¹Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

¹ خداوندا، چرا دور ایستاده‌ای؟ چرا هنگامی‌که ما در سختی هستیم خود را پنهان می‌کنی؟

²In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.

² شریران متکبّرند و بر فقیران ستم می‌کنند، آنان را در دامهای خودشان گرفتار کن.

³For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy, and condemns Yahweh.

³ شریران به مقاصد شریرانهٔ خود افتخار کرده، طمعکاران را می‌ستایند و خداوند را انکار می‌کنند.

⁴The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God.

⁴ شریران در غرور خود به خداوند توجّه ندارند، و در فکر ایشان، خدا جایی ندارد!

⁵His ways are prosperous at all times. He is haughty, and your laws are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.

⁵ مرد شریر در همه‌چیز موفّق است، او دشمنان خود را به هیچ می‌شمارد و نمی‌تواند داوری خدا را بفهمد.

⁶He says in his heart, “I shall not be shaken. For generations I shall have no trouble.”

⁶ در دل خود می‌گوید: «هرگز نخواهم افتاد، هرگز مشکلی نخواهم داشت.»

⁷His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

⁷ سخنانش سراسر دروغ، نفرین و تهدید است و شرارت و گناه از زبانش جاری است.

⁸He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.

⁸ در روستاها برای کشتن مردم بی‌گناه کمین می‌کند، و مراقب است تا اشخاص بیچاره را گرفتار سازد.

⁹He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net.

⁹ مانند شیر در مخفیگاه خود کمین می‌کند و در انتظار مردم درمانده است تا آنها را به دام اندازد.

¹⁰The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.

¹⁰ مردم بیچاره در مقابل آنان تعظیم می‌کنند و اسیر قدرت آنان می‌گردند.

¹¹He says in his heart, “God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.”

¹¹ مرد شریر در دل خود می‌گوید: «خدا فراموش کرده و روی خود را برگردانیده است.»

¹²Arise, Yahweh! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless.

¹² ای خداوند، ای خدای من، برخیز و شریران را مجازات کن، بیچارگان را فراموش مکن.

¹³Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, “God won’t call me into account?”

¹³ چگونه شریر می‌تواند به خدا اهانت کند و به خود بگوید که خدا مرا مجازات نخواهد کرد؟

¹⁴But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.

¹⁴ امّا تو ای خداوند، غم و مصیبت مردم را می‌بینی، تو همیشه برای کمک به درماندگان آماده‌ای، و توکّل آنان به توست، تو مددکار یتیمان هستی.

¹⁵Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.

¹⁵ بازوی مردم شریر و بدکار را بشکن و آنها را به‌خاطر خطاهایشان مجازات کن تا شرارتشان از بین برود.

¹⁶Yahweh is King forever and ever! The nations will perish out of his land.

¹⁶ خداوند تا به ابد پادشاه است. کسانی‌که خدایان دیگر را پرستش می‌کنند، از زمین وی رانده خواهند شد.

¹⁷Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

¹⁷ ای خداوند، تو دعای فروتنان را می‌شنوی. دل آنان را قوی می‌گردانی و به فریاد و زاری آنان گوش می‌دهی. تو گریهٔ یتیمان و ستمدیدگان را می‌شنوی، تو به نفع آنان داوری خواهی کرد.

¹⁸to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.

¹⁸ تو گریهٔ یتیمان و ستمدیدگان را می‌شنوی، تو به نفع آنان داوری خواهی کرد.
