¹“‘You shall make for yourselves no idols, neither shall you raise up an engraved image or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am Yahweh your God.

¹ خداوند فرمود: «‌بُتها، ستونهای سنگی و مجسمه‌های تراشیده برای پرستش نسازید، زیرا من خداوند خدای شما هستم.

²“‘You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.

² از مقرّرات سبت من پیروی کنید و به معبد من احترام بگذارید، زیرا من خداوند هستم.

³“‘If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

³ «اگر مطابق اوامر و احکام من رفتار کنید و آنها را بجا آورید،

⁴then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

⁴ من باران را به موقع خواهم فرستاد تا کشتزار، محصول و درختان، میوه بار آورند.

⁵Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

⁵ خرمن شما آن‌قدر زیاد می‌شود که کوبیدن آن تا فصل چیدن انگور طول خواهد کشید و محصول انگور شما به قدری فراوان می‌شود که چیدن آن تا زمان کاشتن بذر طول خواهد کشید. خوراک فراوان خواهید داشت و در سرزمین خود در امنیّت زندگی خواهید کرد.

⁶“‘I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid; and I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

⁶ «من در آنجا صلح برقرار می‌سازم و بدون ترس و با آسودگی به خواب می‌روید. حیوانات خطرناک را از سرزمین شما دور می‌کنم و جنگ و خونریزی در آن رخ نمی‌دهد.

⁷You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

⁷ بر دشمنان غالب می‌شوید و با شمشیر شما، هلاک می‌گردند.

⁸Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

⁸ پنج نفر از شما می‌توانند صد نفر را مغلوب سازند و صد نفر شما هزار نفر را شکست می‌دهند.

⁹“‘I will have respect for you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

⁹ به شما برکت می‌دهم و فرزندان زیاد عطا می‌کنم و به قولی که داده‌ام، وفا می‌کنم.

¹⁰You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall move out the old because of the new.

¹⁰ محصولات شما آن‌قدر زیاد می‌شوند که تا برداشتن محصول آینده باقی می‌مانند و نمی‌دانید که با آن غلّهٔ اضافه چه کنید.

¹¹I will set my tent among you: and my soul won’t abhor you.

¹¹ من در بین شما ساکن می‌شوم و هرگز شما را ترک نمی‌کنم.

¹²I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.

¹² من همیشه با شما خواهم بود. من خدای شما خواهم بود و شما قوم من خواهید بود.

¹³I am Yahweh your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

¹³ من خداوند خدای شما هستم که شما را از سرزمین مصر بیرون آوردم تا دیگر بردهٔ آن مردم نباشید. زنجیر بردگی را از پایتان و یوغ اسارت را از دوش شما برداشتم تا با سرفرازی راه بروید.

¹⁴“‘But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments;

¹⁴ «امّا اگر به حرف من گوش ندهید،

¹⁵and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;

¹⁵ قوانین مرا رد کنید، اوامر مرا بجا نیاورید و پیمانی را که با شما بسته‌ام بشکنید، این‌طور جزا می‌بینید:

¹⁶I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

¹⁶ بر سر شما بلای ناگهانی می‌آورم. شما را به مرضی بی‌درمان گرفتار می‌سازم. به تبی که چشمانتان را کور و عمر شما را کوتاه کند، مبتلا می‌شوید و دشمنان محصول زحمت شما را می‌خورند.

¹⁷I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.

¹⁷ برضد شما برمی‌خیزم و شما را به دست دشمن مغلوب می‌سازم و بدخواهانتان بر شما حکومت می‌کنند. شما آن‌قدر وحشت‌زده می‌شوید که بدون اینکه کسی شما را تعقیب کند، پا به فرار می‌گذارید.

¹⁸“‘If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

¹⁸ «اگر باز هم از من اطاعت نکنید، سزای گناهتان را هفت برابر می‌سازم.

¹⁹I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like brass;

¹⁹ قدرتی را که به آن افتخار می‌کنید، نابود می‌سازم. باران بر زمین نخواهد بارید و زمین شما مانند آهن، سخت خواهد شد.

²⁰and your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won’t yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

²⁰ تمام تلاش شما بیهوده خواهد بود، زیرا زمین و درختان شما محصول و میوه بار نخواهند آورد.

²¹“‘If you walk contrary to me, and won’t listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

²¹ «اگر باز هم خلاف میل من رفتار کنید و به حرف من گوش ندهید، بلاهایی که بر سر شما می‌آورم هفت برابر خواهند بود.

²²I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your roads will become desolate.

²² من حیوانات خطرناک وحشی را در میان شما خواهم فرستاد تا فرزندان شما را بکُشند و گلّهٔ شما را نابود کنند و از تعداد جمعیّت شما بکاهند تا جاده‌های شما خالی و متروک شوند.

²³“‘If by these things you won’t be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me;

²³ «اگر با وجود این‌همه مجازات، باز هم به حرف من توجّه ننمایید و خلاف رضای من رفتار کنید،

²⁴then I will also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins.

²⁴ آن وقت برضد شما بر می‌خیزم و خودم سزای گناه شما را هفت مرتبه دشوارتر می‌سازم.

²⁵I will bring a sword upon you, that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; and you will be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

²⁵ اگر پیمان مرا بشکنید، از شما انتقام می‌گیرم و به ضد شما جنگ برپا می‌کنم و اگر برای حفاظت جان خود در شهرها بگریزید، بیماریهای بی‌درمانی را در بین شما شایع می‌کنم و شما را مغلوب دشمنان می‌سازم.

²⁶When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

²⁶ ذخیرهٔ آرد شما را آن‌قدر کاهش می‌دهم که ده زن در یک تنور نان بپزند و با جیره‌ای که به شما داده می‌شود، سیر نمی‌شوید.

²⁷“‘If you in spite of this won’t listen to me, but walk contrary to me;

²⁷ «اگر با وجود این‌همه مجازات، باز هم به حرف من گوش ندهید و از من اطاعت نکنید،

²⁸then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

²⁸ آنگاه من غضب خود را بر سر شما می‌آورم و سزای گناهتان را هفت مرتبه شدیدتر از پیش می‌کنم.

²⁹You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

²⁹ از شدّت گرسنگی گوشت فرزندان خود را خواهید خورد.

³⁰I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.

³⁰ پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌های شما را ویران می‌کنم، قربانگاههایی را که در آن بُخور می‌سوزانید، نابود خواهم کرد. اجساد شما را به روی بُتهای شما خواهم انداخت و از شما متنفّر خواهم شد.

³¹I will lay your cities waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not take delight in the sweet fragrance of your offerings.

³¹ شهرهای شما را به خرابه تبدیل می‌نمایم، پرستشگاههای شما را خراب می‌کنم و قربانی‌های شما را نمی‌پذیرم.

³²I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein will be astonished at it.

³² سرزمین شما را بکلّی ویران می‌کنم تا دشمنان شما که در آنها جایگزین می‌شوند، تباهی آنها را ببینند و حیران شوند.

³³I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

³³ شما را در بین اقوام جهان پراکنده می‌سازم. جنگ را بر سر شما می‌آورم، شهرهای شما را ویران و از سکنه خالی می‌گردانم.

³⁴Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

³⁴ درحالی‌که شما در تبعید در سرزمین دشمنانتان به سر می‌برید، زمینهای شما برای سالهایی که شما به آنها استراحت نداده‌اید، استراحت کامل خواهند کرد و بایر خواهند ماند.

³⁵As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn’t have in your sabbaths, when you lived on it.

³⁵ «من شما را در تبعید چنان دچار وحشت خواهم ساخت که از صدای برگی که در اثر وزش باد حرکت می‌کند، هراسان شوید و مانند کسی‌که از ترس شمشیر می‌گریزد، پا به فرار بگذارید و بر زمین بیفتید

³⁶“‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they will fall when no one pursues.

³⁶ با وجودی که کسی شما را دنبال نمی‌کند در هنگام فرار بر روی یکدیگر خواهید افتاد و نیرویی برای مبارزه با دشمن نخواهید داشت.

³⁷They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues: and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.

³⁷ در اسارت می‌میرید و در دیار دشمنان خود به خاک می‌روید.

³⁸You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will eat you up.

³⁸ کسانی‌که در سرزمین دشمن باقی بمانند، به‌خاطر گناهان خود و اجدادشان از بین می‌روند.

³⁹Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

³⁹ «امّا اگر فرزندانتان به گناهان خود و اجدادشان -‌یعنی آن کسانی‌که با من مقاومت کردند،

⁴⁰“‘If they confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,

⁴⁰ و علیه من سرکشی نمودند و باعث شدند که من روی خود را از آنها بازگردانم و آنها را به تبعید به سرزمین دشمنانشان بفرستم - اعتراف کنند، و فروتن شده و مجازات گناه و سرکشی خود را پرداخت کنند،

⁴¹I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;

⁴¹ آن وقت پیمان خود را که با یعقوب و اسحاق و ابراهیم بسته بودم، به‌یاد می‌آورم و سرزمین آنها را به‌یاد می‌آورم.

⁴²then I will remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.

⁴² ابتدا زمینها باید تخلیه شوند تا کاملاً استراحت کنند و آنها باید مجازات کامل بشوند، زیرا دستورات و فرمانهای مرا نپذیرفتند.

⁴³The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them: and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

⁴³ ولی با وجود این، آنها را در سرزمین دشمنان خود بکلّی ترک نمی‌کنم، از بین نمی‌برم و پیمان خود را نمی‌شکنم، زیرا من خداوند خدای ایشان هستم.

⁴⁴Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God;

⁴⁴ پیمان خود را که با اجداد آنها بسته بودم به‌یاد می‌آورم، زیرا من با قدرت خود آنها را در برابر چشمان مردم مصر از آن سرزمین بیرون آوردم، تا من خداوند خدای آنها باشم.» اینها قوانین و احکامی می‌باشند که خداوند در کوه سینا، توسط موسی به قوم اسرائیل داد.

⁴⁵but I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am Yahweh.’”

⁴⁵ اینها قوانین و احکامی می‌باشند که خداوند در کوه سینا، توسط موسی به قوم اسرائیل داد.

⁴⁶These are the statutes, ordinances and laws, which Yahweh made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by Moses.
