¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

¹ خداوند به موسی فرمود

²“Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘You shall be holy; for I Yahweh your God am holy.

² که به قوم اسرائیل بگوید: «شما باید مثل من که خداوند خدای شما هستم، مقدّس باشید.

³“‘Each one of you shall respect his mother and his father. You shall keep my Sabbaths. I am Yahweh your God.

³ به پدر و مادرتان احترام بگذارید و مقرّرات سبت مرا رعایت نمایید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

⁴“‘Don’t turn to idols, nor make molten gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.

⁴ «بت‌پرستی نکنید و برای خود بت نسازید، چرا که من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

⁵“‘When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.

⁵ «هنگامی‌که قربانی سلامتی به حضور من تقدیم می‌کنید، قوانین را رعایت کنید، تا هدیهٔ شما پذیرفته شود.

⁶It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day: and if anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned with fire.

⁶ گوشتش را باید در همان روزی که حیوان را قربانی می‌کنید و یا فردای آن بخورید. هرچه را که تا روز سوم باقی می‌ماند، باید در آتش بسوزانید.

⁷If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination. It will not be accepted;

⁷ اگر در روز سوم آن را بخورید، مکروه است و من آن قربانی را نمی‌پذیرم.

⁸but everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of Yahweh, and that soul shall be cut off from his people.

⁸ پس اگر در روز سوم آن را بخورید، گناهکار می‌شوید، زیرا به قدّوسیّت من، بی‌احترامی می‌کنید و در نتیجه، از بین قوم من طرد می‌شوید.

⁹“‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.

⁹ «وقتی محصول زمین خود را درو می‌کنید گوشه و کنار زمین را درو ننمایید. همچنین خوشه‌هایی را که باقیمانده‌اند جمع نکنید.

¹⁰You shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the foreigner. I am Yahweh your God.

¹⁰ در وقت انگور‌چینی، تمام انگورهای تاکستان خود را نچینید. خوشه‌ها و دانه‌های انگور را که بر زمین افتاده‌اند، جمع نکنید. آنها را برای فقرا و بیگانگان بگذارید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

¹¹“‘You shall not steal. “‘You shall not lie. “‘You shall not deceive one another.

¹¹ «از دزدی، خیانت و دروغگویی پرهیز نمایید.

¹²“‘You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

¹² به نام من قسم ناحق نخورید و نام مرا بی‌حرمت نسازید، چون من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

¹³“‘You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. “‘The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

¹³ «به همنوع‌ خود ضرر نرسانید و به مال او خیانت نکنید. مزد کارگری را که برای شما کار می‌کند در موقع معیّن بپردازید. حتّی برای شب هم پیش خود نگاه ندارید.

¹⁴“‘You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind; but you shall fear your God. I am Yahweh.

¹⁴ به اشخاص کَر، دشنام ندهید و پیش پای مردمان کور، سنگ نیندازید، بلکه از من بترسید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

¹⁵“‘You shall do no injustice in judgment: you shall not be partial to the poor, nor show favoritism to the great; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness.

¹⁵ «در قضاوت، عادل باشید و بین فرد تنگدست و ثروتمند تبعیض قایل نشوید، بلکه با همه از روی انصاف و عدالت رفتار نمایید.

¹⁶“‘You shall not go up and down as a slanderer among your people. “‘You shall not endanger the life literally, “blood” of your neighbor. I am Yahweh.

¹⁶ سخن‌چینی نکنید و هرگاه جان کسی در دادگاه در میان باشد، اگر شهادت شما به او کمک می‌کند، ساکت نمانید. زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

¹⁷“‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

¹⁷ «کینه‌توز نباشید. اختلافات خود را حل کنید تا دچار گناه نشوید.

¹⁸“‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh.

¹⁸ از کسی انتقام نگیرید و از او متنفّر نشوید، بلکه همسایه‌ات را مثل جان خود دوست بدار، زیرا من خداوند خدای هستم.

¹⁹“‘You shall keep my statutes. “‘You shall not crossbreed different kinds of animals. “‘you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; “‘neither shall there come upon on you a garment made of two kinds of material.

¹⁹ «احکام مرا بجا آورید. حیوانات خانگی را با حیوانات غیر همنوع آنها وادار به جفت‌گیری نکنید. در زمین خود دو نوع بذر نکارید و لباسی که می‌پوشید، نباید از دو نوع پارچهٔ مختلف باشد.

²⁰“‘If a man lies carnally with a woman who is a slave girl, pledged to be married to another man, and not ransomed, or given her freedom; they shall be punished. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

²⁰ «اگر کسی با کنیزی که صیغهٔ شخص دیگری است، همبستر شود و آن کنیز بازخرید و یا آزاد نشده باشد، آنها را نباید کشت، بلکه مجازات شوند، چرا که آن زن آزاد نشده است.

²¹He shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, even a ram for a trespass offering.

²¹ و آن مرد باید قوچی را به عنوان قربانی جبران خطا جلوی در ورودی خیمهٔ مقدّس بیاورد.

²²The priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before Yahweh for his sin which he has committed: and the sin which he has committed shall be forgiven him.

²² و کاهن باید با آن قوچ برای او به حضور خداوند کفّاره کند و به این ترتیب آن مرد از گناه پاک می‌شود.

²³“‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as forbidden. literally, “uncircumcised” Three years shall they be forbidden to you. It shall not be eaten.

²³ «هنگامی‌که به سرزمین کنعان وارد شدید، هرگونه درخت میوه که کاشتید، میوه‌های آنها را برای سه سال اول ناپاک بدانید و شما نباید میوهٔ آنها را بخورید.

²⁴But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, for giving praise to Yahweh.

²⁴ تمام محصول سال چهارم را برای سپاس و شکرگزاری وقف خداوند کنید.

²⁵In the fifth year you shall eat its fruit, that it may yield its increase to you. I am Yahweh your God.

²⁵ امّا در سال پنجم شما می‌توانید از میوهٔ آنها بخورید و اگر به همین طریق رفتار کنید، ثمر فراوان می‌گیرید؛ زیرا من، خداوند خدای شما هستم.

²⁶“‘You shall not eat any meat with the blood still in it; neither shall you use enchantments, nor practice sorcery.

²⁶ «شما نباید گوشتی را که خون داشته باشد بخورید. از فالگیری و جادوگری خودداری کنید.

²⁷“‘You shall not cut the hair on the sides of your heads, neither shall you clip off the edge of your beard.

²⁷ موهای شقیقه‌های خود را نتراشید و گوشه‌های ریش خود را نچینید.

²⁸“‘You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you. I am Yahweh.

²⁸ در مراسم عزاداری برای مردگان، بدن خود را زخمی یا خالکوبی نکنید.

²⁹“‘Don’t profane your daughter, to make her a prostitute; lest the land fall to prostitution, and the land become full of wickedness.

²⁹ «دخترتان را با وادار ساختن به فاحشه‌گری در پرستشگاه، بی‌حرمت و بی‌عصمت نسازید. اگر چنین کنید آنها به دنبال خدایان دیگر رفته و سرزمین شما پُر از زنا و شرارت خواهد شد.

³⁰“‘You shall keep my Sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.

³⁰ شرایط و مقرّرات روز سبت مرا رعایت کنید و معبد مرا مقدّس و محترم شمارید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

³¹“‘Don’t turn to those who are mediums, nor to the wizards. Don’t seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am Yahweh your God.

³¹ «از جنگیران و جادوگران طلب کمک نکنید، زیرا آنها شما را آلوده و ناپاک می‌سازند، چرا که من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

³²“‘You shall rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God. I am Yahweh.

³² «در جلو پای مو سفیدان بپا برخیزید و به پیر مردان احترام گذارید.

³³“‘If a stranger lives as a foreigner with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.

³³ «اگر یک شخص بیگانه در سرزمین شما زندگی می‌کند، به او آزار نرسانید

³⁴The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.

³⁴ با او مثل یک اسرائیلی رفتار کنید و مثل جان خود دوستش بدارید، زیرا خود شما زمانی در سرزمین مصر بیگانه بودید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

³⁵“‘You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity.

³⁵ «در اندازه‌گیری طول و حجم و وزن تقلّب نکنید.

³⁶You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, 1 ephah is about 22 litres or about 2/3 of a bushel and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

³⁶ از وسایل دقیق استفاده کنید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم و من شما را از مصر بیرون آوردم. شما باید تمام احکام و قوانین مرا بجا آورید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.»

³⁷“‘You shall observe all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them. I am Yahweh.’”

³⁷ شما باید تمام احکام و قوانین مرا بجا آورید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.»
