¹Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!

¹ ای خداوند، خداوند ما! چه پرشکوه است نام تو در سراسر جهان! و جلال تو برتر است از آسمانها.

²From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.

² کودکان و شیرخوارگان شكوه تو را می‌سرایند. تو دشمنان و انتقام گیرندگان را ساکت می‌کنی، و از دشمنی آنان در امان هستی!

³When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

³ هنگامی‌که به آسمان نگاه می‌کنم که تو آن را آفریده‌ای، و به ماه و ستارگانی که تو در آن قرار داده‌ای،

⁴what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?

⁴ انسان چیست که به او می‌اندیشی، و به او چنین توجّه می‌نمایی؟

⁵For you have made him a little lower than God, Hebrew: Elohim. The word Elohim, used here, usually means “God,” but can also mean “gods,” “princes,” or “angels.” and crowned him with glory and honor.

⁵ او را اندکی پایین‌تر از خود آفریدی و تاج جلال و افتخار را بر سر او نهادی.

⁶You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:

⁶ او را اشرف مخلوقات نهادی؛ و اختیار همه‌چیز را به دست او سپردی:

⁷All sheep and cattle, yes, and the animals of the field,

⁷ گوسفندان و گاوان و حیوانات وحشی،

⁸The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

⁸ مرغان هوا، ماهیان دریا، و همهٔ جانوران آبزی را. ای خداوند، خداوند ما! چه مجید است نام تو در سراسر جهان.
