¹Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

¹ در این هنگام الیشع نبی، یکی از انبیای جوان را خواند و به او گفت: «آماده شو که به راموت جلعاد بروی، این کوزهٔ روغن زیتون را با خود ببر.

²When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.

² چون به آنجا رسیدی ییهو پسر یهوشافاط، پسر نمشی را پیدا کن، او را به اتاق خلوتی دور از همراهانش ببر.

³Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

³ آنگاه کوزهٔ روغن را روی سرش بریز و به او بگو خداوند می‌فرماید: 'تو را به پادشاهی اسرائیل مسح می‌کنم.' سپس با سرعت هرچه تمام آنجا را ترک کن.»

⁴So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.

⁴ پس نبی جوان به راموت جلعاد رفت.

⁵When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

⁵ هنگامی‌که به آنجا رسید افسران ارتش گرد هم نشسته بودند. او گفت: «ای فرمانده، من برای شما پیامی دارم.» ییهو گفت: «برای کدام‌یک از ما؟» او پاسخ داد: «برای شما، ای فرمانده.»

⁶He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

⁶ پس او برخاست و به داخل خانه رفت و نبی جوان روغن را بر سرش ریخت و گفت: «خداوند خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: 'من تو را به پادشاهی قوم خدا در اسرائیل مسح می‌کنم.

⁷You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.

⁷ تو باید خاندان سرور خود، اخاب را نابود کنی تا من انتقام خون انبیای خدمتگزار خود و خون همهٔ خدمتگزاران خدا را از ایزابل بگیرم.

⁸For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

⁸ تمام خانوادهٔ اخاب هلاک می‌شوند و مرد، زن، برده و آزادشان را نابود می‌کنم.

⁹I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

⁹ خاندان اخاب را به سرنوشت خانوادهٔ یربعام پسر نباط و خاندان بعشا پسر اخیا گرفتار می‌سازم.

¹⁰The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.

¹⁰ سگها ایزابل را در زمین یزرعیل خواهند خورد و او دفن نخواهد شد.'» آنگاه نبی جوان در را باز کرد و گریخت.

¹¹Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”

¹¹ هنگامی‌که ییهو نزد افسران همراه خود بازگشت از وی پرسیدند: «آیا همه‌چیز خوب است؟ آن مرد دیوانه از تو چه می‌خواست؟» ییهو پاسخ داد: «شما می‌دانید او چه می‌خواست.»

¹²They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

¹² ایشان پاسخ دادند: «نه، ما نمی‌دانیم. به ما بگو او چه گفت.» او به من گفت: «خداوند مرا به پادشاهی اسرائیل مسح کرده است.»

¹³Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

¹³ آنها با عجله ردای خود را در آوردند و روی پلّه‌ها پهن کردند و شیپور نواختند و با فریاد گفتند: «ییهو پادشاه است.»

¹⁴So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;

¹⁴ پس ییهو پسر یهوشافاط، نوهٔ نمشی علیه یورام دسیسه چید. یورام و همهٔ مردم اسرائیل با حزائیل، پادشاه سوریه در یزرعیل در حال جنگ بودند.

¹⁵but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”

¹⁵ امّا یورام پادشاه به یزرعیل بازگشت تا زخمهایی که سوری‌ها در جنگ با حزائیل پادشاه سوریه به او زده بودند، بهبود یابد. پس ییهو به افسرانش گفت: «اگر با من هستید، نگذارید کسی از شهر خارج شود و به یزرعیل خبر برساند.»

¹⁶So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

¹⁶ پس او بر ارابهٔ خود سوار شد و به سوی یزرعیل رفت. یورام هنوز بهبود نیافته بود و اخزیا پادشاه یهودا، به آنجا برای دیدن یورام آمده بود.

¹⁷Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

¹⁷ دیدبانی که بر بُرجی دیده‌بانی در یزرعیل ایستاده بود، ییهو و مردانش را دید که نزدیک می‌شوند. پس با صدای بلند گفت: «من سوارانی را می‌بینم که می‌آیند.» یورام پاسخ داد: «سواری را بفرست تا بپرسد که دوست هستند یا دشمن.»

¹⁸So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

¹⁸ سوار بیرون رفت و به ییهو گفت: «پادشاه می‌خواهد بداند که آیا شما مانند دوست آمده‌اید؟» ییهو پاسخ داد: «به تو مربوط نیست، به دنبال من بیا.» دیده‌بان از روی بُرج گزارش داد که قاصد به آن گروه رسید ولی بازنگشت.

¹⁹Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”

¹⁹ قاصد دیگری فرستاده شد و از ییهو همان سؤال را پرسید. دوباره ییهو پاسخ داد: «به تو مربوط نیست، دنبال من بیا.»

²⁰The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”

²⁰ دیده‌بان دوباره گزارش داد که «قاصد نزد آنها رسید امّا بازنمی‌گردد» و اضافه کرد: «فرماندهٔ گروه ارّابه‌اش را مانند ییهو، دیوانه‌وار می‌راند.»

²¹Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

²¹ یورام پادشاه دستور داد: «ارابهٔ مرا آماده کنید.» سپس او و اخزیا پادشاه یهودا هریک بر ارّابه‌های خود سوار شدند و به دیدار ییهو رفتند. ایشان در کشتزار نابوتِ یزرعیلی به ییهو رسیدند.

²²It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

²² هنگامی‌که یورام او را دید، پرسید: «ای ییهو آیا از در صلح آمده‌ای؟» او پاسخ داد: «تا هنگامی‌که جادوگری و بت‌پرستی مادرت ایزابل ادامه داشته باشد، چگونه می‌توان در صلح بود؟»

²³Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”

²³ یورام با فریاد به اخزیا گفت: «خیانت اخزیا!» و ارابهٔ خود را بازگرداند و گریخت.

²⁴Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

²⁴ ییهو کمان خود را با تمام نیرو کشید و تیری پرتاب کرد که از پشت در میان کتف‌های یورام فرو رفت و قلب او را شکافت. یورام در ارابهٔ خود افتاد و جان سپرد.

²⁵Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:

²⁵ ییهو به دستیار خود بدقَر گفت: «او را بردار و در کشتزار نابوت یزرعیلی بینداز. به‌یاد بیاور هنگامی‌که ما دوش به دوش در عقب اخاب پدر او سواره می‌آمدیم خداوند علیه او چنین گفت:

²⁶‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”

²⁶ 'من دیروز ریخته شدن خون نابوت و پسرانش را دیدم و قول می‌دهم تو را در اینجا در همین کشتزار مجازات کنم.' پس اکنون جسد او را بردار و مطابق کلام خداوند در آن زمین بینداز.»

²⁷But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.

²⁷ هنگامی‌که اخزیا، پادشاه یهودا چنین دید، به سوی شهر بیت‌هگان گریخت. ییهو او را دنبال کرد و فریاد زد: «او را بکشید.» و ایشان او را در ارّابه‌اش بر بلندیهای جور در نزدیکی شهر یَبَلعام زخمی کردند. او به شهر مجدو گریخت و در آنجا جان سپرد.

²⁸His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.

²⁸ افرادش او را در ارّابه‌اش به اورشلیم بردند و او را در گور خودش در شهر داوود با نیاکانش به خاک سپردند.

²⁹In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

²⁹ اخزیا در یازدهمین سال سلطنت یورام، پسر اخاب، پادشاهی خود را بر یهودا آغاز کرد.

³⁰When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.

³⁰ هنگامی که ییهو به یزرعیل آمد، ایزابل باخبر شد و چشمها و موی خود را آرایش کرد و از پنجره بیرون را نگاه می‌کرد.

³¹As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”

³¹ زمانی که ییهو از دروازه وارد می‌شد، ایزابل گفت: «ای قاتل سرورت، ای زمری، آیا همه‌چیز خوب است؟»

³²He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

³² ییهو سر خود را به سوی پنجره بلند کرد و فریاد زد: «چه کسی طرفدار من است؟ چه کسی؟» دو سه نفر از خواجگان به او نگاه کردند.

³³He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.

³³ ییهو گفت: «او را پایین بیندازید.» پس او را پایین انداختند و خونش به روی دیوار و اسبان پاشیده شد و ییهو با اسبها و ارّابه‌اش بدن او را لگدکوب کردند.

³⁴When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”

³⁴ آنگاه او وارد شد و خورد و نوشید و گفت: «اکنون این زن لعنتی را ببرید و او را به خاک بسپارید، زیرا او دختر پادشاه است.»

³⁵They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

³⁵ امّا هنگامی‌که بیرون رفتند تا او را دفن کنند، فقط کاسهٔ سر و استخوانهای دست و پای او را یافتند.

³⁶Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,

³⁶ هنگامی‌که بازگشتند و خبر دادند، ییهو گفت: «این کلام خداوند است که توسط خدمتگزار خود ایلیای تشبی پیشگویی کرده بود که جسد ایزابل را در زمین یزرعیل سگها خواهند خورد و جسدش مانند سرگین در کشتزارهای زمین یزرعیل پراکنده خواهد شد تا کسی نتواند بگوید که این ایزابل است.»

³⁷and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”

³⁷ و جسدش مانند سرگین در کشتزارهای زمین یزرعیل پراکنده خواهد شد تا کسی نتواند بگوید که این ایزابل است.»
