¹In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

¹ در سال بیست و هفتم سلطنت یربعام دوم، پادشاه اسرائیل، عزریا پسر امصیا پادشاه یهودا شد.

²Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

² او شانزده ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدّت پنجاه و دو سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. نام مادر او یکلیا و اهل اورشلیم بود.

³He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

³ او آنچه را که در نظر خداوند نیک بود، مانند پدرش امصیا انجام می‌داد.

⁴However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

⁴ امّا پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌ها ویران نشدند و مردم به قربانی کردن و سوزاندن بُخور در آنجا ادامه دادند.

⁵Yahweh struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the king’s son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

⁵ خداوند پادشاه را تا پایان عمرش به جذام مبتلا کرد و او در خانه‌ای جدا زندگی می‌کرد. یوتام پسر پادشاه سرپرستی کاخ را به عهده داشت و بر کشور حکومت می‌کرد.

⁷Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his place.

⁷ عزریا درگذشت و در گورستان سلطنتی در شهر داوود به خاک سپرده شد و پسرش، یوتام به جایش پادشاه شد.

⁸In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.

⁸ در سال سی و هشتم سلطنت عزریا پادشاه یهودا، زکریا پسر یربعام در سامره پادشاه اسرائیل شد و مدّت شش ماه سلطنت کرد.

⁹He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as his fathers had done: he didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

⁹ او آنچه را که در نظر خداوند پلید بود، مانند اجدادش انجام داد. او از گناهان یربعام پسر نباط که اسرائیل را به گناه کشاند، دوری نجُست.

¹⁰Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and struck him before the people, and killed him, and reigned in his place.

¹⁰ شلوم پسر یابیش برضد زکریا توطئه کرد و او را در حضور مردم در ایبلیئم کشت و به جای او به تخت پادشاهی نشست.

¹¹Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

¹¹ همهٔ کارهای زکریا در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده است.

¹²This was the word of Yahweh which he spoke to Jehu, saying, “Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.” So it came to pass.

¹² این وعدهٔ خداوند به ییهو که فرمود: «پسران تو تا نسل چهارم بر تخت پادشاهی اسرائیل خواهند نشست.» به انجام رسید.

¹³Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned for a month in Samaria.

¹³ در سال سی و نهم سلطنت عُزیا، پادشاه یهودا، شلوم، پسر یابیش پادشاه شد و مدّت یک ماه در سامره سلطنت کرد.

¹⁴Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him, and reigned in his place.

¹⁴ بعد مناخیم، پسر جادی از تِرصه به سامره آمد و شلوم را در آنجا کشت و خودش به جای او پادشاه اسرائیل شد.

¹⁵Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

¹⁵ بقیّهٔ کارهای شلوم و توطئه او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده است.

¹⁶Then Menahem struck Tiphsah, and all who were therein, and its borders, from Tirzah: because they didn’t open to him, therefore he struck it; and all the women therein who were with child he ripped up.

¹⁶ مناخیم در راه ترصه، شهر تِفصَح و حومهٔ آن را با خاک یکسان کرد و تمام ساکنان آن را کشت زیرا ایشان به او تسلیم نشده بودند. او حتّی شکم همهٔ زنان حامله را پاره کرد.

¹⁷In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel for ten years in Samaria.

¹⁷ در سال سی و نهم سلطنت عزریا پادشاه یهودا، مناخیم پسر جادی، بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل نشست و مدّت ده سال در سامره حکومت کرد.

¹⁸He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: he didn’t depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

¹⁸ او آنچه را که در نظر خداوند پلید بود، انجام داد و در تمام طول زندگیش از گناهانی که یربعام پسر نباط، اسرائیل را به گناه کشاند، دوری نجست.

¹⁹There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

¹⁹ تغلت فلاسر، امپراتور آشور، اسرائیل را اشغال کرد و مناخیم سی و چهار تُن نقره به او داد تا پشتیبانی او را برای استحکام قدرت خود در کشور جلب کند.

²⁰Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and didn’t stay there in the land.

²⁰ مناخیم این پول را بزور از ثروتمندان اسرائیل گرفت و هر کدام پنجاه تکه نقره پرداختند. آنگاه تغلت فلاسر، امپراتور آشور به کشور خود بازگشت.

²² مناخیم درگذشت و پسرش، فَقَحیا جانشین او شد.

²³In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria for two years.

²³ در سال پنجاهم سلطنت عزریا پادشاه یهودا، فَقَحیا پسر مناخیم در سامره بر تخت سلطنت اسرائیل نشست و مدّت دو سال پادشاهی کرد.

²⁴He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: he didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

²⁴ او کارهایی کرد که در نظر خداوند زشت بودند. او از کارهای بد یربعام، پسر نباط که مردم اسرائیل به راه خطا برد دست نکشید.

²⁵Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and struck him in Samaria, in the castle of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his place.

²⁵ یکی از مأموران او به نام فِقَح، پسر رَمَلیا برضد او شورش کرد و با همراهی پنجاه نفر از مردم جلعاد، او را با دو نفر دیگر به نامهای ارحوب و اریه در کاخ شاهی در سامره به‌ قتل رساند و به جای او پادشاه شد.

²⁷In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria for twenty years.

²⁷ در سال پنجاه و دوم سلطنت عزریا پادشاه یهودا، فِقَح، پسر رملیا در سامره پادشاه شد و مدّت بیست سال بر اسرائیل سلطنت کرد.

²⁸He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: he didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

²⁸ او هر آنچه را در نظر خداوند پلید بود، انجام داد و از گناهان یربعام پسر نباط، که اسرائیل را به گناه کشید، دوری نجست.

²⁹In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel Beth Maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.

²⁹ در دوران سلطنت فِقَح، تِغلَت فلاسر امپراتور آشور، به اسرائیل حمله کرد و شهرهای عیون، آبل، بیت معکه، یانوح، قادش، حاصور، جلعاد، جلیل و تمام سرزمین نفتالی را تصرّف کرد و مردم آنجا را اسیر کرده، به آشور برد.

³⁰Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck him, and killed him, and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

³⁰ در سال بیستم سلطنت یوتام پسر عزریا، هوشع پسر ایله دست به شورش زد و در حمله‌ای فِقَح را به قتل رساند و به عوض او پادشاه شد.

³²In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

³² در سال دوم پادشاهی فِقَح، یوتام پسر عُزیا پادشاه یهودا شد.

³³He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

³³ او در بیست و پنج سالگی به پادشاهی رسید و مدّت شانزده سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد. نام مادرش یَرُوشا، دختر صادوق بود.

³⁴He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

³⁴ او آنچه را که از نظر خداوند نیک بود، مانند پدرش عُزیا بجا می‌آورد.

³⁵However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.

³⁵ امّا پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌ها ویران نشدند و مردم به قربانی کردن و سوزاندن بُخور در آنجا ادامه دادند. او دروازهٔ فوقانی معبد بزرگ را ساخت.

³⁷In those days Yahweh began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

³⁷ در زمانی که او پادشاه بود، خداوند ابتدا رَصِین، پادشاه سوریه و فِقَح، پادشاه اسرائیل را فرستاد تا به یهودا حمله کنند. یوتام درگذشت و او را در آرامگاه سلطنتی در شهر داوود به خاک سپردند و پسرش آحاز جانشین او شد.

³⁸Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

³⁸ یوتام درگذشت و او را در آرامگاه سلطنتی در شهر داوود به خاک سپردند و پسرش آحاز جانشین او شد.
