¹When a man takes a wife, and marries her, then it shall be, if she find no favor in his eyes, because he has found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorce, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

¹ «ممکن است مردی با زنی ازدواج کند و بعداً تصمیم بگیرد که او را نمی‌خواهد، زیرا او در زن چیزی دیده است که دوست ندارد و برای او طلاق نامه‌ای بنویسد و به زن بدهد و او را از خانه روانه بکند.

²When she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife.

² آنگاه اگر آن زن با مرد دیگری ازدواج کند

³If the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorce, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, who took her to be his wife;

³ و شوهر دوم نیز او را نخواهد و برای او طلاق نامه بنویسد و به او بدهد و او را از خانه بیرون کند، یا شوهر دوم بمیرد.

⁴her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before Yahweh: and you shall not cause the land to sin, which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance.

⁴ در هر صورت شوهر اولش نباید دوباره با او ازدواج کند، زیرا این کار در نظر خداوند زشت است. شما نباید مرتکب چنین گناه پلیدی در سرزمینی که خداوند به شما داده است، بشوید.

⁵When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business: he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.

⁵ «مردی که تازه ازدواج کرده است، نباید به خدمت سربازی برود، یا وظایف دیگر اجتماعی به عهدهٔ او گذاشته شود. او باید برای مدّت یک سال معاف باشد تا در خانه بماند و همسرش را خوشحال کند.

⁶No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge; for he takes a life in pledge.

⁶ «هیچ‌کسی نباید آسیا یا سنگ آسیای کسی را گرو بگیرد، زیرا آن چیز وسیلهٔ امرار معاش صاحبش می‌باشد.

⁷If a man be found stealing any of his brothers of the children of Israel, and he deal with him as a slave, or sell him; then that thief shall die: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

⁷ «اگر کسی یک نفر اسرائیلی را بدزدد و با او مثل برده رفتار کند و یا او را بفروشد، آن شخص دزد باید کشته شود تا شرارت از بین شما پاک گردد.

⁸Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that you observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so you shall observe to do.

⁸ «اگر کسی به مرض برص مبتلا شود، باید به دقّت به آنچه که کاهنان می‌گویند عمل کند، چون آنها احکامی را که من داده‌ام، بجا می‌آورند.

⁹Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam, by the way as you came forth out of Egypt.

⁹ به‌خاطر داشته باشید که وقتی از مصر خارج می‌شدید خداوند با مریم چه کرد.

¹⁰When you do lend your neighbor any kind of loan, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge.

¹⁰ «وقتی شما به کسی قرض می‌دهید، نباید برای گرفتن بالاپوش او به عنوان گرو به خانه‌اش داخل شوید.

¹¹You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you do lend shall bring forth the pledge outside to you.

¹¹ شما باید در بیرون خانه منتظر باشید تا صاحب خانه، خودش آن را برای شما بیاورد.

¹²If he be a poor man, you shall not sleep with his pledge;

¹² اگر او مرد تنگدستی است، شما نباید در بالاپوش او بخوابید.

¹³you shall surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless you: and it shall be righteousness to you before Yahweh your God.

¹³ هنگام غروب شما باید بالاپوش را به او بازگردانید تا در آن بخوابد و شما را برکت دهد تا خداوند خدایتان از شما راضی باشد.

¹⁴You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he be of your brothers, or of your foreigners who are in your land within your gates:

¹⁴ «بر مزدور و کارگر تنگدست و نیازمندی که برای شما کار می‌کند، چه اسرائیلی باشد چه بیگانه، ظلم نکنید.

¹⁵in his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor, and sets his heart on it: lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you.

¹⁵ هر روز قبل از غروب آفتاب مزد او را پرداخت کنید. او به آن مزد نیاز دارد و روی آن حساب می‌کند. اگر به او نپردازید، او علیه شما در حضور خداوند، زاری خواهد کرد و شما گناهکار خواهید بود.

¹⁶The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

¹⁶ «والدین نباید به سبب گناه فرزندان خود کشته شوند. همچنین فرزندان نیز نباید به‌خاطر گناه والدین‌شان محکوم گردند. هرکسی باید به سبب گناه خودش کشته شود.

¹⁷You shall not deprive the foreigner, or the fatherless of justice, nor take a widow’s clothing in pledge;

¹⁷ «غریبان و یتیمان را از حقوق ایشان محروم نکنید و لباس بیوه زنان را در مقابل قرضی که می‌دهید، گرو نگیرید.

¹⁸but you shall remember that you were a bondservant in Egypt, and Yahweh your God redeemed you there: therefore I command you to do this thing.

¹⁸ به‌خاطر داشته باشید که شما هم در سرزمین مصر برده بودید و خداوند خدایتان شما را آزاد کرد. به همین خاطر است که من به شما چنین فرمان می‌دهم.

¹⁹When you reap your harvest in your field, and have forgot a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to get it: it shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

¹⁹ «اگر در وقت دروی محصول فراموش کنید که دسته‌ای از محصول را از مزرعه ببرید، برای بردن آن برنگردید. آن را برای غریبان و یتیمان و بیوه زنان بگذارید تا خداوند خدایتان در همهٔ کارها به شما برکت بدهد.

²⁰When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

²⁰ وقتی محصول زیتونتان را از درخت می‌تکانید، چیزی را که باقی می‌ماند نتکانید، بلکه آن را برای استفادهٔ غریبان و یتیمان و بیوه زنان بگذارید.

²¹When you harvest your vineyard, you shall not glean it after yourselves: it shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

²¹ وقتی انگور را یک‌بار از تاک چیدید، بار دوم برای چیدن آن نروید، بلکه باقیمانده را بگذارید که غریبان و یتیمان و بیوه زنان از آن استفاده کنند. به‌خاطر داشته باشید که در سرزمین مصر برده بودید. به همین دلیل است که به شما این فرمان را می‌دهم.

²²You shall remember that you were a bondservant in the land of Egypt: therefore I command you to do this thing.
