1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

خداوند به موسی فرمود:
2“Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn back and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal Zephon. You shall encamp opposite it by the sea.

«به بنیاسرائیل بگو، بازگردید و در مقابل پیحیروت که بین میگدال و دریای سرخ و نزدیک بعلصفون است اردو بزنید.
3Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are entangled in the land. The wilderness has shut them in.’

فرعون فکر میکند که بنیاسرائیل در بیابان سرگردان شدهاند و صحرا آنها را محاصره کرده است.
4I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will follow after them; and I will get honor over Pharaoh, and over all his armies; and the Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh.” They did so.

من فرعون را سنگدل میکنم و او شما را تعقیب خواهد کرد. آنگاه جلال خود را بر فرعون و بر لشکریان او آشکار خواهم کرد تا مصریان بدانند که من، خداوند هستم.» بنیاسرائیل همانطور که خداوند به آنها دستور داده بود عمل كردند.
5It was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed towards the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

وقتی به فرعون خبر دادند که بنیاسرائیل فرار کردهاند، او و درباریانش پشیمان شده با خود گفتند: «این چه کاری بود که ما کردیم و این قوم را از بردگی خود آزاد ساختیم؟»
6He prepared his chariot, and took his army with him;

پس پادشاه ارابهٔ جنگی و لشکریان خود را با ششصد عدد از بهترین ارّابهها و تمام ارّابههای مصری که سرداران بر همهٔ آنها سوار شده بودند حاضر کرد.
7and he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over all of them.

خداوند، دل فرعون و درباریان او را سخت گردانید و فرعون به تعقیب بنیاسرائیل که جسورانه از مصر بیرون رفته بودند پرداخت.
8Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel; for the children of Israel went out with a high hand.

لشکریان مصر، با تمام اسبان و ارّابههای فرعون و سواران به دنبال بنیاسرائیل رفتند و در پیحیروت و بعلصفون، جایی که اردو زده بودند، به آنها رسیدند.
9The Egyptians pursued after them: all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and his army; and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baal Zephon.

وقتی بنیاسرائیل دیدند که فرعون و لشکریانش به دنبال آنها میآیند ترسیدند و نزد خداوند فریاد کردند.
10When Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were very afraid. The children of Israel cried out to Yahweh.

آنها به موسی گفتند: «آیا در مصر قبر نبود که ما را به این بیابان آوردی تا اینجا بمیریم؟ ببین با بیرون آوردن ما از مصر با ما چهكار كردی.
11They said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way, to bring us out of Egypt?

آیا قبل از اینکه از مصر بیرون بیاییم به تو نگفتیم که بگذار در اینجا بمانیم و مصریها را خدمت کنیم؟ زیرا بهتر است در آنجا برده باشیم تا اینکه اینجا در بیابان بمیریم.»
12Isn’t this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians?’ For it were better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.”

موسی در جواب آنها گفت: «نترسید. بایستید و ببینید که خداوند امروز برای نجات شما چه میکند. شما هرگز دوباره مصریان را نخواهید دید.
13Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will work for you today: for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again.

خداوند برای شما جنگ میکند و لازم نیست شما هیچ کاری بکنید.»
14Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still.”

خداوند به موسی فرمود: «چرا نزد من فریاد میکنید؟ به قوم بگو که پیش بروند.
15Yahweh said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward.

تو هم عصایت را به دست بگیر و با آن به دریا بزن. آب دریا شکافته خواهد شد و بنیاسرائیل میتوانند در وسط دریا از روی خشکی عبور کنند.
16Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

من دل مصریان را سخت میکنم تا آنها شما را تعقیب کنند. پس از آن به وسیلهٔ قدرتی که بر فرعون و لشکریان او و ارّابهها و سوارانش نشان میدهم، جلال خواهم یافت.
17I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go in after them: and I will get myself honor over Pharaoh, and over all his armies, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.

وقتی آنان را شكست دادم مصریان خواهند دانست که من، خداوند هستم.»
18The Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have gotten myself honor over Pharaoh, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.”

فرشتهٔ خداوند که در جلوی اردوی بنیاسرائیل حرکت میکرد، رفت و در پشت سر آنها ایستاد. ستون ابر هم از جلوی ایشان رفت و در پشت سر آنها،
19The angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them.

بین لشکریان مصر و اردوی بنیاسرائیل ایستاد. ستون ابر برای مصریها تاریکی و شب به وجود آورد ولی به قوم اسرائیل روشنایی میبخشید. بنابراین لشکریان آنها نتوانستند به یکدیگر نزدیک شوند.
20It came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and the one didn’t come near the other all the night.

موسی دست خود را به طرف دریا بلند کرد و خداوند به وسیلهٔ یک باد شدید شرقی که در تمام شب میوزید آبهای دریا را به عقب برد. آب شکافته شد
21Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and Yahweh caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

و بنیاسرائیل در میان دریا از روی خشکی عبور کردند و آبها در دو طرف آنها دیوار شده بود.
22The children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

مصریان از عقب آنها رفتند و با تمام اسبان، ارّابهها و سواران آنها به وسط دریا آمدند.
23The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

در وقت سحر خداوند از میان ستون آتش و ابر بر مصریان نگاه کرد و آنها را وحشتزده نمود.
24It happened in the morning watch, that Yahweh looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.

او باعث شد که چرخ ارّابههای آنها گیر کند و آنها به سختی میتوانستند حرکت کنند. مصریان گفتند: «خداوند برای بنیاسرائیل برضد ما میجنگد. بیایید از اینجا بازگردیم.»
25He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, “Let’s flee from the face of Israel, for Yahweh fights for them against the Egyptians!”

خداوند به موسی فرمود: «دست خود را به طرف دریا بلند کن تا آب آن بر روی مصریان و ارّابهها و سواران آنها بازگردد.»
26Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”

موسی دست خود را به طرف دریا بلند کرد و در طلوع صبح آب دریا به حالت اول خود برگشت. مصریان کوشش میکردند فرار کنند ولی خداوند آنها را به وسط دریا انداخت.
27Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it. Yahweh overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

آبها برگشتند و ارّابهها و سواران آنها و لشکریان مصر که به دنبال بنیاسرائیل آمده بودند، در دریا غرق شدند، به طوری که یكی از آنها هم باقی نماند.
28The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.

امّا بنیاسرائیل در وسط دریا از روی زمین خشک عبور کردند و آبها در دو طرف آنها مانند دیوار بود.
29But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

در آن روز خداوند بنیاسرائیل را از دست مصریان نجات داد و بنیاسرائیل جنازهٔ مصریان را در ساحل دریا مشاهده کردند.
وقتی بنیاسرائیل قدرت عظیم خداوند را دیدند که چطور مصریان را شکست داد، از خداوند ترسیده و به او و به خادم او موسی ایمان آوردند.
30Thus Yahweh saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.

وقتی بنیاسرائیل قدرت عظیم خداوند را دیدند که چطور مصریان را شکست داد، از خداوند ترسیده و به او و به خادم او موسی ایمان آوردند.
31Israel saw the great work which Yahweh did to the Egyptians, and the people feared Yahweh; and they believed in Yahweh, and in his servant Moses.
