¹In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

¹ در سال هفدهم سلطنت فِقَح پسر رملیا، آحاز پسر یوتام بر تخت سلطنت یهودا نشست.

²Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he didn’t do that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh his God, like David his father.

² او بیست ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدّت شانزده سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد. او برخلاف جدش، داوود پادشاه هر آنچه را که در نظر خداوند نیک بود، انجام نداد،

³But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yes, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations, whom Yahweh cast out from before the children of Israel.

³ و در راه پادشاهان اسرائیل گام برداشت. او پسر خود را به عنوان قربانی در برابر بت سوزاند و از رسوم نفرت‌انگیز اقوامی‌ که خداوند از پیش قوم اسرائیل بیرون رانده بود، تقلید نمود.

⁴He sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

⁴ او در پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌ها، و در زیر هر درخت سبزی قربانی کرد و بُخور سوزاند.

⁵Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

⁵ رصین، پادشاه سوریه و فِقَح، پادشاه اسرائیل به اورشلیم حمله و آن را محاصره کردند، امّا نتوانستند آحاز را شکست دهند.

⁶At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath, and lived there, to this day.

⁶ در آن زمان رصین، پادشاه سوریه شهر ایلت را پس گرفت و یهودیان را بیرون کرد و اَدومیان در آنجا جایگزین شدند و تا به امروز در آن ساکن هستند.

⁷So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.”

⁷ آحاز، قاصدانی نزد تِغلَت فلاسَر، امپراتور آشور با این پیام فرستاد: «من بنده و مانند پسر تو هستم. برای نجات من از دست پادشاه سوریه و اسرائیل به اینجا بیا، چون آنها به من حمله کرده‌اند.»

⁸Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of Yahweh, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.

⁸ آحاز همچنین نقره و طلایی را که در معبد بزرگ و در خزانهٔ کاخ پادشاه بود، برای امپراتور آشور هدیه فرستاد.

⁹The king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.

⁹ تغلت فلاسر، امپراتور آشور خواهش او را پذیرفت و به دمشق حمله کرد. آن را تصرّف نمود و مردم آنجا را اسیر کرد و به قیر برد و رصین را کشت.

¹⁰King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.

¹⁰ وقتی آحاز به ملاقات تغلت فلاسر، امپراتور آشور به دمشق رفت و قربانگاه آنجا را دید نقشهٔ ساختمان آن را با تمام جزئیاتش برای اوریای کاهن فرستاد.

¹¹Urijah the priest built an altar: according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so Urijah the priest made it for the coming of king Ahaz from Damascus.

¹¹ اوریای کاهن، قبل از بازگشت پادشاه از دمشق، قربانگاهی مطابق آنچه آحاز پادشاه از دمشق فرستاده بود، ساخت.

¹²When the king had come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king drew near to the altar, and offered on it.

¹² وقتی پادشاه بازگشت و قربانگاه را دید، رفت

¹³He burnt his burnt offering and his meal offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, on the altar.

¹³ و قربانی سوختنی و هدایای آردی تقدیم کرد. شراب و خون قربانی صلح را بر آن ریخت.

¹⁴The bronze altar, which was before Yahweh, he brought from the forefront of the house, from between his altar and the house of Yahweh, and put it on the north side of his altar.

¹⁴ قربانگاه برنزی را که وقف خداوند شده بود و در جلوی معبد بزرگ قرار داشت برداشت و در سمت شمال قربانگاه نو گذاشت.

¹⁵King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, “On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meal offering, and the king’s burnt offering, and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice; but the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.”

¹⁵ بعد پادشاه به اوریا امر کرد و گفت: «بر این قربانگاه بزرگ، قربانی سوختنی صبح، هدایای آردی شامگاهی، قربانی سوختنی و آردی پادشاه و قربانی مردم را باید تقدیم کنی و خون همهٔ قربانی‌ها را بر آن بریزی، امّا قربانگاه برنزی باید تنها برای استفادهٔ شخصی من، به منظور هدایت خواستن از خداوند باشد.»

¹⁶Urijah the priest did so, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

¹⁶ اوریای کاهن همهٔ کارها را مطابق فرمان آحاز پادشاه انجام داد.

¹⁷King Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the basin from off them, and took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stone.

¹⁷ سپس آحاز پادشاه پایه‌های چهارچوب آن را برید و تشتها را از بالای آن برداشت و همچنین حوض برنزی که بر دوازده گاو برنزی قرار داشت را پایین آورد و بر پایه سنگی گذاشت.

¹⁸The covered way for the Sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king’s entry outside, turned he to the house of Yahweh, because of the king of Assyria.

¹⁸ او سایه‌بانی را که برای سبت در معبد بزرگ ساخته بود، برداشت و راه ورودی پادشاه از خارج به معبد بزرگ را به‌خاطر امپراتور آشور بست.

¹⁹Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

¹⁹ بقیّهٔ وقایع دوران سلطنت آحاز و کارهای او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان یهودا ثبت شده است. آحاز درگذشت و با اجداد خود در شهر داوود به خاک سپرده شد و پسرش حزقیا جانشین او شد.

²⁰Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
