¹I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.

¹ آنگاه آسمانی تازه و زمینی تازه دیدم. زیرا آن آسمان و زمین نخستین ناپدید شدند و دیگر دریایی وجود نداشت.

²I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

² شهر مقدّس یعنی اورشلیم تازه را دیدم كه از آسمان از جانب خدا، مانند عروسی كه برای شوهرش آراسته و آماده شده باشد، به زیر می‌آمد.

³I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

³ از تخت صدای بلندی شنیدم كه می‌گفت: «اكنون خانهٔ خدا در میان آدمیان است و او در بین آنان ساكن خواهد شد و آنان قوم او، و او خدای آنان خواهد بود.

⁴He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”

⁴ او هر اشكی را از چشمان آنها پاک خواهد كرد. دیگر از مرگ و غم و گریه و درد و رنج خبری نخواهد بود، زیرا چیزهای كهنه درگذشته است.»

⁵He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”

⁵ سپس آن تخت‌نشین گفت: «اكنون من همه‌چیز را از نو می‌سازم.» و به من گفت: «این را بنویس زیرا این سخنان، راست است و می‌توان به آنها اعتماد كرد.»

⁶He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

⁶ او به من گفت: «تمام شد! من الف و یاء، اول و آخر هستم. این است امتیاز کسی‌که پیروز شود؛ من به تشنگان از آب چشمهٔ حیات، رایگان خواهم بخشید.

⁷ He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.

⁷ من خدای او خواهم بود و او فرزند من.

⁸ But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, The word for “sorcerers” here also includes users of potions and drugs. idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

⁸ امّا سزای ترسویان، بی‌ایمانان، فاسدان، آدم‌كُشان، زناكاران، جادوگران، بت‌پرستان و انواع دروغگویان، دریاچه‌ای از شعله‌های آتش و گوگرد خواهد بود. این است مرگ دوم.»

⁹One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the wife, the Lamb’s bride.”

⁹ آنگاه یكی از آن هفت فرشته كه هفت پیاله پر از هفت بلای آخر را به دست داشت آمد و به من گفت: «بیا، من عروس یعنی همسر برّه را به تو نشان خواهم داد.»

¹⁰He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

¹⁰ او مرا در روح به كوه بسیار بلندی برد و شهر مقدّس اورشلیم را به من نشان داد كه از آسمان، از نزد خدا به زیر می‌آمد.

¹¹having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, as if it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

¹¹ این شهر، با شكوه خدایی و مانند جواهری گرانبها می‌درخشید؛ آن مانند یشم بود و به روشنی بلور.

¹²having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

¹² دیوار بسیار بلندی با دوازده دروازه داشت كه بر آنها دوازده فرشته بود و بر دروازه‌ها، نامهای دوازده طایفهٔ بنی‌اسرائیل نقش بسته بود.

¹³On the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

¹³ سه دروازه به جانب مشرق بود، سه دروازه به جانب شمال، سه دروازه به جانب جنوب و سه دروازه به جانب مغرب.

¹⁴The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.

¹⁴ دیوار شهر بر دوازده سنگ بنا شده بود و بر آن سنگها، نامهای دوازده رسول برّه منقوش بود.

¹⁵He who spoke with me had for a measure, a golden reed, to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.

¹⁵ فرشته‌ای كه با من سخن می‌گفت، متری زرّین در دست داشت تا شهر و دیوارش و دروازه‌هایش را با آن اندازه بگیرد.

¹⁶The city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city with the reed, Twelve thousand twelve stadia 12,012 stadia = or 2,221 kilometers or 1,380 miles. TR reads 12,000 stadia instead of 12,012 stadia. . Its length, breadth, and height are equal.

¹⁶ شهر به شكل مربّع و پهنا و درازایش یكسان بود؛ اندازهٔ آن با متری كه در دست داشت، دو هزار و چهارصد كیلومتر بود. درازا و پهنا و بلندیش برابر بود.

¹⁷Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, 144 cubits is about 65.8 meters or 216 feet by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.

¹⁷ دیوارش به بلندی یكصد و شصت و پنج متر بود، یعنی با مقیاس‌های انسانی كه آن فرشته به كار می‌برد.

¹⁸The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.

¹⁸ دیوارش از یشم ساخته شده بود. خود شهر از زرِ ناب و مانند شیشه، پاک و شفّاف بود.

¹⁹The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire or, lapis lazuli ; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

¹⁹ سنگهایی كه دیوارهای شهر بر آنها بنا شده بود، به انواع گوهرها آراسته شده بود. نخستین سنگ بنا از یشم بود، دومی لاجورد، سومی عقیق سفید، چهارمی زمرّد،

²⁰the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst.

²⁰ پنجمی عقیق سرخ، ششمی عقیق جگری، هفتمی زبرجد سبز، هشتمی یاقوت كبود، نهمی یاقوت زرد، دهمی عقیق سبز، یازدهمی فیروزه و دوازدهمی لعل بنفش بود.

²¹The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

²¹ دوازده دروازهٔ آن شهر عبارت از دوازده مروارید بود و هر دروازه از یک مروارید ساخته شده بود. خیابانهای شهر از زرِ ناب و مانند شیشه، پاک و شفّاف بود.

²²I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple.

²² در شهر معبدی ندیدم، زیرا معبدش خود خداوند، خدای قادر مطلق و برّه بود.

²³The city has no need for the sun, neither of the moon, to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

²³ شهر نیازی به خورشید و ماه نداشت كه بر آن بتابد؛ زیرا شكوه خدا بر آن نور می‌داد و چراغ آن برّه است.

²⁴The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.

²⁴ در نور او ملّتها راه خواهند رفت و پادشاهان زمین همهٔ جلال خود را به آنجا خواهند آورد.

²⁵Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there),

²⁵ دروازه‌های شهر، در روز بسته نمی‌شوند و شب نیز در آنجا نخواهد بود.

²⁶and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter.

²⁶ ثروت و جلال ملل به آنجا خواهد آمد، امّا هیچ ناپاكی وارد آن نخواهد شد و نه کسی‌که گفتارش ناراست و كارهایش زشت و پلید است، بلكه تنها آن کسانی‌که نامشان در دفتر حیات برّه نوشته شده است به آن وارد می‌شوند.

²⁷There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

²⁷ امّا هیچ ناپاكی وارد آن نخواهد شد و نه کسی‌که گفتارش ناراست و كارهایش زشت و پلید است، بلكه تنها آن کسانی‌که نامشان در دفتر حیات برّه نوشته شده است به آن وارد می‌شوند.
