¹In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

¹ در زمان سلطنت یهویاقیم، نبوکدنصر پادشاه بابل یهودا را اشغال کرد و یهویاقیم مدّت سه سال خراجگزار او شد؛ سپس علیه او شورش کرد.

²Yahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

² مطابق کلام خداوند که توسط انبیا گفته شده بود، خداوند سپاهیان کلدانی، سوری، موآبی و عمونی را فرستاد تا یهودا را نابود کنند.

³Surely at the commandment of Yahweh came this on Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

³ درواقع این رویداد به فرمان خداوند، به‌خاطر گناهان و کارهایی که منسی انجام داده بود، بر یهودا واقع شد تا ایشان را از نظر خود دور کند.

⁴and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood: and Yahweh would not pardon.

⁴ همچنین به‌خاطر ریختن خون بی‌گناهانی که در اورشلیم جاری شد، خداوند او را نبخشید.

⁵Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

⁵ همهٔ کارهایی که یهویاقیم انجام داد، در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان یهودا نوشته شده است.

⁶So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers; and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

⁶ یهویاقیم درگذشت و پسرش جانشین او شد.

⁷The king of Egypt didn’t come again out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that pertained to the king of Egypt.

⁷ فرعون و ارتش او دیگر هرگز از مصر خارج نشدند، زیرا پادشاه بابل تمام سرزمینی را که به مصر تعلّق داشت، از رود فرات تا مرزهای شمالی مصر، تصرّف کرده بود.

⁸Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned in Jerusalem three months: and his mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

⁸ یهویاکین هجده ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدّت سه ماه در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد. نام مادرش نَحُوشطا دختر الناتان و از اهالی اورشلیم بود.

⁹He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that his father had done.

⁹ او نیز مانند پدرش آنچه را در نظر خداوند پلید بود، بجا آورد.

¹⁰At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

¹⁰ در دوران سلطنت او سپاه بابل به اورشلیم حمله کرد و آن را محاصره نمود.

¹¹Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city, while his servants were besieging it;

¹¹ در وقت محاصرهٔ شهر، نبوکدنصر خودش به اورشلیم آمد.

¹²and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.

¹² یهویاکین خود را همراه با مادر، پسران و مأموران و همچنین کارکنان کاخ شاهی، به نبوکدنصر تسلیم کرد. پادشاه بابل در سال هشتم سلطنت خود، او را اسیر کرد.

¹³He carried out there all the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

¹³ پادشاه بابل همهٔ دارایی خزانه‌های معبد بزرگ و کاخ شاهی را با خود برد. طبق پیشگویی که خداوند فرموده بود، همهٔ ظروف و وسایل طلایی معبد بزرگ را که سلیمان پادشاه اسرائیل ساخته بود، شکست.

¹⁴He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained, except the poorest sort of the people of the land.

¹⁴ نبوکدنصر تمام ساکنان اورشلیم را با جنگجویان، مأموران، صنعتگران و آهنگرانش که ده هزار نفر بودند، با خود برد و به غیراز فقیرترین مردمِ آنجا، کس دیگری باقی نماند.

¹⁵He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; and the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

¹⁵ او همچنین یهویاکین، مادر، زنها و مأموران او را با اشخاص برجستهٔ قوم، از اورشلیم به بابل به اسیری برد.

¹⁶All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

¹⁶ پادشاه بابل هفت هزار اسیر از مردان برجسته به بابل آورد؛ صنعتگران، آهنگران و هزار مرد نیرومند که برای خدمات نظامی آمادگی داشتند.

¹⁷The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king is his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

¹⁷ پادشاه بابل عموی یهویاکین، مَتَنیا را به جای او پادشاه کرد و نامش را به صدقیا تغییر داد.

¹⁸Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

¹⁸ صدقیا بیست و یک ساله بود که به سلطنت رسید و مدّت یازده سال در اورشلیم پادشاه بود. مادرش حموطل نام داشت. او دختر ارمیا و از اهالی لبنه بود.

¹⁹He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

¹⁹ او مانند یهویاکین کارهایی را که در نظر خداوند پلید بود، انجام داد. خداوند چنان از مردم اورشلیم و یهودا خشمگین شد که ایشان را از نظر خود دور کرد. صدقیا علیه پادشاه بابل قیام کرد.

²⁰For through the anger of Yahweh, it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

²⁰ خداوند چنان از مردم اورشلیم و یهودا خشمگین شد که ایشان را از نظر خود دور کرد. صدقیا علیه پادشاه بابل قیام کرد.
