¹Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

¹ «بعد از آن به طرف باشان حرکت کردیم. پادشاه باشان با تمام لشکر خود برای مقابله ما به ادرعی آمد.

²Yahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

² خداوند به من فرمود: 'از او نترس، زیرا من او را همراه با تمام مردم و سرزمینش به تو سپرده‌ام. با او همان رفتار را بکن که با سیحون، پادشاه اموریان در حشبون کردی.'

³So Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we struck him until none was left to him remaining.

³ «به این ترتیب خداوند خدای ما، عوج پادشاه باشان را هم با تمام مردم او به دست ما تسلیم کرد و ما همه را کشتیم و حتّی یک نفر را هم زنده نگذاشتیم.

⁴We took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

⁴ هر شصت شهر، یعنی تمام نواحی ارجوب سرزمین باشان و تمام قلعه‌های نظامی آنها را تصرّف کردیم.

⁵All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many.

⁵ این شهرهای مستحکم با دیوارهای بلند و دروازه‌های پشت‌بنددار و همچنین چندین روستای بدون دیوار نیز به تصرّف ما درآمدند.

⁶We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

⁶ همه را مثل سرزمین باشان بکلّی نابود ساختیم و تمام مردان و زنان و کودكان را هلاک کردیم.

⁷But all the livestock, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

⁷ امّا گلّه‌ها و غنایمی را که به دست آوردیم برای خود نگه داشتیم.

⁸We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon.

⁸ «به این ترتیب ما تمام سرزمین دو پادشاه اموری را که در شرق رود اردن بود، یعنی از ناحیه وادی ارنون تا کوه حرمون تصرّف کردیم.

⁹(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.)

⁹ (مردم صیدون کوه حرمون را سریون و اموریان آن را سنیر می‌گفتند.)

¹⁰We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

¹⁰ ما تمام شهرهایی را که در آن جلگه واقع بودند همراه با سرزمین جلعاد و باشان تا سلخه و ادرعی به دست آوردیم.»

¹¹(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; isn’t it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.)

¹¹ (عوج، آخرین پادشاه رفائیان بود تابوت او که از سنگ ساخته شده بود حدود چهار متر طول و دو متر عرض دارد. این تابوت هم‌اکنون نیز در شهر امونات در سرزمین ربّاه می‌باشد.)

¹²This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites:

¹² «بعد از آن که این سرزمین را تصاحب کردیم، آن را از عروعیر که در کنار وادی ارنون است با نصف کوهستان جلعاد و شهرهای آن به طایفه‌‌های رئوبین و جاد دادم.

¹³and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim.

¹³ بقیّهٔ جلعاد و تمام سرزمین باشان را که عوج در آن سلطنت می‌کرد به نصف طایفهٔ منسی دادم.» (ناحیهٔ ارجوب در باشان را سرزمین رفائیان هم می‌نامند.

¹⁴Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)

¹⁴ خانوادهٔ یائیر از طایفهٔ منسی سراسر ناحیه ارجوب را تا حدود جشوریان و معکیان تصرّف کردند و آنجا را به نام خود، یعنی حَوُوت یائیر نامیدند که تا به امروز به همین نام خوانده می‌شود.)

¹⁵I gave Gilead to Machir.

¹⁵ «به خاندان ماخیر، جلعاد را دادم.

¹⁶To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

¹⁶ طایفه‌های رئوبین و جاد، منطقه‌ای را که از وادی یبوق در جلعاد (سرحد عمونیان) شروع می‌شد و تا وسط وادی ارنون وسعت داشت، اشغال کردند.

¹⁷the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

¹⁷ سرزمین ایشان از غرب تا رود اردن، از دریاچه جلیل تا شمال، از دریای مُرده تا جنوب و در شرق تا کوه فسجه ادامه داشت.

¹⁸I commanded you at that time, saying, “Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor.

¹⁸ «من به شما گفتم خداوند خدای شما، این سرزمین را به شما داده است. پس تمام مردان مسلّح شما باید پیشاپیش قوم بروند و آنها را به آن طرف رود اردن برسانند.

¹⁹But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,

¹⁹ امّا زنان، کودکان و گلّه‌ها را که می‌دانم تعداد آنها بسیار زیاد است، باید در همین شهرهایی که خدا به شما داده است، بمانند.

²⁰until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan: then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.”

²⁰ خویشاوندان اسرائیلی خود را کمک کنید تا بتوانند سرزمینی را که خداوند در غرب اردن به آنها داده است، اشغال کنند. آنگاه شما می‌توانید به سرزمینی که به شما داده‌ام بازگردید.

²¹I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings: so shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over.

²¹ «سپس به یوشع دستور داده گفتم: 'تو با چشمان خود دیدی که خداوند خدایت با آن دو پادشاه چه کرد. او با تمام ممالک آن طرف رود اردن هم، همین کار را می‌کند.

²²You shall not fear them; for Yahweh your God, he it is who fights for you.”

²² از مردم آنجا نترسید، زیرا خداوند خدایتان برای شما می‌جنگد.'

²³I begged Yahweh at that time, saying,

²³ «آنگاه من به حضور خداوند التماس کرده گفتم:

²⁴ “Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand: for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your mighty acts?

²⁴ 'خداوندا، تو عظمت و قدرت دست خود را به این بندهٔ خود نشان دادی. هیچ خدایی در آسمان و زمین نمی‌تواند آنچه را که تو در حق ما کردی، بکند.

²⁵Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.”

²⁵ حالا از تو تمنّا می‌کنم که به من اجازه بدهی تا به آن سوی رود اردن بروم و آن سرزمین حاصلخیز و کوهستان‌های مرغوب و لبنان را ببینم.'

²⁶But Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t listen to me; and Yahweh said to me, “Let it suffice you; speak no more to me of this matter.

²⁶ «امّا خداوند به‌خاطر شما از من خشمگین بود و به تقاضای من گوش نداد و به من فرمود: 'همین برای تو کافی است. دیگر در این بارهٔ حرفی نزن.

²⁷Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes: for you shall not go over this Jordan.

²⁷ به بالای کوه فسجه برو و از آنجا به سمت مغرب، شمال، جنوب و مشرق نظر بینداز. آن سرزمین را از دور خواهی دید، امّا از رود اردن هرگز عبور نخواهی کرد.

²⁸But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”

²⁸ ولی یوشع را به جانشینی خود بگمار و او را تقویت و تشویق کن، زیرا او قوم اسرائیل را به آن طرف رود اردن هدایت خواهد کرد و آن سرزمین را که تو از بالای کوه مشاهده می‌کنی تسخیر خواهد کرد.' «بنابراین ما در درّهٔ مقابل بیت فغور ماندیم.»

²⁹So we stayed in the valley over against Beth Peor.
