1It happened after the plague, that Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

بعد از آن که بلا رفع شد، خداوند به موسی و العازار، پسر هارون کاهن فرمود:
2“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go forth to war in Israel.”

«تمام مردان اسرائیلی را، از بیست ساله به بالا سرشماری کنید تا مشخص شود که از هر طایفه چند نفر میتوانند در جنگ شرکت کنند.»
3Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

پس موسی و العازار کاهن به رؤسای طایفههای اسرائیل که در دشت موآب، در کنار رود اردن، مقابل اریحا اردو زده بودند، فرمان داد که سر شماری را شروع کنند.
نتیجهٔ سرشماری مردان اسرائیل که از مصر آمدند، به این قرار بود:
4“Take a census, from twenty years old and upward; as Yahweh commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those that came out of the land of Egypt.

از طایفهٔ رئوبین نخستزادهٔ یعقوب، خاندانهای حنوک، فلو،
5Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

حصرون و کرمی جزو این طایفه بودند
6of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
6
و تعداد ایشان چهل و سه هزار و هفتصد و سی نفر بود.
7These are the families of the Reubenites; and those who were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred thirty.

یکی از فرزندان فلو الیاب نام داشت
8The sons of Pallu: Eliab.
8
که پدر نموئیل، داتان و ابیرام بود. داتان و ابیرام، دو نفر از رهبران، با هم دستی قورح علیه موسی و هارون توطئه نمودند و با این کار خود به خداوند اهانت کردند.
9The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against Yahweh,

زمین دهان خود را باز کرد و آنها را فرو برد، همراه با آنها، قورح و پیروانش نیز کشته شدند و همچنین آتشی از جانب خداوند آمد و دویست و پنجاه نفر را خاکستر ساخت. این اخطاری بود به سایر قوم اسرائیل.
10and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.

امّا پسران قورح کشته نشدند.
11Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah didn’t die.

خاندانهای نموئیل، یامین، یاکین،
12The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;

زارح و شاول، جزو طایفهٔ شمعون بودند.
13of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
13
جمعیّت آنها بیست و دو هزار و دویست نفر بود.
14These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty-two thousand two hundred.

خاندانهای صفون، حَجّای، شونی،
15The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

ازنی، عیری،
16of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;
16
ارودی و ارئیلی، جزو طایفهٔ جاد به شمار میرفتند
17of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
17
و جمعیّت آنها چهل هزار و پانصد نفر بود.
18These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.

خاندانهای شیله، فارص، زارح، حصرون و حامول، جزو طایفهٔ یهودا بودند. (دو پسر یهودا، عیر و اونان در سرزمین کنعان مردند و شامل آنها نبودند.)
19The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

تعداد این خاندانها به هفتاد و شش هزار و پانصد نفر میرسید.
20The sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.

خاندانهای تولع، فوه،
21The sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

یاشوب و شمرون، جزو طایفهٔ یساکار بودند
22These are the families of Judah according to those who were numbered of them, seventy-six thousand five hundred.
22
و جمعیّت آنها به شصت و چهار هزار و سیصد نفر میرسید.
23The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;

خاندانهای سارد، ایلون و یحلیئیل، جزو طایفهٔ زبولون بودند.
24of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
24
و جمعیّت آنها به شصت هزار و پانصد نفر بالغ میشد.
25These are the families of Issachar according to those who were numbered of them, sixty-four thousand three hundred.
25
طایفهٔ یوسف پدر منسی و افرایم.
26The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
26
طایفهٔ منسی، ماخیر پسر منسی و پدر جلعاد بود، نسبنامههای خاندانهای زیر به جلعاد رسد.
27These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those who were numbered of them, sixty thousand five hundred.

خاندانهای ایعزر، حالق،
28The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.

اسریئیل، شکیم،
29The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir became the father of Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.

شمیداع و حافر فرزندان جلعاد بودند.
30These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;

صلفحاد، پسر حافر پسری نداشت، امّا دارای پنج دختر به نامهای محله، نوعه، حجله، ملکه و ترصه بود.
31and Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
31
تعداد این خاندانها پنجاه دو هزار و هفتصد نفر بود.
32and Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
32
خاندانهای شوتالح، باکر و تاحن، جزو طایفهٔ افرایم بودند.
33Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

یکی از خاندانهای شوتالح عیرانیها بودند.
34These are the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them were fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

تعداد این خاندانها، به سی و دو هزار و پانصد نفر بالغ میشد. این خاندانها از نسل یوسف بودند.
35These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

خاندانهای بالع، اشبیل، احیرام،
36These are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.

شفوفام و حوفام از طایفهٔ بنیامین بودند.
37These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those who were numbered of them, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.

خاندانهای ارد و نعمان فرزندان بالع بودند.
38The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
38
تعداد افراد این خاندانها به چهل و پنج هزار و ششصد نفر میرسید.
39of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.

خاندان شوحام،
40The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: the family of the Ardites; of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
40
که جمعیّت آنها به شصت و چهار هزار و چهارصد نفر بالغ میشد، از طایفهٔ دان بود.
41These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and those who were numbered of them were forty-five thousand six hundred.

خاندانهای یمنه، یشوی، بریعه، حابر و ملکیئیل، جزو طایفهٔ اشیر بودند. اشیر دختری هم به نام سارح داشت.
42These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
42
تعداد آنها پنجاه و سه هزار و چهارصد بود.
43All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those who were numbered of them, were sixty-four thousand four hundred.

خاندانهای یاحصئیل، جونی، یصر و شلیم، از طایفهٔ نفتالی بودند
44The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.
44
و تعدادشان به چهل و پنج هزار و چهارصد نفر میرسید.
45Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
45
جمعیّت کلّ مردان قوم اسرائیل ششصد و یکهزار و هفتصد و سی نفر بود.
46The name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
46
خداوند به موسی فرمود:
47These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those who were numbered of them, fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
47
«این سرزمین را به تناسب تعداد هر طایفه بین ایشان تقسیم کن.
48The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;
48
تقسیمات زمین باید به قید قرعه صورت بگیرد و به طایفهٔ بزرگتر، زمین زیادتر و به طایفهٔ کوچکتر، زمین کمتر داده شود.»
49of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
49
طایفهٔ لاوی شامل خاندانهای جرشون، قهات و مراری بود.
50These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and those who were numbered of them were forty-five thousand four hundred.
50
خاندانهای لبنی، حبرون، محلی، موشی و قورح هم، جزو طایفهٔ لاوی بودند. قهات پدر عمرام بود.
51These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred one thousand seven hundred thirty.
51
عمرام با یوکابَد، دختر لاوی که در مصر متولّد شده بود ازدواج کرد. او برای عمرام دو پسر به نامهای موسی و هارون و همچنین یک دختر به نام مریم به دنیا آورد.
52Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

هارون چهار پسر به نامهای ناداب، ابیهو، العازار و ایتامار داشت.
53“To these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
53
ناداب و ابیهو وقتی آتش غیر مجاز را برای خداوند تقدیم کردند، مردند.
54To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: to everyone according to those who were numbered of him shall his inheritance be given.
54
تعداد افراد ذکور لاوی، از یک ماهه به بالا بیست و سه هزار نفر بود. امّا لاویان، جدا از طایفههای دیگر اسرائیل، سرشماری شدند، زیرا به آنها زمین در سرزمین اسرائیل داده نشد.
55Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.

این بود نتیجهٔ سرشماری خاندانهایی که، توسط موسی و العازار در دشت موآب، در کنار رود اردن، مقابل اریحا صورت گرفت.
56According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.”
56
در تمام این سرشماری، حتّی یک نفر هم، از آن اشخاصی که قبلاً توسط موسی و هارون کاهن در صحرای سینا سرشماری شده بودند، وجود نداشت،
زیرا خداوند فرموده بود که تمام آن افراد، به استثنای کالیب، پسر یفنه و یوشع، پسر نون در بیابان خواهند مُرد.
57These are those who were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
57
زیرا خداوند فرموده بود که تمام آن افراد، به استثنای کالیب، پسر یفنه و یوشع، پسر نون در بیابان خواهند مُرد.
58These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites. Kohath became the father of Amram.
59The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt: and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
61Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before Yahweh.
62Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63These are those who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
64But among these there was not a man of them who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65For Yahweh had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. There was not left a man of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
