¹Therefore you shall love Yahweh your God, and keep his instructions, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments, always.

¹ «خداوند خدایتان را دوست بدارید. اوامر، دستورات و قوانین او را همیشه بجا آورید.

²Know this day: for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Yahweh your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,

² به‌یاد داشته باشید که شما از روی تجربه‌تان معلوماتی در مورد خداوند حاصل کردید و این شما بودید نه فرزندانتان، که از طرف خداوند تأدیب شدید و عظمت، قدرت، هیبت

³and his signs, and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;

³ و معجزات او را مشاهده نمودید و دیدید که با فرعون و تمام مردم سرزمین او چه کرد.

⁴and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how Yahweh has destroyed them to this day;

⁴ شما مشاهده کردید که خداوند با ارتش مصر با اسبها و ارّابه‌های ایشان چه کرد و چگونه خداوند آب دریای سرخ را هنگامی‌که آنها در تعقیب شما بودند بر سرشان ریخت و چگونه خداوند آنها را تا به امروز نابود کرد.

⁵and what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came to this place;

⁵ شما می‌دانید خداوند در بیابان برای شما چه کرد، قبل از اینکه شما به اینجا بیایید.

⁶and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midst of all Israel:

⁶ وقتی داتان و ابیرام، پسران الیاب، از طایفه رئوبین مرتکب گناه شدند، زمین دهان باز کرد و در برابر چشمان تمام مردم اسرائیل آنها را با خانواده، چادرها و مال و دارایی‌شان در خود فرو برد.

⁷but your eyes have seen all the great work of Yahweh which he did.

⁷ شما با چشمان خود کارهای عظیم خداوند را دیده‌اید.

⁸Therefore you shall keep all the commandment which I command you this day, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land, where you go over to possess it;

⁸ «پس همهٔ این احکامی را که امروز به شما می‌دهم، بجا آورید تا قدرت آن را داشته باشید که سرزمینی را که اکنون وارد آن می‌شوید، تصرّف کنید.

⁹and that you may prolong your days in the land, which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

⁹ تا در سرزمینی که خداوند به نیاکان شما وعده داده بود؛ به ایشان و فرزندانشان بدهد عمر طولانی داشته باشید، سرزمینی که غنی و حاصلخیز است.

¹⁰For the land, where you go in to possess it, isn’t as the land of Egypt, that you came out from, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;

¹⁰ این سرزمینی که شما بزودی وارد آن می‌شوید، مثل زمین مصر که از آنجا آمده‌اید نیست که در آن تخم می‌کاشتید و با سختی آبیاری می‌کردید.

¹¹but the land, where you go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water of the rain of the sky,

¹¹ بلکه این سرزمین از کوهها و دشتهایی تشکیل شده است که با آبِ باران سیراب می‌شود

¹²a land which Yahweh your God cares for: the eyes of Yahweh your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.

¹² و خداوند خدایتان آن را پرورش می‌دهد و چشمان او همیشه و تمام سال متوجّه آن می‌باشد.

¹³It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you this day, to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹³ «اگر شما تمام احکامی را که امروز به شما می‌دهم بجا آورید، خداوند خدایتان را دوست بدارید و با تمام قلب و جان او را خدمت کنید،

¹⁴that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, and your new wine, and your oil.

¹⁴ آنگاه باران را به زمینتان در بهار و پاییز می‌فرستد تا غلّه، شراب و روغن فراوان داشته باشید.

¹⁵I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.

¹⁵ چراگاهها را برای چریدن گلّه‌هایتان سبز و خرّم می‌سازد و برای خودتان هم غذای کافی می‌دهد که بخورید و سیر شوید.

¹⁶Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

¹⁶ احتیاط کنید مبادا فریب بخورید و از خداوند روی برگردانید و پیرو خدایان غیر شوید و آنها را بپرستید.

¹⁷and the anger of Yahweh be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky, so that there shall be no rain, and the land shall not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Yahweh gives you.

¹⁷ خشم خداوند علیه شما برافروخته خواهد شد و او درِ آسمان را خواهد بست و بارانی نخواهد بود و زمین محصولی نخواهد داد و شما بزودی در زمین خوبی که خداوند به شما داده است، نابود می‌شوید.

¹⁸Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes.

¹⁸ «پس این سخنان را در دل و جان خود جای دهید و آن را مانند نشانه‌ای بر دست و پیشانی خود، به عنوان یادآوری ببندید

¹⁹You shall teach them your children, talking of them, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

¹⁹ و به فرزندان خود تعلیم بدهید. همیشه دربارهٔ آنها صحبت کنید؛ خواه در خانه باشید، خواه در بیرون، خواه در بستر باشید، خواه بیدار.

²⁰You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates;

²⁰ آنها را بر دو طرف چهارچوب خانه‌ها و دروازه‌هایتان بنویسید.

²¹that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.

²¹ آنگاه تا آسمان و زمین باقی است، شما و فرزندان شما در سرزمینی که خداوند به نیاکان شما وعده داده است، زندگی طولانی خواهید داشت.

²²For if you shall diligently keep all this commandment which I command you, to do it, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cling to him;

²² «همهٔ این احکام را که به شما می‌دهم، به دقّت بجا آورید: خداوند خدایتان را دوست بدارید، فرامین او را بجا آورید و نسبت به او وفادار بمانید.

²³then will Yahweh drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.

²³ آنگاه خداوند همهٔ این اقوام را که بزرگتر و قویتر از شما هستند از سر راهتان بیرون می‌راند تا شما سرزمین‌های آنها را تصرّف کنید.

²⁴Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the hinder sea shall be your border.

²⁴ هر جایی که کف پای شما بر آن گذارده شود از آن شما خواهد بود. قلمروتان از طرف جنوب تا بیابان، از طرف شمال تا لبنان، از طرف شرق تا رودخانهٔ فرات و از طرف غرب تا دریای مدیترانه وسعت خواهد داشت.

²⁵No man shall be able to stand before you: Yahweh your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you shall tread on, as he has spoken to you.

²⁵ هیچ‌کس نمی‌تواند در برابر شما مقاومت کند، چون خداوند خدایتان همان‌طور که قول داده است، هر کجا که بروید، ترس شما را در دل مردمی که با آنها روبه‌رو می‌شوید، خواهد گذاشت.

²⁶Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

²⁶ «من امروز به شما حق انتخاب می‌دهم که بین برکت و لعنت یکی را انتخاب کنید.

²⁷the blessing, if you shall listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I command you this day;

²⁷ اگر از احکام خداوند خدایتان که امروز به شما می‌دهم اطاعت کنید، برکت می‌بینید؛

²⁸and the curse, if you shall not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known.

²⁸ امّا اگر از فرمانهای خداوند خدایتان پیروی نکنید و از راهی که امروز به شما فرمان دادم خارج شوید و به دنبال خدایان دیگری که نمی‌شناختید بروید، لعنت خواهید شد.

²⁹It shall happen, when Yahweh your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.

²⁹ وقتی خداوند خدایتان شما را به آن سرزمینی که تصاحب می‌کنید، برساند برکت را بر کوه جرزیم و لعنت را بر کوه عیبال اعلام کنید.

³⁰Aren’t they beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah, over against Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?

³⁰ همان‌طور که می‌دانید، اینها دو کوهی هستند در غرب رود اردن، یعنی در سرزمین کنعانیانی که در دشت اردن، در مقابل جلجال زندگی می‌کنند. بلوط موره هم در آنجا واقع است.

³¹For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell therein.

³¹ وقتی از رود اردن عبور کنید و به سرزمینی که خداوند خدایتان به شما می‌دهد رسیدید و در آنجا سکونت اختیار کردید، باید از تک‌تک احکامی که امروز به شما می‌دهم از دل و جان اطاعت نمایید.

³²You shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you this day.

³² باید از تک‌تک احکامی که امروز به شما می‌دهم از دل و جان اطاعت نمایید.
