¹Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.

¹ یوتام در سن بیست و پنج سالگی به پادشاهی رسید و مدّت شانزده سال در اورشلیم حکومت کرد. مادرش یَرُوشَه، دختر صادوق بود.

²He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that his father Uzziah had done: however he didn’t enter into Yahweh’s temple. The people still did corruptly.

² او مانند پدرش عُزیا آنچه که خداوند را خشنود می‌کرد، انجام می‌داد. امّا مانند پدرش با سوزاندن بُخور در معبد بزرگ مرتکب گناه نشد. با این وجود مردم به گناه ورزیدن ادامه دادند.

³He built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.

³ یوتام دروازهٔ شمالی معبد بزرگ را بازسازی کرد و دیوارهای اورشلیم را در محلهٔ عوفل تعمیر اساسی کرد.

⁴Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

⁴ او شهرهایی در کوههای یهودا ساخت و در جنگلها قلعه‌ها و بُرجها ساخت.

⁵He fought also with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. The children of Ammon gave that much to him in the second year also, and in the third.

⁵ او با پادشاه عمونی‌ها جنگید و او را شکست داد و ایشان را مجبور کرد که برای سه سال سه هزار و چهارصد کیلوگرم نقره، هزار تُن گندم و هزار تُن جو به او خراج بدهند.

⁶So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before Yahweh his God.

⁶ یوتام نیرومند شد، زیرا وفادارنه از خداوند، خدای خود پیروی می‌کرد.

⁷Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

⁷ بقیّهٔ رویدادها، جنگها و سیاستهای سلطنت یوتام در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل و یهودا نوشته شده است.

⁸He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

⁸ یوتام بیست و پنج ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدّت شانزده سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد. هنگامی‌که درگذشت او را در شهر داوود به خاک سپردند و پسرش، آحاز جانشین او شد.

⁹Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
