¹He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

¹Aquele que habita no esconderijo do Altíssimo, � sombra do Todo-Poderoso descansará.

²I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”

²Direi do Senhor: Ele é o meu refúgio e a minha fortaleza, o meu Deus, em quem confio.

³For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.

³Porque ele te livra do laço do passarinho, e da peste perniciosa.

⁴He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

⁴Ele te cobre com as suas penas, e debaixo das suas asas encontras refúgio; a sua verdade é escudo e broquel.

⁵You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;

⁵Não temerás os terrores da noite, nem a seta que voe de dia,

⁶nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.

⁶nem peste que anda na escuridão, nem mortandade que assole ao meio-dia.

⁷A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

⁷Mil poderão cair ao teu lado, e dez mil � tua direita; mas tu não serás atingido.

⁸You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked.

⁸Somente com os teus olhos contemplarás, e verás a recompensa dos ímpios.

⁹Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

⁹Porquanto fizeste do Senhor o teu refúgio, e do Altíssimo a tua habitação,

¹⁰no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

¹⁰nenhum mal te sucederá, nem praga alguma chegará � tua tenda.

¹¹For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

¹¹Porque aos seus anjos dará ordem a teu respeito, para te guardarem em todos os teus caminhos.

¹²They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

¹²Eles te susterão nas suas mãos, para que não tropeces em alguma pedra.

¹³You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.

¹³Pisarás o leão e a áspide; calcarás aos pés o filho do leão e a serpente.

¹⁴“Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

¹⁴Pois que tanto me amou, eu o livrarei; pô-lo-ei num alto retiro, porque ele conhece o meu nome.

¹⁵He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

¹⁵Quando ele me invocar, eu lhe responderei; estarei com ele na angústia, livrá-lo-ei, e o honrarei.

¹⁶I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.”

¹⁶Com longura de dias fartá-lo-ei, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.
