¹Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

¹ در ماه اول سال دوم، پس از آن که قوم اسرائیل سرزمین مصر را ترک کرد، خداوند در صحرای سینا به موسی فرمود:

²“Moreover let the children of Israel keep the Passover in its appointed season.

² «قوم اسرائیل هنگام غروب روز چهاردهم این ماه مراسم عید فصح را برگزار کنند. برای برگزاری این مراسم، از دستوراتی که من داده‌ام پیروی نمایید.»

³On the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you shall keep it in its appointed season—according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances, you shall keep it.”

³ پس موسی به مردم اسرائیل گفت مراسم عید فصح را بجا آورند.

⁴Moses spoke to the children of Israel, that they should keep the Passover.

⁴ در غروب روز چهاردهم ماه اول سال دوم، مراسم عید را طبق دستورات خداوند در صحرای سینا بجا آوردند.

⁵They kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.

⁵ ولی عدّه‌ای از مردان در اردوی اسرائیل، به علّت تماس با جسد مرده ناپاک شده، نتوانستند در مراسم شرکت کنند. آنها پیش موسی و هارون رفته

⁶There were certain men, who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day.

⁶ گفتند: «ما در اثر تماس با جنازه، ناپاک شده‌ایم. چرا ما نباید مثل سایر مردم در این عید، قربانی‌های خود را به خداوند تقدیم کنیم؟»

⁷Those men said to him, “We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season among the children of Israel?”

⁷ موسی به آنها گفت: «صبر کنید تا من در این مورد از خداوند دستورالعمل بگیرم.»

⁸Moses answered them, “Wait, that I may hear what Yahweh will command concerning you.”

⁸ خداوند به موسی فرمود: «اگر یکی از شما و یا فرزندان شما در اثر تماس با جسد مرده ناپاک شود، یا در سفر باشد و نتواند در مراسم عید شركت نماید، بازهم می‌تواند عید فصح را بجا آورد.

⁹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

⁹ یک ماه بعد از عید، یعنی در عصر ماه دوم می‌تواند عید را با خوردن برّه، نان بدون خمیرمایه و سبزیهای تلخ بجا آورد.

¹⁰“Say to the children of Israel, ‘If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Passover to Yahweh.

¹⁰ او نباید چیزی را باقی بگذارد، یا استخوانی از آن را بشکند و باید از تمام دستوراتی که در این مورد داده‌ام پیروی کند.

¹¹In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

¹¹ امّا کسی‌که ناپاک و یا مسافر نباشد و از انجام مراسم عید فصح خودداری کند، باید از بین قوم طرد شود، زیرا در وقت معیّن قربانی خود را به خداوند تقدیم نکرده است. آن شخص گناهکار شمرده می‌شود.

¹²They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break a bone of it. According to all the statute of the Passover they shall keep it.

¹² «اگر یک نفر بیگانه در بین شما سکونت دارد، او هم می‌تواند مراسم عید فصح را با پیروی از مقرّرات آن برای خداوند، بجا آورد. پیروی از این مقرّرات هم برای بیگانگان و هم برای قوم اسرائیل واجب است.»

¹³But the man who is clean, and is not on a journey, and fails to keep the Passover, that soul shall be cut off from his people. Because he didn’t offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.

¹³ در روزی‌ که خیمهٔ عبادت را برپا کردند، ابری خیمه را پوشاند. در شام همان روز، آن ابر به شکل آتش درآمد و تا صبح بالای خیمه باقی‌ ماند.

¹⁴“‘If a foreigner lives among you, and desires to keep the Passover to Yahweh; according to the statute of the Passover, and according to its ordinance, so shall he do. You shall have one statute, both for the foreigner, and for him who is born in the land.’”

¹⁴ به همین ترتیب، ابر همیشه در روز خیمه را می‌پوشاند و هنگام شب به شکل آتش در می‌آمد.

¹⁵On the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, even the Tent of the Testimony: and at evening it was over the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until morning.

¹⁵ هرگاه ابر از بالای خیمه حرکت می‌کرد، قوم اسرائیل هم به راه می‌افتادند و در هر جایی‌که ابر توقّف می‌کرد، مردم هم در همان‌جا اردو می‌زدند.

¹⁶So it was continually. The cloud covered it, and the appearance of fire by night.

¹⁶ قوم اسرائیل به امر خداوند به سفر خود ادامه می‌دادند، و به امر او هم توقّف کرده، اردو می‌زدند.

¹⁷Whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, then after that the children of Israel traveled; and in the place where the cloud remained, there the children of Israel encamped.

¹⁷ حتّی اگر ابر بالای خیمه، مدّت زیادی هم توقّف می‌کرد، قوم اسرائیل طبق دستور خداوند، در همان‌جا می‌ماندند.

¹⁸At the commandment of Yahweh, the children of Israel traveled, and at the commandment of Yahweh they encamped. As long as the cloud remained on the tabernacle they remained encamped.

¹⁸ بعضی اوقات ابر بالای خیمه برای چند روز توقّف می‌کرد، آنها هم به پیروی از حکم خداوند، در خیمه‌های خود باقی می‌ماندند. و بعد هم به امر خداوند حرکت می‌کردند.

¹⁹When the cloud stayed on the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept Yahweh’s command, and didn’t travel.

¹⁹ گاهی ابر تا صبح توقّف می‌کرد و صبح روز دیگر به راه می‌افتاد، امّا خواه شب می‌بود خواه روز، وقتی‌که ابر حرکت می‌کرد، قوم اسرائیل هم با راهنمایی ابر کوچ می‌کردند.

²⁰Sometimes the cloud was a few days on the tabernacle; then according to the commandment of Yahweh they remained encamped, and according to the commandment of Yahweh they traveled.

²⁰ اگر ابر دو روز، یک ماه و یا زمانی طولانی بالای خیمهٔ عبادت توقّف می‌نمود، مردم اسرائیل هم از جای خود حرکت نمی‌کردند ولی همین‌که ابر به راه می‌افتاد، آنها هم به دنبالش به راه می‌افتادند. به این ترتیب، قوم اسرائیل به امر خداوند حرکت می‌کردند و به امر خداوند خیمه‌های خود را برمی‌افراشتند و هر دستوری که خداوند به موسی می‌داد، آنها طبق آن رفتار می‌کردند.

²¹Sometimes the cloud was from evening until morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they traveled: or by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they traveled.

²¹ به این ترتیب، قوم اسرائیل به امر خداوند حرکت می‌کردند و به امر خداوند خیمه‌های خود را برمی‌افراشتند و هر دستوری که خداوند به موسی می‌داد، آنها طبق آن رفتار می‌کردند.

²²Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, remaining on it, the children of Israel remained encamped, and didn’t travel; but when it was taken up, they traveled.

²³At the commandment of Yahweh they encamped, and at the commandment of Yahweh they traveled. They kept Yahweh’s command, at the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.
