¹Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

¹ سپس موسی و بنی‌اسرائیل این سرود را برای خداوند سراییدند: «خداوند را می‌سرایم، چون او با شکوه و جلال پیروز شده است. او اسبها و سوارانش را به دریا انداخت

²Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

² خداوند قدرت من و سرود من است. اوست که مرا نجات داده است او خدای من است، او را سپاس خواهم گفت خدای پدر من است، بزرگی او را خواهم سرایید.

³Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name.

³ خداوند مرد جنگی است. نام او خداوند است

⁴He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

⁴ «ارّابه‌ها و لشکر فرعون را به دریا انداخت. بهترین سرداران مصر را به دریای سرخ انداخت

⁵The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.

⁵ دریای عمیق آنها را پوشانید و آنها مثل سنگ به ته دریا رفتند

⁶Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces.

⁶ «دست راست تو، ای خداوند، با قدرت سرافراز گردید و دشمن را تکه‌تکه کرد

⁷In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send forth your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.

⁷ با کثرت جلال خود، دشمنانت را نابود کردی. خشم خود را فرستادی و آنها را مثل خاشاک سوزاندی

⁸With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.

⁸ به دریا دمیدی و آبها بالا آمدند و مثل دیوار ایستادند و اعماق دریا منجمد گردید.

⁹The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the spoil. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’

⁹ دشمن گفت: 'آنها را تعقیب می‌کنم و می‌گیرم. دارایی آنها را تقسیم می‌کنم و هرچه می‌خواهم برمی‌دارم. شمشیر خود را می‌کشم و با دست خود همهٔ آنان را نابود می‌کنم.'

¹⁰You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

¹⁰ ولی یک نسیم از طرف تو آمد و مصریان را در دریا غرق کرد. و مثل سرب به ته دریا رفتند.

¹¹Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

¹¹ «ای خداوند، کدام‌یک از خدایان مثل تو هستند؟ كیست مانند تو عجیب در قدّوسیّت؟ و چه کسی می‌تواند مانند تو معجزات و کارهای عجیب بکند؟

¹²You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them.

¹² تو دست راست خود را دراز کردی و زمین، دشمنان ما را فرو برد.

¹³“You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.

¹³ از روی محبّت پایدار خود، قومی ‌را که نجات دادی، رهبری نمودی و در قدرت خود ایشان را به سوی مسکن مقدّس خود هدایت کردی.

¹⁴The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia.

¹⁴ امّتها شنیدند و نگران شدند. فلسطینی‌ها از ترس به لرزه افتادند.

¹⁵Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away.

¹⁵ و رهبران اَدوم متحیّر شدند. قدرتمندان موآب بر خود لرزیدند. و مردم کنعان برافروخته شدند.

¹⁶Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people pass over who you have purchased.

¹⁶ ترس و وحشت آنها را فراگرفت. آنها قدرت تو را دیدند، و از ترس بی‌حرکت ماندند. تا اینکه قوم تو، قومی ‌که تو ای خداوند از بردگی آزاد کردی، عبور کنند.

¹⁷You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.

¹⁷ تو ایشان را خواهی آورد و در کوه خود غرس خواهی کرد در مکانی که تو ای خداوند برای خود انتخاب کرده‌ای. یعنی در مکان مقدّسی که خودت آن را بنا نموده‌ای.

¹⁸ تو ای خداوند تا به ابد پادشاهی خواهی کرد.»

¹⁹For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea.

¹⁹ بنی‌اسرائیل در میان دریا از روی زمین خشک عبور کردند، امّا وقتی ارّابه‌های مصریان با اسبان و سوارانشان به دریا رفتند، خداوند آبها را بازگردانید و آنها را غرق کرد.

²⁰Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.

²⁰ مریم، که نبیّه و خواهر هارون بود دف خود را برداشت و تمام زنها به دنبال او دفهای خود را برداشته رقص‌کنان بیرون آمدند.

²¹Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”

²¹ مریم این سرود را برای آنها خواند: «برای خداوند بسرایید زیرا که با جلال پیروز شده است. او اسبها و سوارانش را به دریا انداخت.»

²²Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds , and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

²² سپس موسی بنی‌اسرائیل را از دریای سرخ حرکت داد و به صحرای شور برد. آنها مدّت سه روز در بیابان حرکت کردند ولی آب پیدا نکردند.

²³When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. Marah means bitter.

²³ پس از آن به ماره رسیدند ولی آب آنجا به قدری تلخ بود که نمی‌توانستند از آن بنوشند. به همین دلیل بود که آنجا ماره نامیده شده بود.

²⁴The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

²⁴ پس مردم نزد موسی شکایت کردند و گفتند: «چه باید بنوشیم؟»

²⁵Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them;

²⁵ موسی نزد خداوند دعا کرد و التماس نمود و خداوند قطعه چوبی به او نشان داد. او آن را برداشت و به آب انداخت و آب شیرین شد. در آنجا خداوند قانونی برای آنها معیّن نمود تا مطابق آن زندگی کنند و آنها را در آنجا امتحان کرد.

²⁶and he said, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.”

²⁶ خداوند فرمود: «اگر از من اطاعت کنید و هرچه را که در نظر من درست است بجا بیاورید و اوامر مرا نگاه دارید، من شما را با هیچ‌یک از مرضهایی که بر مصریان فرستادم، مجازات نخواهم کرد. من، خداوند هستم. همان کسی‌که شما را شفا می‌دهد.» روز بعد به ایلیم آمدند. در آنجا دوازده چشمهٔ آب و هفتاد درخت خرما بود. آنها در آنجا در کنار آب اردو زدند.

²⁷They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

²⁷ روز بعد به ایلیم آمدند. در آنجا دوازده چشمهٔ آب و هفتاد درخت خرما بود. آنها در آنجا در کنار آب اردو زدند.
