¹Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

¹ خداوند در مصر به موسی و هارون فرمود:

²“This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

² «این ماه برای شما ماه اول سال باشد.

³Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household;

³ به تمام جماعت اسرائیل بگو: هرکس در روز دهم این ماه، باید برّه‌ یا بُزغاله‌ای برای خانوادهٔ خود بگیرد.

⁴and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls; according to what everyone can eat you shall make your count for the lamb.

⁴ اگر خانواده‌ای کم جمعیّت است و یک حیوان برای آنان زیاد است، حیوان را با همسایهٔ مجاور خود تقسیم کند و هر یک مقداری را که برای افراد خانواده‌اش لازم است بردارند.

⁵Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:

⁵ باید برّه یا بُز یک سالهٔ نر و سالم از میان گلّهٔ خود انتخاب کنید.

⁶and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.

⁶ آن را تا عصر روز چهاردهم همین ماه نگاه دارید. تمام جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل برّه‌های خود را در همان روز قربانی کنند.

⁷They shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

⁷ سپس مقداری از خون آن را بردارید و بر دو طرف چهارچوب و بالای در خانه‌ای که حیوان قرار است در آن خورده شود، بپاشید.

⁸They shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

⁸ در همان شب، تمام گوشتها را کباب کرده با نان بدون خمیرمایه و سبزیجات تلخ بخورید.

⁹Don’t eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire; with its head, its legs and its inner parts.

⁹ این گوشت را نپخته و یا آب‌پز نخورید بلکه تمام آن را، حتّی کلّه و پاچه و روده‌های آن را هم روی آتش کباب کنید.

¹⁰You shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.

¹⁰ هیچ چیزی از آن را تا صبح نگاه ندارید و اگر چیزی از آن باقی ماند آن را با آتش بسوزانید.

¹¹This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh’s Passover.

¹¹ موقع خوردن آن کمربند خود را ببندید، نعلین خود را به پا کنید، عصای خود را به دست بگیرید و آن را با عجله بخورید، چون عید فصح خداوند است.

¹²For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Yahweh.

¹² «در آن شب من از مصر عبور می‌کنم و تمام نخستزاده‌های مصری چه انسان و چه حیوان همه را می‌کشم. من، خداوند هستم و بر تمام خدایان مصر داوری خواهم کرد.

¹³The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.

¹³ خونی که بر دو طرف چهارچوب و بر سر در خانهٔ شما پاشیده شده است، نشانه‌ای است که شما در آنجا زندگی می‌کنید و چون آن نشانه را ببینم، از آن عبور می‌کنم و وقتی‌که مصریان را هلاک می‌کنم، به شما هیچ آسیبی نخواهد رسید.

¹⁴This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to Yahweh: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.

¹⁴ شما باید آن روز را همیشه به‌خاطر داشته باشید و آن را به عنوان عید خداوند همیشه جشن بگیرید تا کاری را که من برای شما کرده‌ام، به یاد داشته باشید. این عید در بین شما یک رسم همیشگی باشد و نسل بعد از نسل آن را نگاه دارید.»

¹⁵“‘Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; even the first day you shall put away yeast out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

¹⁵ خداوند فرمود: «مدّت هفت روز نان بدون خمیرمایه بخورید. در همان روز اول، تمام خمیرمایه را از خانهٔ خود دور بریزید. اگر کسی در این هفت روز نان خمیرمایه‌دار بخورد باید از قوم من جدا شود.

¹⁶In the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no kind of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.

¹⁶ روز اول و همچنین در روز هفتم باید برای عبادت گردهم آیید. در این روزها هیچ کاری نباید بکنید. فقط می‌توانید غذای هرکس را برایش آماده کنید.

¹⁷You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this same day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.

¹⁷ شما باید عید فطیر را نگاه دارید زیرا در چنین روزی بود که طایفه‌های شما را از مصر بیرون آوردم. بنابراین شما در تمام نسلهای خود این عید را جشن بگیرید.

¹⁸In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening.

¹⁸ از عصر روز چهاردهم ماه اول تا عصر روز بیست و یکم، شما نباید نانی که خمیرمایه دارد بخورید.

¹⁹There shall be no yeast found in your houses for seven days, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a foreigner, or one who is born in the land.

¹⁹ برای هفت روز نباید خمیرمایه در خانه‌های شما پیدا شود و اگر کسی در این مدّت چیزی با خمیرمایه بخورد چه غریب و چه اهل آنجا، باید از قوم من جدا شود.

²⁰You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.’”

²⁰ هیچ چیزی که خمیرمایه داشته‌ باشد نخورید، بلکه فقط فطیر بخورید.»

²¹Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, “Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover.

²¹ موسی تمام رهبران قوم اسرائیل را صدا کرد و به آنها گفت: «هر کدام از شما برّه‌ یا بُزغاله‌ای مناسب خانوادهٔ خود انتخاب کنید و آن را برای عید فصح قربانی کنید.

²²You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.

²² یک دسته زوفا بردارید و آن را در خون حیوان که در تشت ریخته شده فرو کنید. سپس آن را به سر در و دو طرف چهارچوب خانه‌های خود بمالید و هیچ‌یک از شما نباید تا صبح از خانه بیرون بیاید.

²³For Yahweh will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two doorposts, Yahweh will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.

²³ چون خداوند از مصر عبور می‌کند تا مصری‌ها را بکشد، وقتی خون را بر سر در و دو طرف چهارچوب خانه‌های شما ببیند، از آن رد می‌شود و اجازه نمی‌دهد که فرشتهٔ مرگ به خانه‌های شما داخل شود و شما را هلاک کند.

²⁴You shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever.

²⁴ شما و فرزندان شما باید این قانون را برای همیشه حفظ کنید.

²⁵It shall happen when you have come to the land which Yahweh will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall keep this service.

²⁵ و وقتی به سرزمینی که خداوند به شما وعده داده است وارد شدید، آنگاه این مراسم را بجا آورید.

²⁶It will happen, when your children ask you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’

²⁶ وقتی فرزندان شما بپرسند که معنی این مراسم چیست؟

²⁷that you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of Yahweh’s Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians, and spared our houses.’” The people bowed their heads and worshiped.

²⁷ پاسخ خواهید داد، این قربانی فصح برای تكریم خداوند است. زیرا او از خانه‌های بنی‌اسرائیل در مصر رد شد و مصری‌ها را هلاک کرد ولی از ما گذشت.» پس بنی‌اسرائیل زانو زدند و خداوند را پرستش کردند.

²⁸The children of Israel went and did so; as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

²⁸ سپس رفتند و آنچه را که خداوند توسط موسی و هارون دستور داده بود انجام دادند.

²⁹It happened at midnight, that Yahweh struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of livestock.

²⁹ در نیمه‌های شب خداوند تمام نخستزاده‌های مصری، از نخستزاده فرعون که بر تخت نشسته بود گرفته تا نخستزادهٔ اسیری که در زندان بود و همچنین نخستزادهٔ حیوانات را نیز کشت.

³⁰Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

³⁰ در آن شب فرعون و درباریان و همهٔ مصری‌ها بیدار شدند و گریه و زاری و شیون عظیمی ‌در مصر برپا شد، زیرا خانه‌ای نبود که پسر مرده‌ای در آن نباشد.

³¹He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said!

³¹ در همان شب فرعون، موسی و هارون را به حضور طلبید و به آنها گفت: «از سرزمین من بیرون بروید. شما و تمامی ‌قوم اسرائیل از كشور من خارج شوید و همان‌طور که می‌خواستید خداوند را پرستش کنید.

³²Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!”

³² چنانکه گفتید گلّه‌ها و رمه‌های خود را بردارید و بروید. به جهت بركت من هم دعا کنید.»

³³The Egyptians were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, “We are all dead men.”

³³ مصری‌ها، اصرار می‌کردند که بنی‌اسرائیل هرچه زودتر سرزمین آنها را ترک کنند. چون می‌گفتند اگر شما از اینجا نروید همهٔ ما خواهیم مرد.

³⁴The people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.

³⁴ بنابراین بنی‌اسرائیل آردهایی را که خمیر کرده بودند ولی هنوز ور نیامده بود و تغارهای خمیر را برداشتند و آنها را در پارچه‌ای پیچیدند و بردوش خود گذاشتند.

³⁵The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.

³⁵ بنی‌اسرائیل همان‌طور که موسی به ایشان فرموده بود، از مصری‌ها زینت آلات طلا و نقره و لباس گرفته بودند.

³⁶Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They despoiled the Egyptians.

³⁶ خداوند بنی‌اسرائیل را در نظر مصری‌ها عزیز گردانیده بود و هرچه می‌خواستند به آنها می‌دادند. به این ترتیب بنی‌اسرائیل اموال مصری‌ها را با خود بردند.

³⁷The children of Israel traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children.

³⁷ بنی‌اسرائیل که تعداد آنها به غیراز زنها و بچّه‌ها در حدود ششصد هزار مرد بود، پیاده از رعمسیس به سُكوّت کوچ کردند.

³⁸A mixed multitude went up also with them, with flocks, herds, and even very much livestock.

³⁸ همچنین عدّهٔ زیادی از اقوام دیگر با گوسفندان، بُزها و گاوان خود با آنها رفتند.

³⁹They baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought out of Egypt; for it wasn’t leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, and couldn’t wait, neither had they prepared for themselves any food.

³⁹ آنها از خمیر ور نیامده‌ای که از مصر با خود آورده بودند نان فطیر پختند. زیرا که با عجله از مصر بیرون آمده بودند و فرصت نکرده بودند که نان بپزند و یا توشهٔ راه آماده کنند.

⁴⁰Now the time that the children of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred thirty years.

⁴⁰ بنی‌اسرائیل مدّت چهارصد و سی سال در مصر زندگی کرده بودند.

⁴¹It happened at the end of four hundred thirty years, even the same day it happened, that all the armies of Yahweh went out from the land of Egypt.

⁴¹ در آن روزی كه چهارصد و سی سال به پایان رسید، تمام طایفه‌های قوم خداوند از مصر بیرون رفتند.

⁴²It is a night to be much observed to Yahweh for bringing them out from the land of Egypt. This is that night of Yahweh, to be much observed of all the children of Israel throughout their generations.

⁴² در این شب بود که خداوند از آنها پاسداری کرده، ایشان را از سرزمین مصر بیرون آورد و این همان شب است که برای خداوند وقف شد تا بنی‌اسرائیل در تمام دوره‌ها و نسلهای خود در آن شب به یاد خداوند باشند.

⁴³Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the Passover. No foreigner shall eat of it,

⁴³ خداوند به موسی و هارون فرمود: «این مقرّرات عید فصح است: هیچ بیگانه‌ای نباید از غذای فصح بخورد.

⁴⁴but every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it.

⁴⁴ امّا هر غلامی‌ که شما خریده‌اید اگر ابتدا او را ختنه کرده‌اید، می‌تواند از آن بخورد.

⁴⁵A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of it.

⁴⁵ غریب یا کارگر روزمزد از آن نخورد.

⁴⁶In one house shall it be eaten; you shall not carry out anything of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall you break a bone of it.

⁴⁶ تمام آن غذا باید در خانه‌ای که تهیّه شده است خورده شود، چیزی از آن نباید بیرون برده شود و هیچ‌یک از استخوانهای آن شکسته نشود.

⁴⁷All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.

⁴⁷ تمام جماعت اسرائیل این عید را نگاهدارند.

⁴⁸When a stranger shall live as a foreigner with you, and will keep the Passover to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one who is born in the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

⁴⁸ کسی‌که ختنه نشده از آن نخورد. امّا اگر غریبه‌ای در بین شما باشد و بخواهد این عید را برای تكریم خداوند نگاه دارد، اول باید تمام مردان اهل خانه‌اش ختنه شوند و بعد آن عید را نگاهدارد. بعد از آن او مانند اهالی آنجا خواهد بود.

⁴⁹One law shall be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you.”

⁴⁹ این مقرّرات برای کسی‌که اصلاً اسرائیلی ‌است و یا غریبی که در میان شما ساکن شده است یکی است.»

⁵⁰All the children of Israel did so. As Yahweh commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

⁵⁰ تمام بنی‌اسرائیل اطاعت کردند و آنچه را که خداوند به موسی و هارون فرموده بود، انجام دادند. در آن روز خداوند بنی‌اسرائیل و تمام طایفه‌های آنها را از مصر بیرون آورد.

⁵¹It happened the same day, that Yahweh brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

⁵¹ در آن روز خداوند بنی‌اسرائیل و تمام طایفه‌های آنها را از مصر بیرون آورد.
