¹Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

¹ در همان هنگام عدّه‌ای در آنجا حضور داشتند كه داستان جلیلیانی را كه پیلاطس خونشان را با قربانی‌هایشان درآمیخته بود بیان كردند.

²Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?

² عیسی به آنان جواب داد: «آیا تصوّر می‌کنید این جلیلیان كه دچار آن سرنوشت شدند، از سایر جلیلیان خطاكارتر بودند؟

³ I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.

³ یقیناً خیر! امّا بدانید كه اگر توبه نكنید همهٔ شما مانند آنان نابود خواهید شد.

⁴ Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?

⁴ و یا آن هجده نفری كه در موقع فرو ریختن بُرجی در سيلوحا كشته شدند، خیال می‌کنید كه از سایر مردمانی كه در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کردند گناهكارتر بودند؟

⁵ I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

⁵ خیر، بلكه مطمئن باشید اگر توبه نكنید، همهٔ شما مانند آنان نابود خواهید شد.»

⁶He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.

⁶ عیسی برای آنان این مَثَل را آورده گفت: «مردی در تاكستانش درخت انجیری داشت و برای چیدن میوه به آنجا رفت ولی چیزی پیدا نكرد.

⁷ He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’

⁷ پس به باغبان گفت: 'نگاه كن الآن سه سال است كه من می‌آیم و در این درخت دنبال میوه می‌گردم ولی چیزی پیدا نکرده‌ام. آن را بِبُر، چرا بی‌سبب زمین را اشغال كند؟'

⁸ He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.

⁸ امّا او جواب داد: 'ارباب، این یک سال هم بگذار بماند تا من دورش را بكنم و كود بریزم.

⁹ If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

⁹ اگر در موسم آینده میوه آورد، چه بهتر وگرنه دستور بده تا آن را ببرند.'»

¹⁰He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.

¹⁰ یک روز سبت عیسی در كنیسه‌ای به تعلیم مشغول بود.

¹¹Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.

¹¹ در آنجا زنی حضور داشت كه روحی پلید او را مدّت هجده سال رنجور كرده بود. پشتش خمیده شده بود و نمی‌توانست راست بایستد.

¹²When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

¹² وقتی عیسی او را دید به او فرمود: «ای زن، تو از بیماری خود شفا یافتی.»

¹³He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.

¹³ بعد دستهای خود را بر او گذاشت و فوراً قامت او راست شد و به شكرگزاری پرودگار پرداخت.

¹⁴The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

¹⁴ امّا در عوض سرپرست كنیسه از اینكه عیسی در روز سبت شفا داده بود، دلگیر شد و به جماعت گفت: «شش روز تعیین شده است كه باید كار كرد، در یكی از آن روزها بیایید و شفا بگیرید، نه در روز سبت.»

¹⁵Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?

¹⁵ عیسی خداوند در جواب او فرمود: «ای ریاكاران! آیا كسی در میان شما پیدا می‌شود كه در روز سبت گاو یا الاغ خود را از آخور باز نكند و برای آب دادن بیرون نبرد؟

¹⁶ Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

¹⁶ پس چه عیب دارد اگر این زن كه دختر ابراهیم است و هجده سال گرفتار شیطان بود، در روز سبت از این بندها آزاد شود؟»

¹⁷As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed, and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

¹⁷ وقتی عیسی این سخنان را فرمود مخالفان او خجل گشتند، درحالی‌که عموم مردم از کارهای شگفت‌انگیزی كه انجام می‌داد، خوشحال بودند.

¹⁸He said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? To what shall I compare it?

¹⁸ عیسی به سخنان خود ادامه داد و فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا مانند چیست؟ آن را به چه چیز تشبیه كنم؟

¹⁹ It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky lodged in its branches.”

¹⁹ مانند دانهٔ خَردَلی است كه شخصی آن را در باغ خود كاشت، آن دانه رشد كرد و درختی شد و پرندگان آمدند و در میان شاخه‌هایش آشیانه گرفتند.»

²⁰ Again he said, “To what shall I compare the Kingdom of God?

²⁰ باز فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا را به چه چیز تشبیه كنم؟

²¹ It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel of flour, until it was all leavened.”

²¹ مانند خمیرمایه‌ای است كه زنی آن را با سه پیمانه آرد مخلوط كرد تا تمام خمیر وَر بیاید.»

²²He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.

²² عیسی به سفر خود در شهرها و روستاها ادامه داد و درحالی‌که به سوی اورشلیم می‌رفت، به مردم تعلیم می‌داد.

²³One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,

²³ شخصی از او پرسید: «ای آقا، آیا فقط عدّهٔ کمی نجات می‌یابند؟» عیسی به ایشان گفت:

²⁴ “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.

²⁴ «سخت بكوشید تا خود را به داخل درِ تنگ برسانید و بدانید كه عدّهٔ بسیاری برای ورود كوشش خواهند كرد ولی توفیق نخواهند یافت.

²⁵ When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

²⁵ بعد از آنکه صاحب‌خانه برخیزد و در را قفل كند شما خود را بیرون خواهید دید و در آن موقع در را می‌کوبید و می‌گویید: 'ای آقا، اجازه بفرما به داخل بیاییم' امّا جواب او فقط این خواهد بود: 'من نمی‌دانم شما از كجا آمده‌اید.'

²⁶ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

²⁶ بعد شما خواهید گفت: 'ما با تو سر یک سفره خوردیم و نوشیدیم و تو در كوچه‌های ما، تعلیم می‌دادی.'

²⁷ He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

²⁷ امّا او باز به شما خواهد گفت: 'نمی‌دانم شما از كجا آمده‌اید. ای بدكاران همه از پیش چشم من دور شوید.'

²⁸ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.

²⁸ در آن زمان شما كه ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب و تمام انبیا را در پادشاهی خدا می‌‌بینید، درحالی‌که خودتان محروم هستید، چقدر گریه خواهید كرد و دندان بر دندان خواهید فشرد.

²⁹ They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God.

²⁹ مردم از مشرق و مغرب و شمال و جنوب خواهند آمد و در پادشاهی خدا، بر سر سفره خواهند نشست.

³⁰ Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

³⁰ آری، آنان كه اكنون آخرین هستند، اولین و آنان كه اكنون اولین هستند، آخرین خواهند بود.»

³¹On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”

³¹ در آن موقع عدّه‌ای از فریسیان پیش او آمدند و گفتند: «اینجا را ترک كن و به جای دیگری برو. هیرودیس قصد جان تو را دارد.»

³²He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

³² عیسی جواب داد: «بروید و به آن روباه بگویید: 'من امروز و فردا دیوها را بیرون می‌رانم و شفا می‌دهم و در روز سوم به هدف خود نایل می‌شوم.'

³³ Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.’

³³ امّا باید امروز و فردا و پس فردا به سفر خود ادامه دهم زیرا این محال است كه نبی در جایی جز اورشلیم بمیرد.

³⁴ “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

³⁴ «ای اورشلیم، ای اورشلیم، ای شهری كه انبیا را می‌كشی و آنانی را كه پیش تو فرستاده می‌شوند سنگسار می‌کنی! چه بسیار آرزو داشته‌ام مانند مرغی كه جوجه‌های خود را زیر پروبالش می‌گیرد، فرزندان تو را به دور خود جمع كنم امّا نخواستی. به شما می‌گویم كه معبد بزرگ شما متروک به شما واگذار خواهد شد! و بدانید كه دیگر مرا نخواهید دید تا آن زمان كه بگویید: 'متبارک است آن کسی‌که به نام خداوند می‌آید.'»

³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Psalm 118:26

³⁵ به شما می‌گویم كه معبد بزرگ شما متروک به شما واگذار خواهد شد! و بدانید كه دیگر مرا نخواهید دید تا آن زمان كه بگویید: 'متبارک است آن کسی‌که به نام خداوند می‌آید.'»
