطا می‌فرماید.

¹²For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

¹² بدن انسان، واحدی است كه از اعضای بسیار تشكیل شده و اگرچه دارای اعضای متفاوت می‌باشد، باز هم بدن واحد است و مسیح هم همین‌طور می‌باشد.

¹³For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

¹³ پس همهٔ ما خواه یهود، خواه یونانی، خواه برده و خواه آزاد به وسیلهٔ یک روح در بدن تعمید یافته‌ایم و همه از همان روح پر شده‌ایم تا از او بنوشیم.

¹⁴For the body is not one member, but many.

¹⁴ بدن از یک عضو ساخته نشده بلكه شامل اعضای بسیار است.

¹⁵If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

¹⁵ اگر پا بگوید: «چون دست نیستم به بدن تعلّق ندارم.» آیا به‌خاطر این حرف، دیگر عضو بدن نیست؟

¹⁶If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

¹⁶ یا اگر گوش بگوید: «به علّت اینكه چشم نیستم به بدن متعلّق نیستم.» آیا به این دلیل دیگر عضو بدن محسوب نمی‌شود؟

¹⁷If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

¹⁷ اگر تمام بدن چشم بود، چگونه می‌توانست بشنود؟ و اگر تمام بدن گوش بود، چگونه می‌توانست ببوید؟

¹⁸But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

¹⁸ در حقیقت خدا جای مناسبی را به همهٔ اعضای بدن طبق ارادهٔ خود بخشیده است.

¹⁹If they were all one member, where would the body be?

¹⁹ اگر تنها یک عضو بود، بدنی وجود نمی‌داشت!

²⁰But now they are many members, but one body.

²⁰ امّا در واقع اعضاء بسیار است، ولی بدن یكی است.

²¹The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

²¹ پس چشم نمی‌تواند به دست بگوید: «محتاج تو نیستم.» یا سر نمی‌تواند به پا بگوید: «به تو نیازی ندارم.»

²²No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

²² برعکس، اعضایی كه به ظاهر ضعیفند وجودشان بیش از همه ضروری است؛

²³Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;

²³ و اعضایی را كه پست می‌شماریم، با دقّت بیشتری می‌پوشانم و آن قسمت از اعضای بدن خود را كه زیبا نیستند، با توجّه خاصّی می‌آراییم،

²⁴whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

²⁴ حال آنكه اعضای زیبای ما به چنین آرایشی احتیاج ندارد. آری، خدا اعضای بدن را طوری به هم مربوط ساخته كه به اعضای پست‌تر بدن اهمیّت بیشتری داده می‌شود.

²⁵that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

²⁵ تا به این ترتیب در بین اعضای بدن ناهماهنگی به وجود نیاید، بلكه تمام اعضاء نسبت به یكدیگر توجّه متقابل داشته باشند.

²⁶When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

²⁶ اگر عضوی به درد آید، اعضای دیگر در درد آن عضو شریک هستند. همچنین اگر یكی از اعضاء مورد تحسین واقع شود، اعضای دیگر نیز خوشحال خواهند بود.

²⁷Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

²⁷ باری، شما جمعاً بدن مسیح و همه عضوی از اعضای بدن او هستید.

²⁸God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.

²⁸ مقصودم این است كه خدا در كلیسا اشخاص معیّنی را به شرح زیر قرار داده است: اول رسولان، دوم انبیا، سوم معلّمین و بعد از اینها معجزه‌كنندگان و شفادهندگان و مددكاران و مدیران و آنانی كه به زبانهای مختلف سخن می‌گویند.

²⁹Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?

²⁹ آیا همه رسول یا نبی یا معلّم هستند؟ آیا همه معجزه می‌کنند

³⁰Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

³⁰ یا قدرت شفا دادن دارند؟ آیا همه به زبانها سخن می‌گویند یا همه زبانها را ترجمه می‌کنند؟ پس با اشتیاق خواهان بهترین عطایا باشید و اكنون بهترین راه را به شما نشان خواهم داد.

³¹But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
