¹Yahweh said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your fathers’ house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

¹ خداوند به هارون فرمود: «تو، پسرانت و سایر لاویان در مقابل هر نوع بی‌حرمتی که به خیمهٔ عبادت شود، مسئول هستید. فقط تو و پسرانت برای هر خطایی که در خدمت این جایگاه مقدّس سر بزند، مقصّر می‌باشید.

²Your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring near with you, that they may be joined to you, and minister to you: but you and your sons with you shall be before the tent of the testimony.

² خویشاوندان تو، یعنی طایفهٔ لاوی، باید در امور مربوط به خیمهٔ عبادت به شما کمک کنند.

³They shall keep your commands, and the duty of all the Tent: only they shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary and to the altar, that they not die, neither they, nor you.

³ امّا انجام کارهای مقدّس در داخل مکان مقدّس عبادت، تنها مسئولیّت تو و پسرانت می‌باشد. لاویان نباید به اشیاء مقدّس و یا قربانگاه دست بزنند، زیرا در آن صورت هم تو و هم آنها هلاک می‌شوید.

⁴They shall be joined to you, and keep the responsibility of the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent: and a stranger shall not come near to you.

⁴ فقط آنها با تو همکاری کنند و وظایف محولهٔ خود را در خیمهٔ عبادت انجام دهند و کسی‌که از طایفهٔ لاوی نباشد حق ندارد که همراه تو کار کند.

⁵“You shall perform the duty of the sanctuary, and the duty of the altar; that there be no more wrath on the children of Israel.

⁵ باز می‌گویم که تنها تو و پسرانت، باید امور مربوط به این مکان مقدّس و قربانگاه را انجام دهید. مبادا خشم من در مقابل قوم اسرائیل برانگیخته شود.

⁶I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are a gift, given to Yahweh, to do the service of the Tent of Meeting.

⁶ من خودم لاویان را که بستگان تو هستند، از بین تمام طایفه‌های اسرائیل برگزیدم و به عنوان هدیه به تو دادم. آنها وقف من شده‌اند تا وظایف مقدّس خود را در خیمهٔ عبادت انجام دهند.

⁷You and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood for everything of the altar, and for that within the veil; and you shall serve: I give you the priesthood as a service of gift: and the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”

⁷ امّا وظیفهٔ کهانت، تنها مسئولیّت تو و پسرانت می‌باشد و فقط شما باید امور مربوط به قربانگاه و مقدّسترین مکان را انجام دهید. مقام کهانت، هدیهٔ خاصی است که به شما داده‌ام و اگر هرکس دیگری، به لوازم مقدّس نزدیک شود، کشته خواهد شد.»

⁸Yahweh spoke to Aaron, “I, behold, I have given you the command of my wave offerings, even all the holy things of the children of Israel; to you have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to your sons, as a portion forever.

⁸ خداوند به هارون فرمود: «مسئولیّت تمام هدایایی را که قوم اسرائیل برای من می‌آورند و همهٔ اشیایی را که وقف من می‌کنند، به عهدهٔ تو و پسرانت می‌گذارم. این یک قانون ابدی است.

⁹This shall be yours of the most holy things from the fire: every offering of theirs, even every meal offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render to me, shall be most holy for you and for your sons.

⁹ از بین تمام هدایای مقدّسی که بر قربانگاه سوزانده نمی‌شوند، این هدایا متعلّق به شماست: هدیه‌‌های آردی، قربانی‌های گناه و قربانی‌های جبران خطا. هرآنچه که به من تقدیم می‌شود، مقدّس است و به تو و پسرانت تعلّق می‌گیرد.

¹⁰You shall eat of it like the most holy things. Every male shall eat of it. It shall be holy to you.

¹⁰ اینها را باید در مکانی مقدّس بخورید و تنها افراد ذکور حق خوردن آنها را دارند.

¹¹“This is yours, too: the wave offering of their gift, even all the wave offerings of the children of Israel. I have given them to you, and to your sons and to your daughters with you, as a portion forever. Everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.

¹¹ «همچنین همهٔ هدایای مخصوص دیگری که قوم اسرائیل به من تقدیم می‌کنند، من آنها را به شما و پسران و دختران شما، به عنوان سهم دایمی می‌دهم و همهٔ اعضای خانوادهٔ شما درصورتی‌که ناپاک نباشند، می‌توانند آنها را بخورند.

¹²“All the best of the oil, and all the best of the vintage, and of the grain, the first fruits of them which they give to Yahweh, to you have I given them.

¹² «بهترین روغن، بهترین شراب و غلّه و میوه‌های نوبری را ‌که به خداوند تقدیم می‌کنند، به شما می‌دهم.

¹³The first-ripe fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to Yahweh, shall be yours; everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.

¹³ میوه‌های نوبری که از زمینهای آنها به خداوند تقدیم می‌شود، به شما تعلّق خواهد داشت و هرکس از اعضای خانوادهٔ شما که ناپاک نباشد، می‌تواند از آن بخورد.

¹⁴“Everything devoted in Israel shall be yours.

¹⁴ «هرآنچه در اسرائیل بدون قید و شرط وقف من شده است، به شما تعلّق دارد.

¹⁵Everything that opens the womb, of all flesh which they offer to Yahweh, both of man and animal shall be yours: nevertheless you shall surely redeem the firstborn of man, and you shall redeem the firstborn of unclean animals.

¹⁵ «تمام نخستزادگانی را که اسرائیل به من تقدیم می‌کند، چه انسان و چه حیوان، به شما تعلّق دارند. امّا پسران اول و حیواناتی که حرام‌ گوشت هستند، باید بازخرید شوند.

¹⁶You shall redeem those who are to be redeemed of them from a month old, according to your estimation, for five shekels of money, after the shekel of the sanctuary (the same is twenty gerahs).

¹⁶ پسران نخستزاده را می‌توان هنگامی‌که یک ماهه شدند، به قیمت پنج تکه نقره بازخرید نمود، براساس مقیاس رسمی.

¹⁷“But you shall not redeem the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat. They are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.

¹⁷ امّا نخستزادهٔ گاو، گوسفند و بُز را نمی‌توان بازخرید کرد، زیرا آنها متعلّق به من هستند و باید برای من قربانی شوند. خون آنها را باید بر قربانگاه پاشید و چربی آنها به عنوان هدیه بر آتش به من تقدیم شود. بوی این قربانی مورد پسند من واقع می‌گردد.

¹⁸Their flesh shall be yours, as the wave offering breast and as the right thigh, it shall be yours.

¹⁸ گوشت آنها، مانند سینه و ران راست، هدیهٔ مخصوص متعلّق به شماست.

¹⁹All the wave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, have I given you, and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your seed with you.”

¹⁹ «من این هدایای مخصوص را که قوم اسرائیل برایم می‌آورند، به تو و خانواده‌ات داده‌ام و این پیمانی جاوید است که من با تو و فرزندانت بسته‌ام.

²⁰Yahweh said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.

²⁰ «خداوند به هارون فرمود: «شما نباید، هیچ زمینی در سرزمین اسرائیل داشته باشید. چرا که من، سهم و ارث شما هستم.

²¹“To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.

²¹ «ده درصد هر چیزی را که قوم اسرائیل به من تقدیم می‌کنند، به طایفهٔ لاوی به جای خدمتشان، در خیمهٔ عبادت، بخشیده‌ام.

²²Henceforth the children of Israel shall not come near the Tent of Meeting, lest they bear sin, and die.

²² از این به بعد، سایر بنی‌اسرائیل حق ندارند که به خیمهٔ عبادت نزدیک بشوند، مبادا مجرم شناخته شوند و بمیرند.

²³But the Levites shall do the service of the Tent of Meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations; and among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

²³ تنها لاویان می‌توانند، وظایف خیمهٔ عبادت را انجام دهند و اگر در انجام وظایف خود کوتاهی کنند، مجرم شناخته می‌شوند و این قانونی است دایمی که نسلهای آینده هم باید آن را رعایت کنند،

²⁴For the tithe of the children of Israel, which they offer as a wave offering to Yahweh, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance: therefore I have said to them, ‘Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.’”

²⁴ چون ده درصدی را که قوم اسرائیل، به صورت هدیهٔ مخصوص به من تقدیم می‌کنند، به لاویان داده‌ام؛ در نتیجه آنها نباید زمینی در سرزمین اسرائیل داشته باشند.»

²⁵Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁵ خداوند به موسی فرمود که

²⁶“Moreover you shall speak to the Levites, and tell them, ‘When you take of the children of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a wave offering of it for Yahweh, a tithe of the tithe.

²⁶ به لاویان بگوید: «ده درصد چیزهایی را که از قوم اسرائیل می‌گیرید، به عنوان هدیهٔ مخصوص، به من تقدیم کنید.

²⁷Your wave offering shall be reckoned to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.

²⁷ خداوند این هدیهٔ مخصوص را، به عنوان هدیهٔ نوبر میوه، غلاّت و شراب می‌پذیرد.

²⁸Thus you also shall offer a wave offering to Yahweh of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and of it you shall give Yahweh’s wave offering to Aaron the priest.

²⁸ پس این ده درصدهایی را، که به من تقدیم می‌کنید، باید از بهترین قسمت آنها باشند و باید آنها را به هارون کاهن بدهید.

²⁹Out of all your gifts you shall offer every wave offering of Yahweh, of all its best, even the holy part of it out of it.’

²⁹ پس از آن که بهترین قسمت را تقدیم کردید، بقیّهٔ آنها را برای خود بردارید، همان‌طور که کشاورزان بعد از تقدیم هدایا، باقیماندهٔ محصول را برای خود نگه می‌دارند.

³⁰“Therefore you shall tell them, ‘When you heave its best from it, then it shall be reckoned to the Levites as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the winepress.

³⁰ شما و خانواده‌هایتان می‌توانید آن را در هر جایی‌که بخواهید، بخورید؛ زیرا آن مزد خدمتی است که شما در خیمهٔ عبادت انجام می‌دهید. شما لاویان، با خوردن آن مقصّر شمرده نمی‌شوید، به شرطی که بهترین قسمت ده درصد را به کاهنان بدهید. و اگر این کار را نکنید به هدیه‌‌های مقدّس، بی‌حرمتی می‌نمایید و کشته می‌شوید.»

³¹You shall eat it in every place, you and your households: for it is your reward in return for your service in the Tent of Meeting.

³¹ شما لاویان، با خوردن آن مقصّر شمرده نمی‌شوید، به شرطی که بهترین قسمت ده درصد را به کاهنان بدهید. و اگر این کار را نکنید به هدیه‌‌های مقدّس، بی‌حرمتی می‌نمایید و کشته می‌شوید.»

³²You shall bear no sin by reason of it, when you have heaved from it its best: and you shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, that you not die.’”
