1Yahweh said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh, for by a strong hand he shall let them go, and by a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land.”

آنگاه خداوند به موسی فرمود: «حالا خواهی دید که من با فرعون چه میکنم. من او را مجبور میکنم که قوم مرا آزاد کند. در حقیقت کاری میکنم که او مجبور شود قوم مرا از این سرزمین بیرون کند.»
2God spoke to Moses, and said to him, “I am Yahweh;

خدا به موسی فرمود: «من، خداوند هستم،
3and I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Yahweh I was not known to them.
3
به ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب به عنوان خدای قادر مطلق ظاهر شدم ولی خودم را با اسم خود یعنی 'خداوند' به آنها نشناساندم.
4I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their travels, in which they lived as aliens.

با آنها پیمان بستم و وعده دادم که سرزمین کنعان، یعنی سرزمینی را که در آن مانند بیگانگان زندگی كردند به آنها بدهم.
5Moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.

حالا آه و نالهٔ بنیاسرائیل که مصریها آنها را غلام و بردهٔ خود کردهاند، شنیدهام و پیمان خود را به یاد آوردهام.
6Therefore tell the children of Israel, ‘I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments:

پس به بنیاسرائیل بگو که من به آنها میگویم: 'من، خداوند هستم و شما را از بندگی مصریها آزاد خواهم کرد. و با بازوی قدرتمند خود آنها را سخت مجازات خواهم نمود و شما را نجات خواهم داد.
7and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you shall know that I am Yahweh your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

شما را قوم خود خواهم ساخت و خدای شما خواهم بود. وقتی شما را از بردگی مصریها نجات دادم، خواهید دانست که من خدای شما هستم.
8I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am Yahweh.’”

من شما را به سرزمینی خواهم آورد که صمیمانه وعده كرده بودم آن را به ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب بدهم. من آن را به شما خواهم داد تا مال خودتان باشد. من، خداوند هستم.'»
9Moses spoke so to the children of Israel, but they didn’t listen to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

موسی این سخنان را به بنیاسرائیل گفت، ولی آنها به سخنان او گوش ندادند، چون روح آنها در زیر بار بردگی سخت خرد شده بود.
10Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

آنگاه خداوند به موسی فرمود:
11“Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.”

«برو به فرعون بگو که باید بگذاری بنیاسرائیل از مصر بیرون بروند.»
12Moses spoke before Yahweh, saying, “Behold, the children of Israel haven’t listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, who am of uncircumcised lips?”

امّا موسی به خداوند عرض کرد: «بنیاسرائیل به سخنان من گوش نمیدهند، پس چطور فرعون به سخنان من گوش خواهد داد درصورتیکه من در سخن گفتن هم ناتوانم؟»
13Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a command to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

خداوند به موسی و هارون مأموریت داد: «به بنیاسرائیل و فرعون بگویید كه من به شما فرمان دادم تا بنیاسرائیل را از مصر بیرون بیاورید.»
14These are the heads of their fathers’ houses. The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

اسامی سران طایفههای آنها از این قرار است: رئوبین که نخستزادهٔ یعقوب بود، چهار پسر داشت: حنوک، فلو، حصرون و کرمی که اینها پدران خاندانهایی هستند كه به نام ایشان خوانده میشوند.
15The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.

شمعون شش پسر داشت: یموئیل، یامین، اوهد، یاکین، صوحر و شاول که از زن کنعانی برایش به دنیا آمده بود. اینها نیاکان خاندانهایی هستند كه به نام ایشان خوانده میشوند.
16These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were one hundred thirty-seven years.

لاوی صد و سی و هفت سال عمر کرد و دارای سه پسر بود به نامهای جرشون، قهات و مراری که اینها نیاکان خاندانهایی هستند كه به نام ایشان خوانده میشوند.
17The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.
17
جرشون دارای دو پسر بود به نامهای لبنی و شمعی که هریک دارای طایفههای متعدّدی شدند.
18The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred thirty-three years.
18
قهات صد و سی و سه سال عمر کرد و دارای چهار پسر شد به نامهای عمرام، ایصهار، حبرون و عُزیئیل.
19The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.
19
مراری دو پسر داشت به نامهای محلی و موشی که با فرزندانشان خاندانهای لاوی را تشکیل دادند.
20Amram took Jochebed his father’s sister to himself as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty-seven years.

عمرام با عمهاش یوکابد ازدواج کرد. یوکابد، هارون و موسی را زایید. عمرام صد و سی و هفت سال عمر کرد.
21The sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.
21
ایصهار سه پسر داشت به نامهای قورح، نافج و زکری.
22The sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.
22
عُزیئیل سه پسر داشت به نامهای میشائیل، ایلصافن و ستری.
23Aaron took Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, as his wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

هارون با الیشابع که دختر عمیناداب و خواهر نحشون بود ازدواج کرد و دارای چهار پسر شد به نامهای ناداب، ابیهو، العازار و ایتامار.
24The sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.

قورح دارای سه پسر شد به نامهای اسیر، القانه و ابیاساف. اینها نیاکان شاخههای طایفهٔ قورح بودند.
25Eleazar Aaron’s son took one of the daughters of Putiel as his wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families.

العازار پسر هارون با یکی از دختران فوتیئیل ازدواج کرد و صاحب پسری شد به نام فینحاس. این بود اسامی سران خاندانها و خانوادههای طایفهٔ لاوی.
26These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom Yahweh said, “Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.”

موسی و هارون همان کسانی بودند که خداوند به ایشان فرمود: «بنیاسرائیل را با تمامی طایفههایش از سرزمین مصر بیرون بیاورید.»
27These are those who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. These are that Moses and Aaron.

موسی و هارون کسانی هستند که به فرعون، گفتند: «بنیاسرائیل را از مصر آزاد کن.»
28It happened on the day when Yahweh spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,

یک روز خداوند در سرزمین مصر با موسی سخن گفت و فرمود:
29that Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “I am Yahweh. Speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak to you.”

«من، خداوند هستم. هر آنچه را به تو میگویم به فرعون، بگو.»
امّا موسی به خداوند عرض کرد: «خداوندا، تو میدانی که من در سخن گفتن کُند هستم. پس چطور فرعون به سخنان من گوش خواهد داد؟»
30Moses said before Yahweh, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh listen to me?”

امّا موسی به خداوند عرض کرد: «خداوندا، تو میدانی که من در سخن گفتن کُند هستم. پس چطور فرعون به سخنان من گوش خواهد داد؟»
