¹It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it around it.

¹ نبوکدنصر پادشاه بابل با تمامی لشکر خود در روز دهم ماه دهم سال نهم سلطنت صدقیا، به اورشلیم حمله و آن را محاصره کرد و گرداگرد آن سنگر ساخت.

²So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

² شهر تا سال یازدهم صدقیای پادشاه در محاصره بود.

³On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

³ در روز نهم ماه چهارم آن سال، در شهر قحطی چنان سخت شد که مردم چیزی برای خوردن نداشتند.

⁴Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden (now the Chaldeans were against the city around it); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.

⁴ دیوارهای شهر را سوراخ کردند و با وجودی که سربازان بابلی شهر را محاصره کرده بودند، پادشاه یهودا با تمام سربازانش در شب گریختند. ایشان از راه باغ سلطنتی، از مسیری که دو دیوار را به هم وصل می‌کرد، به سوی دشت اردن گریختند.

⁵But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

⁵ امّا ارتش بابل، پادشاه را دنبال نمود و او را در نزدیکی دشت اریحا دستگیر کرد و سپاهیانش پراکنده شدند.

⁶Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment on him.

⁶ صدقیا را نزد پادشاه بابل، به شهر ربله بردند و او را در آنجا محاکمه کردند.

⁷They killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

⁷ آنها پسران صدقیا را در جلوی چشمان صدقیا کشتند و چشمان او را از کاسه در آوردند و او را به زنجیر کشیده، به بابل بردند.

⁸Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, to Jerusalem.

⁸ در روز هفتم ماه پنجم از سال نوزدهم سلطنت نبوکدنصر پادشاه، نبوزرادان، مشاور و فرمانده نظامی ارتش پادشاه وارد اورشلیم شد.

⁹He burnt the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burnt he with fire.

⁹ او معبد بزرگ را سوزاند و کاخ پادشاه و همهٔ خانه‌های بزرگ اورشلیم را نیز سوزاند.

¹⁰All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down the walls around Jerusalem.

¹⁰ و سربازان او دیوارهای شهر را ویران کردند.

¹¹Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.

¹¹ نَبوزرادان، فرمانده ارتش، بقیّهٔ مردمی را که در شهر بودند و کسانی‌که به پادشاه بابل پناهنده شده بودند، با خود به تبعید برد.

¹²But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to work the vineyards and fields.

¹² امّا او فقیرترین مردمی را که زمینی نداشتند، برای کارکردن در تاکستانها و کشتزارها باقی گذاشت.

¹³The Chaldeans broke up the pillars of brass that were in the house of Yahweh and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the house of Yahweh, and carried the brass pieces to Babylon.

¹³ بابلی‌ها ستونهای برنزی، پایه‌ها و حوض برنزی را که در معبد بزرگ بودند، تکه‌تکه کردند و با خود به بابل بردند.

¹⁴They took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered.

¹⁴ آنها همچنین بیلها، خاک‌اندازها، قربانگاهها، وسایل مربوط به چراغهای معبد بزرگ، کاسه‌هایی که برای جمع‌آوری خون قربانی‌ها استفاده می‌شد، کاسه‌هایی که برای سوزاندن بُخور استفاده می‌شد و همهٔ وسایل برنزی را که در معبد بزرگ استفاده می‌شد، با خود بردند.

¹⁵The captain of the guard took away the fire pans, the basins, that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver.

¹⁵ هرآنچه را که از طلا و نقره ساخته شده بود بردند، به علاوهٔ کاسه‌های کوچک و آتشدانهای کوچکی که برای حمل زغال گداخته استفاده می‌کردند.

¹⁶The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases, which Solomon had made for the house of Yahweh, the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

¹⁶ وسایل برنزی که سلیمان پادشاه برای معبد بزرگ ساخته بود، دو ستون، میزهای چرخدار و حوض بزرگ بسیار سنگین بودند که قابل وزن کردن نبودند.

¹⁷The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a capital of brass was on it; and the height of the capital was three cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital around it, all of brass: and like to these had the second pillar with network.

¹⁷ دو ستون همانند یکدیگر بودند و هرکدام تقریباً هشت متر و سرستونهای آن یک متر و نیم بودند. دور تا دور سر ستونها انارهای برنزی بود که به وسیلهٔ زنجیرهای بافته شده به یکدیگر وصل بودند.

¹⁸The captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:

¹⁸ نبوزرادان فرماندهٔ نظامی، کاهن اعظم سرایا و کاهن دوم صَفَنیا و سه نفر از محافظین معبد بزرگ را نیز دستگیر کرد.

¹⁹and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and five men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe, the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the city.

¹⁹ از افرادی که هنوز در شهر باقی مانده بودند، او فرماندهٔ نظامی را با پنج نفر از مشاورین پادشاه و معاون فرماندهٔ نظامی که مسئول بایگانی ارتش بود و شصت نفر از افراد مهم شهر را دستگیر کرد.

²⁰Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

²⁰ نبوزرادان ایشان را به شهر ربله، نزد پادشاه بابل برد.

²¹The king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

²¹ در سرزمین حمات پادشاه دستور داد، ایشان را بزنند و سپس بکشند. به این‌گونه مردم یهودا را از سرزمین خود به تبعید بردند.

²²As for the people who were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, governor.

²² پادشاه بابل، جدلیا پسر اخیقام، نوهٔ شافان را بر مردمی که باقی گذاشته بود و در سرزمین یهودا باقی مانده بودند، به عنوان فرماندار گماشت.

²³Now when all the captains of the forces, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

²³ وقتی‌که افسران و سربازانی که تسلیم نشده بودند این خبر را شنیدند، نزد جدلیا در مصفه آمدند. ایشان عبارت بودند از: اسماعیل پسر نتنیا، یوحانان پسر قاریح، سرایا پسر تنحومتِ نطوفاتی و یازنیا پسر معکاتی.

²⁴Gedaliah swore to them and to their men, and said to them, “Don’t be afraid because of the servants of the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.”

²⁴ جدلیا برای ایشان سوگند یاد کرد و گفت: «از مأموران بابلی نترسید در همین سرزمین ساکن شوید و از پادشاه بابل اطاعت کنید و برای شما نیکو خواهد بود.»

²⁵But it happened in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal seed came, and ten men with him, and struck Gedaliah, so that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.

²⁵ امّا در ماه هفتم آن سال، اسماعیل پسر نتنیا نوهٔ الیشمع که عضو خاندان سلطنتی بود، با ده نفر از همراهان خود به مصفه رفت و به جدلیا حمله کرد و او را با یهودیانی که با او بودند، به قتل رساند.

²⁶All the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces, arose, and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.

²⁶ آنگاه همهٔ مردم از فقیر تا غنی و افسران ارتش، از ترس برخاستند و به مصر مهاجرت کردند.

²⁷It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;

²⁷ در سال سی و هفتم تبعید یهویاکین پادشاه یهودا، در روز بیست و هفتم ماه دوازدهم، اویل مَرُدَک پادشاه بابل شد. او یهویاکین را از زندان آزاد نمود.

²⁸and he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

²⁸ با مهربانی با او رفتار کرد و به او مقامی بالاتر از همهٔ کسانی‌که در دربارش بودند داد.

²⁹and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:

²⁹ پس یهویاکین لباس زندان را از تن بیرون کرد و در باقی روزهای زندگیش را بر سر سفرهٔ پادشاه غذا می‌خورد و هزینهٔ زندگی روزانهٔ او توسط پادشاه تا زمانی که زنده بود، پرداخت می‌شد.

³⁰and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him of the king, every day a portion, all the days of his life.

³⁰ و هزینهٔ زندگی روزانهٔ او توسط پادشاه تا زمانی که زنده بود، پرداخت می‌شد.
